Mission Mains 2021: GS 4 Ethics Discussion

@D503 If we do not respect the confidentiality of confession and start cooperating with the legal authorities, over time those who commit crimes will stop confessing it at all. In whivh case, the religious authority will no longer be able to help authorities, further it also reduces the avenues of a spiritual redemption of the criminal which might lead him to a better path in life. So I think while it might be a good idea in short run, to solve specific cases, in the long run it is problematic.
Now the challenge is to write 4 more points on this. 😅😅

1. Violation of Professional ethics- Because of fundamental principle of Innocent until proven guilty.

2. Violation of social duty of a lawyer to represent anyone who can pay(and even those who cannot)

3. Violation of Constitutional right to be represented by a lawyer of choice.
