CoVID Resources / Help for Aspirants staying away from home

I think forum as a community can be helpful for pooling resources for aspirants away from home for preparation.

Any leads for medicines / doctors / home care especially in Delhi will be very helpful

This is the Govt of India's e- consultation website. It's free of cost and the doctors are govt doctors. So if anyone wants to consult it would be really easy and the doctors are good too.

A friend suggested this to me yesterday and I took the consultation. However, the only negative point is the long waiting queue. But since we are just at home it should not be much of a concern. Be rest assured the queue system is fairly transparent too. Also, it has an option to upload your reports so that doctors can see them (up to 3 documents). After the consultation is done your prescription is uploaded on the portal from where we can download it.

For those who cannot find a reliable doctor, this is the best place. Just a bit of patience is needed.

For only covid patients or people in general??

There is a general opd as well as some medical specialists like dermatologist, gynaecologist, psychiatrist, orthopaedic, ENT etc. It's more like a virtual govt hospital.

For how many days does covid last after encountering mild symptoms?

@DramaticAdmiral For me, they lasted around 9-10 days starting from fever, then pain in throat and in last loss of sense of smell and taste. But fatigue is still there and I sleep for 9-10 hours while earlier it was around 7 hours before Covid.
I am also finding it somewhat difficult to maintain concentration and focus on my studies for last 10 days.

Yes, I did. These standard flu symptoms are pretty common in Covid. Do take steam 2 times for relief on that front, and salt in lukewarm water gargle for sore throat.

10 days give or take. Tiredness and cold symptoms took even longer to resolve.

Fever for me was debilitating to say the least. Used to go upto 102. With chills and extreme weakness. Paracetamol would take it off, but it would come back the next day. This continued the first 5-6 days for me. I used to take a combination tablet of paracetamol + ibuprofen, so I used to feel pretty decent in the rest time, aside from other typical covid symptoms like loss of taste and smell, body ache, etc

Hey guys, my mother tested positive on the Antigen test on Saturday, they also took samples for RT-PCR but we still haven’t received the reports for her. Other 3 members of the family tested negative for both tests.
Early on she had cold and a running nose. Since yesterday she has developed fever, which right now is around 101.5. She’s taking paracetamol for the fever and a tablet of ivermectin everyday along with Zincovit and Vit-C. She’s also taking steam regularly along with a concoction twice a day.
Is there anything else she should be doing? Also, should we be expecting the symptoms to worsen anytime soon?
She isn’t in a good place right now mentally and I would love to know if there’s anything I could do to make her feel better.

She’s already doing everything I did. This should be enough for her recovery.

Most people have added an antibiotic course to their covid regimen, so maybe you can consult a doctor for that.

The fever should subside in a week’s time. Keep a check on her vitals, if she feels uneasy or her O2 seems off, consult a doctor. If the fever doesn’t subside in a week’s time please consult a doctor, he might recommend a scan or blood work.

Sucking on vitamin C and eating spicy foods was the way I coped with the cold symptoms. Also, lots of fluids. Finally, find something to keep her busy, just taking mind off covid would help. A lot of people have been having panic attacks these days which mimics breathlessness and other lung symptoms.

Edit: Food will taste off, but ensure she takes a complete diet.

@Villanelle thanks mate :D
Even she’s been taking an antibiotic for the past 2 days. The vitals are fine so far, SpO2 levels are nearly always above 95, apart from 2-3 instances of going down to 89-90 but then again back to 95+, so that’s assuring.
She’s pretty averse to eating spicy stuff though XD.

I personally feel a lot of the battle is won mentally but with all the negative news around and my mother’s side of the family refusing to even get themselves tested even after showing symptoms (despite countless pleas/ threats, apparently it’s just ‘flu season’), she’s not had a very rad time sitting alone.
However so far a couple of Pakistani flicks and her regular TV serials have helped her keep sanity so far.

Again, thanks, your experience with it somewhat assuages my and my family’s fears :)

If Fever continues for 2-3 days, please get her checked for Typhoid. My father had similar symptoms and turned out typhoid(in the middle stage of infection). It is not necessary to have problem with bowel movements, indigestion, or vomiting to have typhoid. Wait 2-3 days, if fever does not subside, go for the test.

@necromancer give her steam followed by gargles with betadine 4 times a day. Also give her tab solvin along with PCM everyday 3 times if she has fever. For cough, you can give Grilinctus  cough syrup. B complex, zinc tablet, vitamin C tablet should be given daily once. It's important to have minerals and vitamins in the body at this point and for food...give protein rich diet eg soybeans, paneer, milk, eggs. Coconut water is good too. In short give her a good diet and keep her hydrated. Also consult a doctor after RTPCR test report for further tests ( blood tests,  CT etc) if required.

@Manalimishra Thanks! Already doing most of what you’ve said and it has helped greatly. The fever has subsided since yesterday evening. All other vitals are also normal as of now. I’ll give more emphasis on the diet aspect since I too believe she doesn’t have a proper diet. Got coconuts today and will get paneer.
We still haven’t got the last RTPCR report so will wait and see if she feels totally fine by Tuesday-Wednesday, then will get another test done.
