Everyone who wrote mains this time I would really like to know what worked for you guys this time in prelims?
Considering the kind of unexpected paper that it was this time, still people were able to get such good marks in prelims and able to clear it, I would really like to know what worked for you and what was your 'strategy' ?
If you are above 85 according to the keys, there aren't many issues in the knowledge part. I for one feel sometimes we cannot muster enough courage of taking risks in the paper. Please analyse your performance and if you find that you lacked courage in attempting questions, solve tests to get that roadblock out of the way.
The calculation is pretty simple. If you attempt 10 and mark 7 incorrect with only 3 correct, your net score is still positive. Therefore risk-taking is important in the hall.
Regarding other things, as cliche as it sounds, Static is the king.
Is this one center? Any idea if they kept the same mains center last year too?

I was kinda hoping for UPPCS Bhavan, don’t know why they went with this - this one was bad.
Last year it was UPPCS Bhavan. And this year, it was torture.
Btw@wellofsnakes , we mortals cannot grasp the ideas in the heads of UPSC Gods. :P
For all the fellow peeps like me who could not clear mains, should we start a thread like what possibly could have went wrong and brainstorm? We can't be repeating the same mistakes again.

To all others, please don't give up hope. Please look for alternatives if your attempt is getting over. Contact me if you are in mechanical and need some relevant referral in a core job. I have been in the job for 3 years only but will surely help if possible.
