@AJ_   Hi, I've physics optional but juggling with GS and optional remains pretty much the same wrt to maths and physics. How did you manage optional along with GS in those 2 months? I've confidence in GS, such that I just need to revise and write the mocks for majority of the GS. While my optional scenario is completely opposite, probably due to the fact that I need to cover the syllabus once to get some confidence in that.

In a similar situation.@AJ_Please let us know the feeling you had during the preparation. Were you confident right from the beginning or did it develop till the end, if at all? (With regard to both GS and optional)

Need some advice regarding newspaper reading. Totally missing out reading them as mains prep looks huge in itself. And with the backlogs due to prelims has created inertia to read them. What u people suggest, reading 2-3 newspapers daily to clear backlogs or skipping the backlogs and reading new ones only?

Had a very bad day today. I am not habituated to high pollution, and Delhi is choking me (having throat irritation and watering eyes). I am also going through headaches from yesterday evening. Cound not focus at all. Also, I missed today's AWFG.

Delhiites, please suggest how to tackle this. Does air purifying plants help?

Not a delhite, but I've stayed there for 5 years and I know what this gas chamber feels like.

Some of my delhite friends use air purifiers, they say it works but then when AQI is already 500-600+ , so idk how much it will help.  But something is better than nothing...

On a side note Use Hankerchief soaked in water and put it on ur eyes and nose when u lie down..

Headache is also bcz of the smoke, it will go eventually...

Thanks for the advice, will try it out.
As you have stayed long enough in Delhi, can you tell, is this temporary Diwali effect, or will it stay during the whole winter?

Edit - I was talking about indoor plants, not planning to invest on a purifier for just 2 months:blush:

Taking a break from forum and YPT for a while.. In a complete mess at the moment... I don't know how many days will it take for me to get back to be how I was a week ago...  These few days will make or break me...

I wish I was stronger enough to handle all this pressure and anxiety...

Somehow, I am just not able to handle it at all right now.

I just wish I had not qualified prelims in the first place.. I was clearly never prepared for mains.

Exactly what I was telling to my friend 3 days ago. "I wish I had not cleared pre, tension hi khatam ho jati". I was stressed then. But then she made me realize how I was questioning my self-worth after I failed my earlier prelims. Failing this one could have made it worst.

I don't think this will reduce your anxiety, but it is just to make to realize that you are not alone in going through such emotions.
All the best, bounce back stronger.

Can anyone please help me with a source for economic geography. I have done NCERT only and did not find it to be enough.

Hello friends the past 3-4 days have been bad to say the least. I’ve been feeling extremely unmotivated and have barely been able to even clock my hours on YPT. I don’t know why I’m struggling, but I know it cannot go on like this. So I will self reflect a bit and hopefully find some sort of solution. I’m not keeping any targets today but I’ll let you know what I managed to finish by the end of the day.

Found these lines from Javed Akhtar's poem (which he recited in the parliament during the celebration of 60th year of our independence in 2007) very contextual to our situation.

Balancing gs and optional is getting really difficult, despite completing majority of them before prelims. My optional is taking time.

and i see people here having quite balanced daily targets, makes me wonder where will i land with such slow pace. 😕

Do we need to give details of all CSE and IFoS pre and mains in this section? Having doubts because there was already a section for previous prelims details with roll no.

I think this refers to exams other than CSE. I’m not sure IFoS though

Exactly what I also thought, but then I saw CSE Pre and Mains both in the dropdown. Cross-checked with my previous year's DAF, I had filled NO in this section.

Today was good day. Gave 3 full length tests, one of gs2, one of optional and one of essay. Wrist pain is extremely satisfying. Tomorrow will analyse them. Looking forward to a contended sleep. Good night people.

I need to acknowledge that yesterday was a bad day for me, not with regards to the no of hrs, but the level of focus i had. Hoping to bounce back today. All the best people.

Since August when I Diligently started preparing, I have never really felt sleepy or wanting to just lie down in bed..

But now that the mains is just round the corner, I just want to sleeeeeepppp 💤😴..

Couldn't complete a mock that I was trying to do, because felt too sleepy!!

Jaldi khatam ho ye sab, then I'll sleep as much as I want..

Totally on the other side of the spectrum. Not getting good sleep these days, similar was the case 1 month before prelims. And it has been reducing my efficiency. I know after mains i will overcompensate for the sleep loss 😂

It looks soo far fetched to get into the list, given the never ending remaining portions for revisions.

Concentration is wavering like anything..

It's been almost a week now like this..

I think I'll have to take full day break tomorrow, and waste as much time as I can... Maybe the guilt trip will help me in getting back on track..

What do you guys think?

I was in the same condition till yesterday. Took a mentor call and got a reality check. She asked me to plan for each week by allocating tasks to each day. When i did that i realised, i have shit load of work to do in very limited time. Planned accordingly. And today was a productive day for me. This was because i know in my head that if i stick to the plan, i will be able to complete things. And this took the stress off and i could concentrate. Just hoping it stays this way.

u can try out this plan thing.

Can anyone please share their approach for compulsory language papers?
I am kind of freaking out as if the optional and gs were not manageable already, these papers won't even be checked if the language papers are not qualified.

I am answering this with an assumption that you have hindi as compulsory language.

I plan to read a few Hindi newspapers in the week gap for vocab building (I intend to make note of few daily use words). Just skim through Grammar books for eng and Hindi to get hold of grammar part. Essay, precis writing and descriptive passage will be manageable. Along with that, I plan to simulate the tests one day just before to get into the zone.

Want to share something from my last mains experience. In the English to Hindi translation part, struggled to get Hindi words like'अनुशासन' for discipline. We know them but due to our Hinglish dialect, are out of practice.
