@Levi Lets send MASS MAILS to UPSC requesting them to consider postponement of exam
Here are the arguments supporting the need to postpone the exam:
1. Mains is not a single day exam but a 9 day one and so increases the chances of infection, when students stay at exam center cities in hotels.
2. Loss of opportunity if a candidate gets infected on any day in the exam center.
3. There are travel restrictions imposed at state and even at district level
For example:
Dehradun Administration had made it mandatory to show negative report to enter the diatrict. This will not allow candidates having corona to appear for exam.
4. What if a person is trapped in a containment zone.
5. What if a candidate gets infected with corona.
Having equal opportunitity to join civil services is a right guaranteed under constitution. Equal opportunity requires equal and fair access to examination.
Please do note that there is a difference in other disease outbreaks like dengue, malaria. In such cases there is no restriction on movement. Also chances of student getting caught to such diseases in the exam centers is also negligible.
We request you to consider postponement of UPSC mains exam.
