@AzadHindFauz
Any information if there has been an ‘summary’ order at CAT? Sometimes benches give the gist of the order but reserve the judgement to come up with the final order later
@RaufNa
I can’t find it reserved for 7th. Can you share a screenshot?
@suniljan
I think one reason is that of the people who went to Medical School for MBBS, very few people in the EWS got through the general category. As a result, there are very few poor doctors applying. In a couple of years this difference would reduce
@mannemvasukinandan701
Given how competitive it is and how few government seats there are, many people from EWS can’t afford the expensive coaching which has become almost necessary to clear it. Thus of the people with MBBS, only few fit the EWS category
@mannemvasukinandan701
But I don’t think that will be the case in UPSC. My hunch is that EWS cutoffs would be more than SC and ST cutoffs. It might even be higher than OBC cutoff though not 100% sure there.
@AzadHindFauz
Any chance if the order would be passed today itself after submissions by both parties?
@Caesar
CSE 2017 gave a lot of marks for Essay, GS3. This didn’t happen in 2018. That’s why the marks fell
@AzadHindFauz
Any updates on the submissions or the order of the bench?
@AzadHindFauz
Do you happen to know which of the two members on the bench is on leave tomorrow?
@AzadHindFauz
Any idea if this could delay the process too?
@AzadHindFauz
Oh my bad. But that is good to know
@White_Dust
Maybe cases which are up for final verdict are not listed in the causelist. I’m not certain here, but causelist is defined as the cases which have yet to be heard. As this case is reserved for verdict maybe that’s not the case
I guess this delay non sense has given me so much free time that I went and checked the causelist of the last two months more or less. And during this period everyone except the Chairman’s bench has pronounced some cases or other. Almost scary to think, but this trend shows possibility that it might get delayed beyond this week too
@Ms-dhoni
I’m not too sure honestly. I’ve asked a few lawyer friends of mine and apparently some courts and judges don’t always get pronouncements listed in the causelist. But those judges apparently are a rarity
@Ms-dhoni
Usually around 6:00 PM going by past few days
@zombieland
As@AzadHindFauzmentioned, there is no listing. So maybe the verdict might not be out. And if no verdict then no result.
I really am hoping that Chairman’s bench pronounces verdict even though it’s not on causelist.
@mannemvasukinandan701
Still the drama continues
@AzadHindFauz
I was looking at the causelist and saw Member AK Bishnoi wasn’t there. Any idea if that’s the reason for no pronouncement?
@Tauriel
Look at the date, it’s for 9th December. This is the order which was given earlier, causing the delay in the first place
@Ms-dhoni
Going by causelist it looks like the second member is absent tomorrow as his name isn’t on any bench. So, going by this alone, next week only I guess
@AzadHindFauz
Please give updates about the verdict as and when you get some information
@mannemvasukinandan701
Any idea what this is. Has it been postponed again?@AzadHindFauz
@AzadHindFauz
Thank god. Thanks for the update.
@AzadHindFauz
And how many of all the petitioners does this comprise?
@TETRACYCLINE
They do it in the evening. But both the parties receive full copies of verdict immediately
@kspdupsc
Can you share the link for the telegram group?
@kspdupsc
Thanks
@adhikari
Not yet
@TETRACYCLINE
I am beginning to think that online final order isn’t uploaded the same evening unlike in HCs or SC. I checked final order for a matter disposed on the 10th and the final order for it hasn’t yet been uploaded
@AzadHindFauz
If I’m not mistaken your source happens to be one of the applicants right. So did the order come in their favour?
@ManchesterUnited
It is akin to the Lohri celebration in north India
@NadigVinay
Yes
@majormiketango
However if UPSC moves the HC, then like numerous petetions in the past, HC could grant ‘stay on admission’.
That would imply the CAT verdict stayed until further hearing. And in the meanwhile process goes on
@mannemvasukinandan701
This would practically imply that UPSC wins the case
@mannemvasukinandan701
Further, SC and HCs rarely go against bodies like UPSC and ECI in their functioning. But that’s just trend. We just have to wait for this drama to take its course
@AzadHindFauz
I know this is a rumour but apparently UPSC has sought clarification from CAT on removing ambiguity. Do you happen to know how long that process usually takes?
@Champak
Yeah he seems too confident
@BulbulSen
Yes please tell what they said exactly
