Thank you, Im glad that at least you replied. As you said, I will not let anyone decide for my job.
However, just of analysis, I hope you will assist me.

    >>>Assistant in State Commercial Taxes >>>
Salary around 18-19K at present, will rise parallet to 7th pay commission. Joining in a city, where I can get facilities like internet, good newspaper, etc. No transfer for next 3-4 yrs.
    Office Timing: 10am – 5 pm

    >>> Asst. Manager in Rural Bank >>>
Salary around 32-35K, in deep rural area, where no internet or electricity in home, etc. No transfer for next 3 yrs.
    Office Timing: 10am-5pm

Both job should give same time to study.

The problem with me is that Commercial Taxes dept. is attracting me more and feel it lucrative. Now, I do not know if I am correct. Am I leaving a higher post for lower post? Am I correct?
I am looking for someone who can atleast show me the correct path. Its been only a month since I have thought of preparing for UPSC.

Truly, it is killing my time. Need guidance.

  2. Hi Anand,

This is a decision that you need to take. If you are confused look into job profile, service conditions and salary of both the job. Now compare them to see which gives you more satisfaction and fulfills your requirement on personal as well as professional level as well.

Satisfaction is an abstract value which differs for every individual so pleas take this decision based on informed choice. You can ask others for information on the job but not to decide for you.

As far as i m concerned i think leave before exam won’t be a problem in both the jobs. But both are related to finance sector so there are chances there might be weeks where u wont be able to touch a book. RRB bank PO is at still micro level and probably will give you more opportunity to study. But in tax asst. you will be in bureaucracy cant say but there might be times where there will be no work and u can study both at home and work.
