SOLUTIONS TO DAILY CSAT MISSION # 84

1. (C) 2. (D) 3. (C) 4. (A) 5. (C)

Explanations
1. Total number of families = 250/5 = 50.
70% of the families are Tamilian, so number of Tamil families = 70/100 x 50 = 35.
Total number of Tamilians = 35×5 = 175.
The number of employed in the building = 250 x 80/100 = 200
Out of 200 employed, 25% are Tamil females, which makes their number 50.
Out of 175 Tamilians, 64% are males and children. So, the females are 36% i.e. 175 x 36/100 = 63
Of the 63 Tamil females, 50 are employed. So, 13 are not employed.

2. Vikram can give Naveen a start of either 50m or 8 seconds. This means Naveen runs 50m in 8s.
So, the time taken by Naveen to run 1000m = 1000 x 8/50 = 160 seconds
Vikram can give Naveen 8 seconds start. Hence, the time taken by Vikram = 152 seconds.

3. Teachers from Kerala = 7. Teachers from West Bengal = 6.
The senior most teacher is non-Keralite and non-Bengali. Therefore the senior most teacher is from Tamil Nadu. Other than the senior most teacher, school has one more non-Keralite and non-Bengali teacher. Therefore teachers from Tamil Nadu = 2.
So, total number of teachers = 7+6+2 = 15

4. When L is on Tuesday and Q is on Saturday, the days suitable for K and M are either Monday or Wednesday.
If K occurs on Monday, then M is on Wednesday, and N and P will be left for Thursday and Friday. But P and Q cannot be on consecutive days (Fri and Sat). This means K occurs on Wednesday. Which means N-P will be Sunday and Monday.

5. When O is on Monday and Q is on Friday, the slots available to K and M are Sun-Tues, Tues- Thu or Thu-Sat.
If K and M are on Sunday and Tuesday, N and P will have only Wednesday and Thursday. But P and Q cant be on consecutive days (Thu-Fri). So K cant happen on Sun.
If K and M are on Tuesday and Thursday, there will be no consecutive slots available to N and P. So K cant be on Tuesday.
This leaves only Thursday when K can happen. So, M is on Saturday, N-P are on Tues-Wed, and L is on Sunday. So, (C) is corerct.
