i heard patanjali has found a cure in which 100% people were cured....they said the clinical trials report will be published soon....can that be trusted?......i don't know why the media is not covering it much....or maybe this is just a bluff by patanjali....par agar sach hai to bhai sach me desh atmanirbhar hai
Can anyone here consult me on choosing the mains centre. i dont want to give mumbai and delhi as the centre. currently i stay in maharashtra. Can anyone help me choose between ahmedabad bhopal jaipur or any other centre considering - food, stay, January cold, convenience in commute, cost, less people giving mains in that region, etc.
it may be a silly question but given the present circumstances i am thinking of changing my mains centre from delhi to other state.
First of all thank you guys for helping me out.
And secondly lol i didn't think my question would start a debate. I am just following advice of my senior who said it for convenience in commute, less crowd on the day, etc. also the theories that you all put seems logical but i have to try myself this year to see whether it is a contributing factor.
By the way the senior who gave me the advice gave interview this year by giving mains in delhi.(of course its bcoz of his own hard work ...but still..)
i don't want delhi and mumbai bcoz it is a lot crowded.
@Raillife pune is not available for mains.if it was then i would have given it as a choice. Nagpur is available for forest service which i will definitely give as my centre.
Now that this information is public and will reach a lot of aspirants through this platform again the probability will further decrease🤣.
And sorry if i have confused my fellow aspirants who didn't want to change their centres in the first place. but i thought this was useful info that should be shared.
@Neyawn have you read this book? will it be helpful for ethics? there is also book launch video on YouTube.
@Neyawn can you do a live stream Q&A on YouTube or on some other platform. I think it would be really helpful if you share some insights on current situation and how to further plan our studies.....and most importantly how to be 'sane' psychologically in these frustrating times. A 30 min session would also suffice.
If not then an article would also help.
I think everyone here too wants the same.✌️
Congratulations guys we have officially completed 100 pages of 'timepass/ speculation' on this thread.😂😂.
Waiting for@Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh ki 'padh lo...isme kuch nhi rakha'comment.🤣
I applied for cse 2020 in a hurry and filled ews gen category but I came to know I am not in ews later, will it have problem while applying for mains, will I be considered general/open category
Throw some light on the matter
i think they check the documents at interview stage. If you cleared all the cutoff's from ews then you will not be allowed to give interview. But if you cleared pre and mains from general then you will be permitted to give interview as a general candidate. so try clearing general cutoff at all stages you will be fine.
are jee aspirants appealing in the court?....i mean 17/18 saal ke bacche kya he appeal karenge....aur parents to bolenge beta padh lo tu iss faltu appeal ke chakkar me mat pado....
aur rahi baat upsc aspirants ki....i think many will / already has appealed may be coz many are lawyers themselves and also all know where and how to appeal....bada pechida mamla hoga lagta hai.....
koi subramanya swami ko pata lo case lene mai....vo kuch kar lenge😂😂.... nahi to oppn rahul gandhi/tharoor to le he lenge case (🤔)
@LeoMessi truth be told, this thread was never meant to be productive ! at least not since the announcement of dates. and yet here we are.
But i do agree...the nature of discussions has gone from intelligent and logical speculation to taking personal jibes and showing off writing skills and command over language. i mean who says, "discomfort in your myelin sheath" ? right ? 😆😆😆😆 Hell i needed auto correct to type the wordMyelincorrectly 😆😆
anyway...good luck with your prep. But you would never get this message coz you have already left .
OR have you ? 😈😈😈😈
I think calling out people for hypocrisy is perfectly alright and a sign of a healthy democracy. However, one must stop short of taking potshots and offering personal jibes. I think people should be able to sit down and discuss about contentious issues, but it is also necessary that such a debate should be on the basis of a certain set of accepted facts.
Here, as@Spectrum pointed out, the instances of untouchability faced by backward castes, especially the Depressed classes, has been documented over decades. It has also been demonstrably proven that social discrimination based on caste has nothing to do with your job or your income. Now, when these basic facts are ignored, it cannot possibly lead to a fruitful debate. I think the basic point@Spectrum is making is that this social discrimination is not a matter of debate. It is a fact. I mean, it's not something you agree or disagree with. Just because you dont think the number five is actually the number five, it doesn't make a difference to the actual fact situation on the ground. Five comes after four and before six. You don't have to agree with it.
I agree with my friend above who said that the debate, as it is happening on the platform, is pointless. That is because it is not constructive the way it is happening. If we can agree on the basic fact that social discrimination is not economic discrimination, but also agree that there is a need to uplift the economically downtrodden,we could always be in a position where we can debate the form in which affirmative action must be undertaken both on the basis of caste and income.I don't understand people ignoring the discussion altogether saying it is pointless. It is one of the most important issues of our time. This is a beautiful democracy if we allow it to be. Please don't shy away from difficult conversations. I think we can always find a way to make them productive.
Sir then there should be seperate thread on such discussion where people willing to debate will discuss there. Me personally don't have any problem with debating on such topics here but they should be concluded somewhere and not consume for some 5-10 pages on the thread. And if the topic is complex and require further time and debate then a separate thread should be created that is all i am trying to say. Yes people come here and refresh pages to pass time when they are bored...may be some are bored all the time but people come here to see and contribute to bakar on speculation of the dates of postponement for which the thread was initially created. Yes, other forms of debates happened on this thread like the one on neoliberalism or something...but they atleast agreed to disagree and topic was concluded amd then we moven on to bakar of speculation dates.....I am not opposed to any forms of fruitful debates i am just saying create seperate thread and invite people there. This thread should be centered around prelims postponement, petitions gor postponement, extra attempt, speculation of dates, etc. Kya pata someone insider info de de just like someone on this thread itself gave 4oct date info.
i do not mean to offend anyone. Thanks.
guys.....according to my source.....NDA exam will surely take place as all duties, roaster has been assigned to UPSC personnel and they have even booked their tickets.....so if they could conduct NDA exam with approx 5lakh students then they will surely conduct civil services exam also.
However , there may be some change if some unprecedented situation comes...otherwise (if same situation persists) exam would take place on 4th october and upsc is fully ready for it.
thanks man....your last info of upsc dates was legit. hope it is this time too....update dete rehna dost👍
I don't know whether it makes sense or not, all the exams being pushed for at the moment are either college leaving exams or college entrance exams.
None of the state govt. have gone ahead with recruitment exams. If I am not mistaken, UP PCS mains too got postponed. Similar situation with MP PCS and Odisha PCS. So maybe govt has other priorities in mind at the moment for some reason.
Not drawing any conclusions, just an observation.
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/education/news/mpsc-preliminary-exam-2020-postponed-to-september-20/articleshow/77508095.cms
because previously they were on 13 and 13 is i think neet exam date...that is why they postponed by 1 week.....they didn't even allow candidate to change exam centres...the hub for mpsc is pune and even nagpur students study there who gave their exam centre as pune.....now tough choice for them.... hipocracy chal rahi hai MH govt ki....udhar aditya thakrey ugc ki exam cancel karne ko bol raha hai and here the govt is taking state pcs exams
@curiouscse @Handshake @HotBloodPrince @skirti_0826946 ....1-2 din ruk jate hai....lets make 200 pages in this thread .. ..fir close karte hai 😂🤣
Lawyers representing W.Bengal and Maharashtra furiously contesting UGC Exam guidelines on grounds of Art.14. Follow on Live Law.
On the other hand bench led by Justice Arun Mishra summarily quashed a petition challenging NEET/JEE on same Art.14 grounds yesterday. Without even asking the State to explain what safety measures are being put in place. Depressing.
on the other hand maharashtra is taking mpsc exams on 20th sept. didn't even gave option to change the centre except pune.....ye matter pura political hai.......and now the UGC case is going in SC.....i think even SC is in favour of UGC.....anyways the decision should not affect us...
Just study.....be ready for 4th Oct.
Abb batao bhaisahab exams hoge ya nahi😂😂😂.....tayari chalu rakho....exam 4th ko hi hogi...
I have a doubt. Why are certain people being asked to go for home quarantine even after being detected Covid positive? I know there are no beds available and all, but do they get well on their own? Are they given any sort of medicines?Paracetamol 2 times
Vitamin C tablets 2 times
That's it!
In asymptomatic cases only Vitamin C
i have also heard of aayush kadha being given to the patients in aiims delhi......ayurvedic treatment + yoga is also prioritized in many hospitals....for serious patients oxygen plus ventilator......but overall not sure....only heard from a Friend whose sister is in aiims....
@Thanos_ is face shield more comfortable then?.....but will they allow us to use our own masks and protective gear??
you still have to wear mask though.
what does nda SOPs say?
irrespective of the SOP i personally think that the discretion lies with the supervisor in the exam hall.....just like they check the type of watch wore by aspirants to determine if the watch is digital or analog..... of course the two situations cannot be compared but i think you got my point....
A small question.
I had an ACL knee surgery few weeks back and doc has advised to not climb many stairs as well as to keep the leg on some kind of support while sitting (cant sit with bent legs for 2 hrs straight). Should I mail UPSC for the same so that there is no hastle on the exam day in the centre?
How to go about in such cases?
Anyone?
you can contact upsc
not to discourage you but personally i think upsc won't do much in this regard. its better to convince the examiner on the day of exam....some students are always absent in each hall you can take their benches to rest your leg...but it depends on centre and supervisor.....other forum members which had similar experience in this matter could guide you better....

1 more🤣.....jcbwala swag😎 😂
guys aapka to thik hai....but my centre is pune... imagine the situation...i dont think any other city is worse than pune wrt corona......fir bhi i am ready to give exam....cannot complain at this stage... just need to isolate after returning home.....pran jaye par exam na jaye.
WHEN WILL VISION RELEASE PT365??? anyone called.....each day is imp now and cannot leave post june CA
@Itachi The image attached is not visible .
yeah i tried to upload again but its not working.
Hi guys
There is a news doing rounds that paper is already set nd hence only nov 2019 to may 2020 current affairs is important....is it true...
If not how many months current affairs would be more prudent...
Pl enlighten me,as I am a corona warrior and hv less time for revision
o nahi nahi bhai....abb iska speculation mat karo😅😅.....just read what everyone is reading to be on the safer side...which is till august....revise everything atleast thrice and you are good to go. if you have less time do only envt, economy and S&T and revise it ....instead of covering all focus on revision..
i don't know i follow vision..it will come by 15...till then revision of previous pt
@sunnykumarroy658377 form where to download bro?
vision website---value added material---pt365
Just to add to the above tips, theMaitreya future Buddhaquestion was also based on aPYQ asked in 1997.
Same withTANSENlast year (1996)
The trick then is to master the options of Previous year questions. If you can do that,45-50 in Round 1 gets taken care of. And then with the right amount of intelligent guessing, you should be able to reach the 65-25 mark which is good enough for you tocome back, give a pat to yourself on your back, have a good night's sleep(preferably after a booze) andwake up the next day to start for mains immediately.
I have based my prep on these PYQs and their options. That's why the moment the mocks are unconventional and "not-Pyq-based" my scores go down drastically. But I ain't letting any random test series decide my future and tell me that I am not good enough.
I Have full faith on UPSC's credibility and my own early mornings and late nights. Recommend you to do the same.
Cheers Fellas !
exactly.....most of the options and particulars from PYQ are repeated....chambal river, vijaynagar, etc ye sab repeated in some form or the other.....also did anyone solved harappan site question using the option given in Ranyo ashoka question??....marking sohgura in both would have fetched net positive mark.....i was able to identify it after the exam😅....thats why our mental state during exams help in identifying such tricks...
@Itachi I actually solved that IVC ques using option from ranyo ashoka one :p
awesome! 😁....i was like "wth is Ranyo Ashoka????"....and i straightaway skipped the question without looking deeply at the options.. also it was my Q97 set C...i was in rush to complete round 2 and 3 and also S&T questions at the start of the paper messed up my stability.....have to correct my mistakes this time...
My plan 20 days price to prelims has always been to revise pt 5-7 times.
Revise all the pyqs only 2 times. Reading the factual data from spectrum and lucent. I read lucent economy, geography, history part. And that is mostly binge reading.
But I always prepare the repeated topics and options very well, and I have my own experience to say that 50+ questions can be solved if pt is done and pyqs are done.
For me I would not concentrate much on the maps based question, I don't have the aptitude for maps honestly speaking, so the only thing which I do is to make some pnemonics of oceans bordering countries and just using them in the exam, instead of doing maps I would once more revise static topics of pyqs.
true....i also felt that last year many questions were from PT...and last time i only did PTs till feb and still many questions were direct...hepetatis B, pvtg, caspr(also repeated), aiib, maternity benefit, H-CNG, double humped camel, atal innovation....
conclusion- PT is really imp especiallly of economy envt s&t social issue....
@Itachi that double humped camel ques was from PT?! :o
and rhino is also found in other places..... although i am not sure of specific reference on double humped camel...but it was solvable based on knowledge of lion and rhino
HENCE REVISE REVISE REVISE!!!😅😅
Please can someone suggest a source to cover important topics of Medieval history in this last moment??
Preferably a short one:(
This would be of great help!🙂
The solution seems incorrect. Looking for guidance !
Thesolution ain't incorrect. It did flummox me when i first saw it because both the statements are extreme and hence seem to be wrong. But as it turns out, the answer is indeed C.
Here is ascreengrab of the official question paper and answer key !
One for the collection of "debatable questions/answers in UPSC papers"
as far as i know it is tough to solve upsc papers before 2014 by tricks because many questions were factual in nature.....but since 2015 you can apply logic and solve many questions..... that doesn't mean one should not look those papers. their options and question content must be analysed as they are often repeated ( see hard wax, thorny leaves question).....to apply tricks it is better to solve post 2015.
i wasnt going to comment till 4th oct but this cannot wait.....😅
can someone explain this.....is it possible in 3 days....????
How many questions did people attempt in general? After much effort was not able to do more than 82-84.I ended up attempting 96 due to insecurity regarding previous questions which I had attempted. Otherwise in 1st 2 rounds yes<=85.
+1.....
also i had to use whitner this time.....bcoz in my 1st round question i marked wrong mistakenly
@Itachi what, hope it won't be an issue
even i hope for the same.....the changed the print that they send to upsc..... anyways the set and booklet number is present on omr....it won't be an issue i guess
