How to find out the number of past attempts at CSE?

Take what@abc123 said very seriously. Especially since you are 30, just mention 2. But you will have to give roll numbers for those attempts or write "0" in DAF 1 after prelims, so don't stress.

And then 3 ways forward:

1. The result for CSE 2022 Mains will come out in May, right before prelims and a marks window will open. Go check your result for prelims for those two years in that hyperlink. If you were absent, it would not show any record; if you went to even one paper, it would mention the marks and AB in the other one. I have conclusive proof of this happening since I did the same thing. Here's the link I found, see if it has relevant year and exam https://upsconline.nic.in/marksheet/exam/marksheet_system/archives.php

2. File an RTI. I filed an RTI online and received a letter mentioning my previous roll numbers and attempts. Make sure you put in all possible ID information for them, your name, Parents info, PAN, Passport, or whatever you may have used as ID card. Worked for me.

3. Check your Google timeline history in google maps, photos history in Google photos/ backup app for the prelims date that year. The good people at google never forget if you had the right settings.

Goodluck!

@LuckyKatt Thank you for the detailed info.

Will file for RTI again, per your suggestion.

I checked the link and it seems they currently display results from 2018 onwards.

Mine was 2014 & 2015 but will anyway check the link again in May 2023 to see if there is any change there.

You mentioned, ''But you will have to give roll numbers for those attempts or write "0" in DAF 1 after prelims, so don't stress''. So, bottomline being it is more or less fine to put in ''0'' in DAF1 in case I don't find out my roll number and attempts through RTI?

Thank you once again for your valuable inputs. :-)

Yes, correct. The DAF 1 itself says put "0" if you don't remember roll number, if that was your concern. Attaching a screenshot of the form for your review.

I am glad you found it useful. Cheers!
