Is it really possible to score 150+ in these tests?
Civils Mains:2017,2018,2020,2021,Forest Mains:2021.
Hi @sjerngal ,
Need a suggestion regarding next 20 days plan !
Although i have covered Static syllabus twice (almost) ,but due to paucity of time i couldn't solve many test series (only gave forum simulators & vision abhyaas - scoring around 80 in both) + did 2004-21 PYQs.
in the next few days what would you suggest to people in my situation.
a) take more mocks
b) do 1/2 extra revisions
if possible kindly share your knowledge on how to proceed/ what you did for last 18 days before prelims :)
Last year, I stopped giving mocks 2 weeks before prelims.
I focussed on following things in decreasing order of priority.
- Revision of basic books (static)- must have revised minimum 5-6 times for each subject
- Solving Pyqs from 1995 onwards - three times
- Revising Current affairs 4-5 times
- Going from already solved mocks and attempting the questions that I had done wrong earlier
At this point focus more on revision. There will be an open simulator on 22nd. You may give that, but no mocks after that, in my opinion.
Avoid the FOMO and revise revise revise !!!
@shraddhas2223640 another section will hit you this year. :P
Bollywood has been in news a lot recently. I think we can expect some questions on them this time :p
Gave Abhyaas CSAT . Was able to attempt 38 in 2 hours with 33 correct. If anyone has given the CSAT UPSC before could one guide me as to how much variance there lies between that and the Abhyaas CSAT
There is a decent amount of variance in CSAT tests conducted by coaching and actual UPSC CSAT paper, so much so that there is also a large amount of variance in the answer keys taken out by coachings and the actual key released by UPSC.
I would suggest you to practise 2-3 UPSC CSAT papers in exam mode and match the answers with the official key . This will be a better way to judge ur performance.
I have been scoring in 70s in all FLTs. I know I lack hold on some static portion. Trying to revise more and more in coming days and hope I will be able to sail through Prelims. I somehow feel that now it is about holding nerves, not panicking and doing whatever I can in next few days.
I would suggest you to revise whatever you have done till now. Solve PYQs again and again. See what are the important topics which are repetitive and focus more on that.
Don;t think too much about scores, just revise revise revise whatever you have done till now....until you feel like puking !
Plz join this spreadsheet..to know average/max marks in a test.

Puked indeed today......had a muffin at 24 seven which looks to be very clean and hygienic (who knows what's inside)
Guys take care of your health!
@DM both will be incorrect because question is why IONOSPHERE facilitates radio communication?Ionosphere is charged layer which ionizes the atom.....this will be the only reason....in another way u can say1st is incorrect as ozone layer present in stratosphere not in Ionosphere2nd is incorrect bcoz radio wave have both long and short wave.....
Ty man
I know the reason. Someone has asked to share the question.
