@AzadHindFauz Bro if you could please list out some of those copies or names of toppers whose answers you found to be really good, it would be of great help. Vision has literally everyones copies in Rank 100-200 range, but i would like to know which ones specifically you are talking about.
Thank You 😊

Yes and in GS everyone wrtiting style is different. It is difficult to know what gets you marks ? This subjectivity increases in Optional and Essay and Ethics.

I know I am going to sound like a newbie but...….if anyone can compare Vision's monthly with Forum's monthly (Epic) in terms of quality of content covered? I was reading Vision for the past 3 months, but when I saw this month's Epic I like how Epic had GS topic wise news covered. But majority aspirants follow Vision (FOMO). Any suggestions pls?

Anyone suggestions guys? Maybe this comment was clouded by coffee and religion😅

I'd say either. Waise, one approach can be to cover the focus article from EPIC, and do the rest from Vision CA.

Can you please elaborate how it will help i.e., benifits??

In EPIC, You get detailed coverage for any 1 topic, the rest all are covered pretty much in a similar fashion with respect to other magazines. No such big benefit in the sense that the selection of CA magazine won't be the reason for not getting selected. Pick any 1. Bas multiple revisions.

Has anyone taken Kindle Unlimited? Could you please highlight prons and cons of taking the subscription?

( I have a Kindle. I'm also an Amazon Prime member. I've been using Prime reading so far but options are pretty limited there.)

I took it for a specific book I wanted whose regular price was higher than the Kindle Unlimited subscription price. Haven't found any use for it beyond that book though. The titles seem to be books no one is buying anyway, with a few good ones that find their way in there somehow. I would say get it only if it's economical to do so for a specific book or books that you want.

Perfect. Thank you.

No specific copy as such. I read almost all toppers' copies listed on the Vision and Lukmaan IAS website. I took the ideas that were fascinating to me and what I thought would be worth doing in my own answers. Every copy was unique and each one had something to teach. I cannot single out any one copy.

Not sure if this is the right place but I have heard a lot about@AzadHindFauz 's answers.

Can I get to see them from someplace ?

Please help me get into the list somehow. I'll come over to your place and deliver them myself.

Jokes apart, my answers wouldn't help you much. There are a lot of great copies on the internet. Many of us have learned from such lot.

After how many revision you were able to recall for mains and PSIR ? As you said you were hitting the point in your answers and even after leaving for 50 marks you got 85 marks , that means your content was solid as well as you were able to execute it on the sheet. So, this must have take some serious recalling for both GS and Optional. And how did you manage that ? Short notes ? Long notes ? PYQ theme based notes ?

I didn't count the number of revision, but I had trouble recalling everything. However, I read them again and again. A month before Mains, I got my short notes from evernote printed on white A4 sheets. After Mains, the 'white' from the sheets had disappeared. They were all Orange, Yellow, Green, and Fluorescent.

Even now I feel there's a lot of scope for improvement. I was not able to write a good many things that I had read a lot of times.

Thanks for pointing out EPIC. Felt much better than vision monthly to be honest. I haven't read more than 3-4 monthlies in my whole preparation due to irrelevant and content overload. Also, layout isn't user-friendly. Eventually relied only on PT and Mains 365.

@Neyawn  forum really have some really good initiatives. My friend took MGP test series and current affairs for 2020 and got a interview call was very much appreciative of it. Also, many questions came from the test series. Negative publicity of one coaching isn't my aim but just want people should know about better alternatives. Just how I came to know about EPIC today

While, having vision test series, questions there too felt a bit irrelevant as they were quite precise within a topic(just like secure initiative) and not generalistic.

Ssshhh.

If I had my way, I would still keep this a *secret* community for Civils Preparation. Also, lets not discuss coaching stuff here. Dont you think we have some great conversations happening here.

See the words "Just don't spread the word."

I dance with joy when I see so many brilliant people on one thread. Trust me on this, if we just maintain the level of discussion, you will again have like 7 out of Top 10 ranks from this community, not even the academy.

( I have a Kindle. I'm also an Amazon Prime member. I've been using Prime reading so far but options are pretty limited there.)

@AzadHindFauz The kindle unlimited subscription is useless. The books they offer arent the ones we need, and biggest drawback - once the subscription gets over, you cannot view the books anymore. You have to renew the subscription or buy the books. So ultimately, theres no as such added advantage.

Absolute garbage. An abomination. Most of the books available are either cheap romance by debutant writers or classics that are anyway available on the internet.
On the other hand, I get most of the books I need on Torrents. I know, I know!

But then books are costly and yet necessary.

:D

Just search the book you want with the exact name. You are likely to find Epub or Mobi format. Sometimes even PDF. The one with the highest amount of seed and leach is usually your preferred target.

Rest you can convert the format to kindle usingthis.

Hope it helps.

Which book do you want bdw?

I was hoping to not say this because intolerant intellectual are very intolerant of anything criticizing the religion of peace. Also because a few days back i saw a Muslim auto driver go out of his way to help a hindu Covid+ pregnant lady. I've seen a lot of examples of Muslims being more helpful than Hindus.

You probably live in a mostly Hindu state to think of India as Holi and diwali. But in states like kerala, telangana, TN, UP, Bihar, Assam, WB, etc. The picture of India seems a bit different. Crowded Mosque roads on fridays, sea of skull caps and 4 AM wake up call are the norm.

What I mean to say is that the second largest minority is large enough in most state for their backwardness to be of concern to everyone. What Ambedkar said about them in this book http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritchett/00ambedkar/ambedkar_partition/index.html#contents still holds true. They still don't believe in real science, just the stuff taught in madatsas. I'm traveling in a train right now. 6 out of 8 people in the cabin and side are Muslims and only I am wearing a mask. May be RSS taught them pseudo science too. Or may be they still believe in the infallibility of very hard sciences mentioned in that book of theirs. They still torture animals because it's halal. What's to say they won't follow the book and try to turn darul harb into darul islam by waging something mentioned in the same book.

Last time partition happened was because they were 23% and religion was more important to them than nation. It still is more so for the educated people working in private sector and even government.

I'm sorry if it sounds rude but by not acknowledging and addressing the backwardness of largest minority, pseudo intellectuals are further deepening the already deep divisions between the two communities.

There’s a relevant thread for digital note taking as well. You could check that one out for more “insights” (couldn’t resist it)

I have been exposed. Goddamit!
