  • Government relaxes FDI norms across 15 sectors: Regarding FDI reforms, Govt. eased norms across 15 sectors. Main sectoral changes in the FDI regime includes-Construction sector, Defence, Broadcasting, Plantation, Retail, LLPs, Aviation, Banking etc. No government approval is required for investment in automatic route by way of swap of shares. These (reforms) are the biggest path-breaking and the most radical changes in the FDI regime ever undertaken by the Centre.(Government Policies, Economic development  – GS Paper III)
