IB Interview?Okay so, I had read all NCERTs, Laxmikant and my notes of it a week before SFG began cause I had an exam coming up which now stands postponed. However, I've read polity a couple of times now and yet, my score isn't how it should be just 5 months before D-day. Any suggestions are well, thanks in advance!
I think the answer should be "d". He is asking the constitutional status of India, not the text in the preamble.@hashtag2020 What was the exact constitutional status of India on 26th January, 1950?
- A) A Democratic Republic
- b) A Sovereign Democratic Republic
- c) A Sovereign Secular Democratic Republic
- d) A Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic
#MeTooHi, I have issues with the following questions:
Q. 17. Qualification to be a judge of a HC- It's given in the answer that he should be a "district judge" for 10 yrs but as per the provision he should be holding a "any judicial office in the territory if India" for 10 years. Though the outcome of this provisions makes the district judge eligible implicitly, however that can't be mentioned while quoting the explicit provision.
Q. 24 As this question is a PYQ, as per UPS official answer key to question no 13 in SET A, the answer should be D.
https://www.upsc.gov.in/sites/default/files/CSP_2020_GS_Paper-1.pdf (question 13)
https://www.clearias.com/up/upsc-cse-prelims-2020-answer-key-paper-1.pdf (A. 13)
Q. 35 Constitutional amendment inconsistent with FR is void- this is false. Because under Art 13(4) constitutional amendments are kept out of purview of article 13. Hence, Constitutional amendments violating the basic structure will be void, but not just the FRs.
Dear @SFGTeam , I'd posted a query wrt Q. 35 on this thread as well as on the link provided for posting of doubts. However, this hasn't been addressed in the corrigendum. Please clarify, thank you! :)
43)Consider the following statement
1.Official language of the Union is used as link language for communication between various states in India.
2.Two or more states are free to agree to use any of the regional languages of the states for communicationbetween themselves
Which of the statements given above is/are correct
a) 1 only
b) 2 only
c) Both 1 and 2
d) neither 1 nor 2
Article 343 declares that the official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script.
English is used for official purposes of the union but is not the official language.
Article 346 says "The language for the time being authorised for use in the Union forofficial purposes(which is English) shall be the official language for communication between one State and another State and between a State and the Union
Hence answer must be "d",na?
Q.20)With referenceto the electoral reforms implemented in recent years, consider the following statements:
The political partiescannot receive more than₹2,000as cash donations from an individual at a time.
This statement is given as correct in the solution. But what I understood from Laxmikant is that political parties can receive more than 2000, but they just have to inform the ECI.
Can someone please clarify?
Checked the exact provision in the act. It says that donations beyond 2000 should be through cheque or electronic transaction only. So"Cash"donations beyond 2000 cannot be made.@KMalone Even I got this question wrong. I read in Laxmikanth that the ceiling of 2000 was for anonymous cash donations. Above that, political parties can accept but make a not of the individual.Checked The Hindu online, and it says 2000 is the cash donation limit for political parties. There is no mention of anonymity or anything.
Also regarding statement 2 of 8th ques; In spectrum page 89 it is given that the English posted a resident in nawabs court after plassey.Q18 most other ans keys say nizamat of arcot was estb by aurangzeb and was not made out of Hyderabad
Q11 First anglo maratha war..Madhavrao had already died..how come it was a result of power struggle b/w him and Raghunathrao?
does someone else has these doubts?
Adding to this, Q8: Residents were the heads of contingent army of Subsidiary Alliance? weren't they just agents of the company ?
Q.8)With reference to the Nehru Report, consider the following statements:
1. It was drafted by a sub-committee including Tej Bahadur Sapru, Subhas Chandra Bose and B. R Ambedkar as
its members.
2. The recommendations of the committee were unanimous.
3. The report confined itself only to British India and excluded princely states.
Which of the statements given above is/are correct?
Isnt statement 2 right? It is not asking whether all the recommendations were unanimous.
