Success in any competitive exam comes at a hefty price- long study hours effect your health, fees and study material deplete your parents wealth but most of all you are robbed of the precious years of your life.
UPSC is different, because all these factors play an exponential role due to the abysmal success rate in the exam.
A few days ago when exam results were announced the toppers of the exam were celebrated but at the same time most of the students who worked hard for the exam were devastated. It’s like being eroded every year layer by layer of your will power to fight back, to try again!
Why are we silent about the ones who don’t make it, when they are the ones who need more help! Why quitting is necessarily bad? If one’s drive to succeed in an exam can result into sad stories like this, maybe we need to recheck the thin line between motivation and obsession.
