A silly question about document verification for Mains/Interview

Hey all! I'm a fresher looking to give a first attempt this year in 2020. My issue is that I've read that for date of birth verification UPSC requires a matriculation certificate, the problem is that I've done my 10th-12th abroad from the IB (International Baccalaureate) board and my particular school did not mention date of birth in their 10th marksheet, only on the 12th certificate is it mentioned. I've done my graduation from a central university in India.

Will this pose a hurdle further down the line? I'm aware it might be a silly question but it's been nagging me for a while. Can anyone with mains/interview experience help me out with this?

Sirf Degree or Caste certificate genuine hona chahiye. Reset everything UPSC will take care. You just need to study. UPSC will even accept a white A4 sheet hand written affidavit about almost all other things/ delays in producing.

  1. Your DOB will be verified before your Interview
  2. UPSC has been known not create issues on procedural things apart from OBC Creamy Layer ( and now EWS ) Certificates
  3. Carry your 10th and 12th Boards Marksheet. Show them 10th one does not have DOB. They will accept 12th Marksheet, You will not face any problems or harassment.
  4. In the end, for your induction into service, procedural issues apart from OBC Creamy Layer and EWS ( for which clarity is still not there ) will not stop your from joining.

Hope this addresses your concern.

Sir, this A4 sheet is it not an exaggeration?

No. UPSC accepts handwritten undertaking for allmost every thing. However this is to provide you enough time to get your document ready as a special case.

For all such people result/ Allocation of service comes with an ASTERISK* You will be needed to submit the required document ifff its possible to make it. Otherwise other rules come into picture.

Thank you sir for all the insights that you are providing to all aspirants here!
