Conventional Power (Thermal)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Status:<\/strong> Thermal power constitutes <strong>~60%<\/strong> of UP&#8217;s installed capacity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Projects:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Obra &#8216;C&#8217; (2&#215;660 MW):<\/strong> Supercritical technology operationalized in Sonbhadra.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jawaharpur (Etah) &amp; Ghatampur (Kanpur):<\/strong> Recently commissioned to meet peak demand (which crossed <strong>30,000 MW<\/strong> in summer 2024).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coal Source:<\/strong> Singrauli Coalfields (Sonbhadra) \u2013 &#8220;Energy Capital of India.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>B.
