UPSC maintains a foolproof database of previous attempts of all candidates. There are instances of candidates having been barred from UPSC exams for 10 years for mentioning less no than actual no of attempts. If you are not sure, just mention two. UPSC doesnt respond to such queries as it imposes extra burden on them.
