Hello Everyone,
I am Ankit Agarwal, IRS :2016 batch. I am currently posted as Deputy Commissioner in the department. I have given all my 6 attempts and have been selected 4 times, though there was no change in service.
I had Political Science as my optional and scored in the top bracket of my optional every time, which was precisely the reason for me getting through almost everytime. My service could not be changed mainly on account of low marks in interview and general studies.
Anyways;
I am starting a free political science lecture series wherein I'll try to upload videos on all the aspects of political science optional on Youtube. I did try to start one earlier as well where in I posted the notes by referring to several sources, but it was during the preparation period, thus any excess study pressure sort of used to derail the entire process, and there's always a competitive spirit attached when you are also preparing for the same exam.
Why am I doing it/whats my agenda?:
2 things mainly ;
FirstlyI like teaching and always sorta had a thing for it, so this lecture series will fullfill that side for me.
Secondly; Before I put all my UPSC material away for good, I want to etch it on the internet so that it can be useful to few aspirants at least, specially for people who don't have the resources to attend the plethora of coaching centers and help in leveling the playing field.
I will be starting the video series from this upcoming week and will start with a little brief and background about the subject and how to navigate the optional.
Followed by western political thought, starting with Plato and Socrates.
I will make and deliver the videos in English primarily, since I am comfortable in it and if your medium of writing the papers is English , then it is strongly advisable that all the studying is done in the same medium as well.
P.S. I dont have any video guy with me, thus there would hardly be any editing and you would find lot of "ummmmms and uuuhhhh's " ,few awkward silences and random background noise as well. So kindly bear with it :)
Further you can drop in suggestions on different topics that I should be covering/ Or any doubts regarding the study material.
You can either drop it in here or DM me at Instagram at my handle : agarwal.ankit91

This is the link to the first lecture I created. Apologies for the delay, Will try to make a few videos during this Dusherra break and post them.
This video primarily talks briefly about the overview of the subject. For serious/experienced candidates can skip this video if they want, Its mainly an orientation video per se.
@Ankit_Agarwal much appreciated.
Hello Ankit,
every once in a while we have someone enthusiastic start a video series , and then disappear due to lack of motivation or other commitments.
If you really want to do this, we can provide you with a studio and sponsor the video creation. It will be such a waste if something wonderful like this is half done due to lack of enthusiasm after few days. Do let us know.
@root Am I being ghosted?😅😋
Hello Everyone,
Here's the link to Video on Plato ;
There are 2 videos and 2 more are in the offing. Will be posted in this week. Apologies for the delay, I was under transfer thus could not devote lot of time to creation of the video. I have listed few questions in the end of the video as well, Do try them.
Anyways, Happy Studying!
