CSE 2023: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

General Science is more current affairs / awareness oriented. So if some new innovation, incident, phenomenon is in news then you try to be acquainted with the why, how, underlying concepts, applications, effects, related innovations/incidents/phenomenon.
Nothing related to what was done for JEE would be asked (maximum they would deal with class 10 level concepts)

I saw people venting out their thoughts, fears, pain, happiness on this platform. Gathered enough courage today to write something I often feel. I called it courage because I'm a person who don't express anything to anyone.

It's been 2 years .....I came back home from Delhi due to lockdown. I was comfortable with studying in the library. 2 months after coming back, I lost my both  grandparents. In the next one month, I had prelims.....my mother tested Covid positive 3 days before prelims......I hardly read anything for 3 months before prelims. I failed miserably in prelims. Moreover I was mentally n physically exhausted. It took almost 6 months for our family to recover n get back to normal.

What I didn't notice is I was not normal. As I started to study after many months, I couldn't concentrate. There were days where I struggled to read even a single page. But when someone disturbs me I became furious. I used to cry badly.

Every day in the morning I have to help my mother in packing lunch for my parents n sibling. When I sit back to study there comes a knock everyday....milk man.......then another knock between 11-1pm  comes maid whenever she wanted to. I also involve in household work in the evening, as my parents would get tired after coming from work. So I tried to study at night but it badly affected my health. Adding to this people come home frequently. They don't leave without asking me. Some even said that I  was giving lame excuses. Some said that sending children to Civils coaching has  become a social status... literally on my face.

In the beginning I thought it was ok, I can adjust to this routine. But over 2 years just sitting at home with no other activity, negativity started creeping in....... cognitive distortions.......crying for everything.......unable to concentrate......always feel low on energy....feel worthless .....are these really excuses?.....Can change in environment help me come out of this brain fog?

You can check@Neyawn post from couple of months back wherein he had discussed in which scenarios one should come to Delhi. You can check that and make a final decision.

@SergioRamosHey, I am primarily looking for a source to make Intro - points - conclusion format notes. I just find onlyIAS ones to be a bit concise and upto the point. I have read standard books for polity, economy etc so just trying to merge the two and their material provides the necessary skeleton for this purpose.

I checked Raus mains compass, say for the topic Inclusive growth both have more or less the same point. Raus goes into a bit more depth, but is that depth useful while writing answers? From my limited understanding it's basically generate maximum points, substantiate them and you have a good answer. Have I got it wrong?

And what do you recommend for topics like Society, Governance, Social Justice etc?

Thanks once again.

I had asked a forum mentor this question and was suggested to try either Prahaar / SunyaIAS material (Paid) for mains preparation.
I have been using Prahaar for GS2.

I have been a silent spectator of forum since March. Gave prelims and probably missed due to CSAT.
Past couple of weeks had been hectic at work. I would be posting to maintain accountability.

Goals for this week:

Not a particularly great week as initially wasn't studying enough + relatives came over on Saturday  due to which a very non-productive weekend.
Need to pull up next week so that GS2 sectional tests get over by August end.

Last week was good although couldn't complete prep for MGP GS3 test 1 ->Mrunal ke short notes banana + Anthro optional ke bhi notes banane me kaafi time lag gaya. Would give test by Tuesday.

This week would be shifting so kuch time usme nikal jayega ->Weekly plan is on the more optimistic side.

@D503You can use Smriti Shah (Vision IAS) lectures ->Have heard in couple of topper talks for society portion. I had watched her lectures for ethics and they were pretty good.

What do you guys and gals do in your study breaks. I engage in mindless scrolling and then get tired and bored and even sad. Is there some productive way to enjoy the breaks

I always went to youtube earlier but have been trying to move away.Personally this is what I have been doing:
Avoid social media (including youtube - kyunki shorts hai) atleast till 5-6pm
Try scheduling personal chores during the breaks / meditate / talk. Don't put stress on eyes by reading / focusing on anything.
Try to pull off more study hours by 5-6 pm so that you can wind down in evening

Although having productive breaks is what I used to do (while in job), there were multiple days I got burned out due to this. Better to do have more rounded routine which is sustainable in long term.

I'm unaware about your budget but I'd suggest you to look up for inktank printers in whatever range that suits you. Those are relatively compact and versatile in comparison to laserjet printers and better ROI on print cost in comparison to inkjet printers.

Yes was looking into ink tank printers between 10-12k. Was mainly looking into epson but HP has some cheaper options

Had some kind of burnout this week and didn't end up studying much ->bas anthro lectures + Newspaper. Also having shifted to a new place so taking some time in adjusting.

Next week is very important as progress has stagnated for the last two weeks.

Anyone who can help me, kindly suggest an effective way to get rid of terrible neck sprain!
It is turning out to be an actual Pain in the......
......
......
NECK!

Try to get an office chair with neck support and get in some yoga .

Also if going to gym, look out for your posture and if you're not engaging your neck muscles instead of shoulders.
