when you order a big pizza with the original intentions to satisfy your curiosity about it as well as get full, that is, satisfy your hunger..... and achieve them both with half of that pizza, with other half lying there ready to share the night with your dustbin..... how do you measure the paisa-wasool index of that pizza? By the question that whether the pizza satisfied the original objectives that triggered the very order of the pizza or simply by the fact that you couldn't finish half of that implying you could consume only half the money-equivalent of what you actually paid? Obviously this evaluation varies from person to person.

A wise person will focus on the satisfaction and quality of pleasure that one half of pizza gave him, ignoring the wastage. A relatively incompetent person will spend the night with regrets and thoughts of wasting half the pizza that despite best efforts, he couldn't finish.

So i believe, a wise evaluator will ignore unfinished space ( uneaten half of pizza) and prioritise quality of what's written ( pleasure derived from one half of pizza) but not everyone is necessarily wise. your prayers should focus on giving your copies a wise evaluator. that's all i guess.

And yes by hook or crook, by sama dama danda or bheda, diagrams, flow charts, maps and graphs, it's possible to fill every square inch of each of those 50 pages in 2:55 hours and relax for 5 minutes after that, although  i could never do any such thing whatsoever.

Filling three pages gives a sense of completion. It has some psychological effect. If one is leaving one page blank in many questions it will give impresaion that something is missing.

Here the role of diagrams charts and big font comes. They help in writing more content in less words with filling of pages.

Also if one is writing 250 words in two pages it means smaller font size and difficulty in reading. It may or may not affect marks. It will dependent upon wisdom of examiner.

If someone is writing in good font and completion of pages with relevant content, dependence on mood or on his wisdom will get reduced

paper completetion is overrated...i got 105 in gs 2 last to last year and did only 16.5 questions...i completed paper in gs 4 and got 66.... quality>>>>>>quantity

Bro 105 last in GS2 was not a good number. It was slightly lenient last year. Large number pf candidates got in range of 115-120. U atleast 5 marks below average.

Had u completed paper then it might have been possible that u could have got in range of 110 to 115. Nd remember after rank 100 fight is for 1 marks and not 10 marks. Nd u have just lost 5 to 10 marks

i took tests in lukman. there he had changed my complete approach. he was of the opinion that first you list all options available because that way examiner knows ki we know the thing and he immediately sees the options. then draw a table and do merit demerit thing. good thing is upsc also asks that way. initially my approach was to list each option and do merit demerit there itself but thats not how upsc wants it. but the issue again is that i dont think all parts carry equal weightage. listing 4 options having 4 marks and evaluating all having 4 marks doesnt seem very judicious allocation of marks

I also took case study classes at Lukmaan. But i did not follow this approach due to time crunch. Repeating oltions two times or not writing options while evaluating:i found both problematic. So i went with traditional approach i.e

a+b: option nd evaluation together.

Atleast it helped in completing paper. God knows how much marks upsc will deduct

@Panchayat Its a race against time.
Everyone has to do some tradeoff.

also we should not ignore 2 pagers and take them for granted. let's not forget they carry 130 marks against 120 of case studies. giving 100 options per case study and then ruining 2 pagers is equally disastrous.

For average candidates getting extraordinary marks in case studies is difficult.  Generally they will write three options. Two extreme and one middle path. Not many candidates can write innovative options.

However, in section A there is more scope of improvisation like use of quotes; good examples, counter arguments etc. thus more scope of differentiation in marks. When we give less time to section A like 1hr 20 minutes 3-4 questions get compromised. So one can find many candidates giving mains after mains but getting marks in range of 90 to 100.

:cold_sweat:is psir most crowded ?? kya psir ki butchering hogi ??

Bro kisi ka butchering nhi hoga. Anthro + socio m enough analytical questions the jo marks main differentiation kr dega (within optional). Optional koi sa bhi ho at the end top m rhoge toh marks upar hi rhega. Optional k toppers k marks m convergence rehta h. Almost sabka 290 se 305 k beech rehta.

Baki 2018 se ho hi log keh rhe anthro ka pub ad wala haal hoga. Har saal ka ye apprehension h. Jbki matter krta h apne optional m top 10 percent m rehna. 2000 ne likha h toh top 200 m. 200 likha h toh top 20 m.

Everyone hopeful for UPSC interview should get their final degrees from college in meantime to prevent last minute rush once mains result are declared.

Even myself in college today for getting the final degree (provisional will not work) as same is required for state PCS interview as well.

P.S- Got to know about importance of final degree during interview from toppers who narrated how they got shocker of lifetime in crucial 1 hour before interview when UPSC staff simply proclaim that your candidature could be cancelled due to lack of final degree (Offcourse they do give grace time later)

Yeah but  it is already well established that there is no need to panic. Even if some one goes to interview without any document (excluding admit card or i card) upsc will not cancel the candidature. They give sufficient time to produce documents.

Leaked toolkit from Lowerta Thunderbird “How to become an insider”

1. Common sense says result will come after 60 days average.

2. 26-27 nov is that day.

3. so result should be around this day.

4. start creating mahual

5. Raise bp of aspirants

6. Pretend that result was bound to come but operator watched webseries on ULLOO. SO can’t upload result.

7. Hence delay in result.

on serious note:  authentic information comes few hours before release of result and not days.

How many above average answers one must write out of 20Qs to get decent(above 100) marks in GS?

14-15 good attempt + 4-5 avg or below avg ang 1-2 name sake attempt generally fetches average marks. For instance around 100 in GS 1 or above 90 in GS3

So the date is now 5th or 6th december.

I think this was the main issue behind delay in result. They had to decide how many candidates have to be called for interview 8×× 2.5 or 1011×2.5.

All these scaling issue as raised by insiders was a hoax.
