What is your fallback book?

So this is for all the booklovers out there? What is your fallbook? As in which is the book you read when you don't feel very good, or need to take a break from the Universe?

Does English, August by Upmanyu Chatterjee count as a fallback book?

Not for me.. Upmanyu chatterjee leaves me with a strange feeling which could last for hours.. going by the thread intro, english august would lead to more disillusionment than comfort

Not fallback book but memorable and would be happy to read them again.

What can I give: Life lessons from my teacher Apj Abdul kalam

A little prince - the more adult you are the more weird you will find the book, the more child like you are, the more easy.(There is a movie on it too- must watch)

Harry Potter - why didn't I read them sooner. Perfect for a beginner to read and loved the author's writing style.

Man's search for meaning - Viktor Frankl. Dr. F makes you realise that a lot of the dark times (especially before mains) are a result of our own outlook. The choice is ours.

So I choose this - it is an absolute a privilege to be able to write my last attempt. Onwards and upwards.

Heard a podcast of Ira Mukhoty on the seen and the unseen , where she talks about women in history...
Really appreciate the author..

Pardon me for deviating from the topic, but what device are you reading on? Is this from a Kindle?

moon+reader on Android. Buying a dedicated device just for reading books doesn't seem worth it 😅

That’s what I keep telling myself but laptop pe pdf read karne mein maut ati hai 😆 and it doesn’t help that the formatting of many CA magazines like Vision isn’t exactly compatible for these Readers too

I think I am one of the few people who loves reading on laptop/desktop more than on a kindle or a physical book. A lot of times, even when I have a hard copy of a book and I still download a pirated copy and read it on my laptop because it's easy to store it for later recollection and note making.

Also, yes. Magazines are in PDFs na. Kindle is bad with PDFs but there are some ridiculously priced PDF e-readers which I could have bought if my last name was Ambani or Adani. Window Shopping toh kar hi sakte hai filhaal.
