In the national biodiversity act, 2002 - for filing IPR based on biological resources, do both indian national and foriegn nationals require permission from NBA or only foriegn nationals?
For IPR, both require permission from NBA except if it is related to human genetic material, in that case permission is not required.
What is the answer? I feel the 2nd statement is confusing. Indians are actually required to get permission only for certain specified activities like bio survey or some sort of commercial activity from SBB.
For 2nd Statement, for Indian citizens, SBB regulates access to resources while NBA for NRI and foreign nationals.
"To protect consumer intrest by providing essential agriculture commodities at reasonable rates by PDS"
Is this statement correct w.r.t objectives of Commission for agri cost and prices?
Does CACP get into essential commodities also?
It's official website doesn't say anything like this but a PYQ question marks this statement correct.
Here I think essential commodities is used in the general sense not necessarily commodities under the Essential Commodities Act.
Cannot find any reliable/updated compilation of mineral resources and their largest producer/s(in India as well as worldwide). Created my own list for quick revision from various sites but not sure of how accurate my drafted information is. Please have a look and point out if there is/are any incorrect info in this; would be of great help.
The red star indicates largest producer.
P.S. If anyone has made a summary of Indian Minerals Yearbook 2019, kindly share please.
Thanks for the list. I remember last year there was a thread where people posted about important topics and put up the relevant materials for prelims. Can someone post the link of that thread as I tried to search for it but could not find it.
Can president refuse to live in rasstrapati bhawan and also deny to have employments and allowance
Lol, on a lighter note this reminded me of Mrunal, Pan ki dukan type charcha nhi karni hai.
Also, for question regarding executive power, I do not know whether it clearly states but center can direct state to perform its executive function even though state declines but in the case of state it cannot transfer its executive power if Centre declines.

Which act introduced indirect elections for the first time??
Is it ICA, 1892 or Morley minto?
Some sources mention ICA, 1892 also..
Please clarifyICA Act 1892 introduced ‘Indirect’ elections
Morley Minto introduced ‘direct elections’
somebody please correct me if i am wrong.
Wasn't direct elections introduced in 1919?
@sstarrr earlier somewhere I told that major minerals are auctioned by central government while for minor minerals is done by state governments.
Sorry, it seems like this was incorrect, non coal mines have to be auctioned by respective state governments including major minerals. So minerals including major within territories of state are owned by respective state governments while minerals in territorial waters and EEZ are owned by central government.
Both A and B seems wrong, will go with B
Also, if somewhat helps, 1942 is also called as leaderless movement.
Guys, if a question asks that which act abolished East India Company, what should be the answer? As I read somewhere that 1858 act abolished it as an administrative body while as a company it was abolished somewhere around 1870.
I found in some places it is just written that East India Company was abolished through 1858 Act.
@Hououin_Kyouma lol no, baccha baap ki jagah kaise le lega
HC flexing its writ petition powers :p .
can anyone explain difference in saturated vs non saturated and transfat.
Context : fssai and WHO initiatives
Saturated fats are those in which no more hydrogen can be added as they have no double or triple bonds.
Unsaturated fats have double or triple bonds and more hydrogen can be added to it. To increase shelf life and save cost, company makes unsaturated oils by partially hydrogenating them but they are still unsaturated.
Also, saturated fats are more harmful compared to unsaturated fats but transfats are most harmful as explained by sjerngal below.
We need only face mask.(Though is there any difference between face cover and face mask?)
Bhai prelims dene jaa rhe hai ya money heist ka naya season banane :p.
