In the article “An anti-constitutional judgement” the judgement is based on the false premise that primacy of the judiciary in the appointments process is a requisite condition for independence of the judiciary; he remarks that it’s a wrong/misreading of the 2nd judges case. He also says that the amendment should not have been quashed (you have pointed this out)and that it was done in haste.
