Best for an individual is not necessarily best for the society
... this best for individual may lead to dictatorship.
Naxalism, Maoism and terrorism are examples of this. Naxals consider their ideology as best for society. ISIS chief considers that whatever is best according to him as individual will be best for society. But, this has led to mass killing of innocents and disturbance in peace.
This is also anti democratic as the democracy provides for Right and participation of all sections of society.Best of society may not be best for an individual
For long, LGBTQ community was being opressed by society at large for violation Of societal norms. In sabarimala tmple too, women of particular age group are denied entry for protection of societal norms. Right to privacy is another step by supreme court to protect individual rights. Rights of minorities should not be subjected to whims and fancies of majority.
Conclusion - values of individual and values of society should reinforce each other. While guaranteeing rights to individual, our constitution has also provided for fundamental duties towards society. Leaders should go for Gandhian way of emancipation of society at large than adhering to Hitler way of imposing his will on society. There should be golden mean of protecting the best for society while also ensuring the best for the individual.

Yes, this happens. In upsc capf 2014 too, obc cut off was higher than general.
The main reason is age relaxation provided to obc, sc and st candidates. There is almost 7-10 years age relaxation to SC and 3-4 years for obc. And those who claimed age relaxation will not be considered in general merit list but rather only for their reservation category list..
But, since EWS donot have benefit of age relaxation anywhere, their cut off will be lower than general in any case, be it the difference of 1 mark.
N.B. - This is my humble submission as per my information. Please donot bombard me for any misinterpretation.

10% seats have been reserved for EWS. So, if we exclude seats for ews then the seats of general category is almost same as last year...
Thus, from perusal of above points, we can conclude that EWS impact will be negligible... Though, impact will be felt of gs questions being lengthy and almost all huminities paper being generalistic compared to previous year.

Yes... and more than 50,000 people are in services including 3500 IAS and 4000 IPS approx. If all of them get info about whats going inside Upsc, UPSC will become an institution of mockery.
I donot think an IRTS posted in Thiruanantpuram might tell anything about whats going in upsc. Or even an IPS/IAS posted in Nalanda could say something.

I had attended at Patliputra stupa at patna. Igatpuri and Bodhgaya has good facilities and guidance. You can register for any nearest centre.
They have special diet plan and sleep pattern.
10 day vipasana program is free of cost for evryone. Ms Kiran bedi had arranged it for all Tihar inmates.

My cousin recently joined combined medical service of UPSC. For combined medical service for obc, the certificates were verified with the help of local authorities. Further, it was verified only if the certificates are original. No further property details verification or anything was done.
But, problem may arise if someone complaints or something. So, u should take a wise decision.

No.... before EWS, caste certificates need to be made. And those castes should not be in other reserved categories.

Yes, and early hearing did take place on 6th jan, which was also the final hearing. CAT has reserved the order and can come today or tomorrow. DoPT had to submit one document which was submitted on 7th. So, everyone is waiting for CAT order as of now.

Seats to kamengi hi bro... during NDA rule of 1999-2003, barely 300-350 vacancies used to come. So, significant fall in vacancies should not surprise any one. NDA is pro business and not pro - govt job. Congress is pro-govt employment since its inception. This is not stereotyping by me but only an observation.
Job leave krne ka decision apne family m discuss krke lena thik rhta hai... business families k pass back up rhta hai but service oriented families m back up issue v hai. So, family background is crucial in deciding to leave job.

Recruiters are not hesitant. It is the government departments which sends less number of vacancies/posts as requisition to the recruiters like upsc and ssc. Govts donot want to spend on salaries. Government servants per person in India is lower than any BRICS country,USA and uk. We have added huge population in last 20 years which is equal to population at independence i.e. 44 crores. But, still the total number of government servants are decreasing day by day.

Further, govt departments promote inefficiency. If u r active, u shall be given huge workload and additional charge. If u r less active, u shall not be given active department and no additional charge.
I was working in Bihar govt and was constantly given many assignments. The people who were not writing gud notings or inefficient at drafting were left idle.
However, the younger generation donot want to remain idle. Any gazetted lever officer, these days, wants to remain highlighted and works hard to remain in limelight and get good/powerful posting. Further, everyone works hard to grow networks and contacts and get oppurtunities like foreign training, awards and appreciation by political chiefs.

Yes, my one college mate and one officemate got Egypt through Indian foreign service. Both qualified upsc cs 2016 exam. Now, they are wroking in Cairo, away from home and “Power”. In solitude, they keep posting about egyptian dishes.

Last year cut off was 774 for general and 732 for obc.
Keeping in view the increase in seats and GS papers as well as optional, cut off is presumed to decrease.
So, my humble submission in this regard for cut offs would be 750-760 for general, 745-750 for EWS and 715-720 for OBC.
