@TETRACYCLINEMorality matlab that value one? I wrote on it. I fundamentally built on the concept of values being a necessary social construct, but in never being anything more than artificial. That every human is born like any other creature, but the need of a civilized society requires some rules to be followed, and that these rules over time came to be sanctified, became values. And thus the concept of humanity took root, the philosophy of humanity being a systematic belief in values, where values are the rules, spoken or tacit, that maintain harmony and form the bed rock of civilization. Then I expanded to religion, how in ancient times a ruler found it difficult to maintain order, and some thinkers at the very top came together and manipulated the human race, of a certain being that is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent who watches over your every action, where each such action is judged and punished or rewarded accordingly, and thus the term "God Fearing"became a compliment, rather than the abhorrent fear psychosis it promulgated. Then I went to what happens if a human does not possess the said values. As an African proverb goes, a child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth". And thus, it is vital that every member of a civilized society is indoctrinated in some given values for the civilization to remain flourishing, or at the very least, survive. And thus values are nothing but glorified rules, which inculcate humanity in a human being, born indistinguishable from an animal. And that life's aim is not to be fundamentally human, but fundamentally humane. And in conclusion, values are not what humanity is, but what it ought to be, an endless pursuit of perfection always aimed and seldom achieved. But it is our rock to be rolled repeatedly back to the mountain, and while doing so, in the immortal words of Camus, to imagine Sisyphus happy.
@TETRACYCLINEWhen you have to write 12 bloody pages based on an ambiguous one liner. can any two essays ever be the same?
@TETRACYCLINEBut I do think we both have written the same thing, different paths to the same destination. You went micro to macro, individual to family to society, and I started from the broad since the beginning, that the entire civilization needs some rules, and over time these rules became values
So, if a guy named Manish says my name starts with M and ends with anish, and someone figures out the whole name, can they sue for violation of privacy? Not gonna lie, my biggest attraction to discussions here are extreme levels of unhinged and spurious shots of knowledge, which I harvest for boosting my own confidence, that this is my competition. And whenever I come across a genuinely good answer, I learn, A win-win situation, if there ever was one.
@BlazeDid you notice the subtle change of tone, a hint of panic, and all the mask of Buddha like calm and maturity fell away. I would suggest him yoga, or vipassana.
@AequitasAre there any law against making someones identity known online, from sources presented by the target himself? I mean, if i slip up and give away glaring hints to my own name, and it gets figured out, that should not be enough to instigate a law suit?
@BlazeDoxing is not illegal
And what if some idiot doxxes himself?
@BlazeShould I take a leap then, and try to unveil the legendary DKT, or, for the semblance of decency, let the matter rest. Something about the lateness of results has brought out the worst in me, and I'm itching to inflict misery on someone, anyone.
@BlazeYou sir, are a better man than I am.
@IthriveoncocaineAnd aadhaar's phone app is called mAadhaar...
@Hakunah_MatataIt often happens that the literature you consume reflects in recent expositions, and wears off with time. As I'm currently reading Naipaul, I find myself quite lucid with language. Alas, like everything, it will regress to mean in no time.
@AkkkuAre you indicting me as someone not at all concerned with others'identities? In the words of Sri Sri Sri DKT, case kar doonga haramiyon, for defamation!!!
And as far as doxxing is concerned, India Today has done something remarkable today. Go watch JNU tapes. Hope yet remains.
@DKTsorry
@Haltit's hilarious that the guy cannot comment on this, for then his previous comment would not be the second last one
