Hello@neerajrathod

Here are some inputs from me. In Paper 2, you must make one pager notes on each topic and from what I know speaking to Philo candidates over the past few years - both before they wrote the exam, and after getting a good rank, these are some of the things.

  1. Current Affairs Linkages have been awarded marks . Quoting from current fetches marks in paper 2
  2. Between Socio Political and Philosophy of Religion, people who have attempted socio political have gotten better marks, this is because in Religion, people have written generic answers - because the questions "look common sensical". On the other hand, people write more theoretical answers when it comes to SP.
  3. Also in PoR make sure you quote the thinkers of PoR, For example, everyone knows Pascal's Wager, that choosing between whether God exists or not, it is more profitable to believe, because if its true one will be rewarded. Now people dont mention it in their answer, and except that an exact question on Pascal's wager will be asked. This wont happen. You have to write answers including the thinkers, and don't wait for a question on that particular thinker.
  4. Keep a tab on Current Events like George Floyd etc. Make sure you are pre-pared to include the case in your answer - and you WILL have scope to include it in some answer.
  5. Have some ancedotes ready for some questions like between equality and liberty debate, you can quote an animal fable - " in the fable of Antisthenes, the lions said to the hares when, in the council of beasts, the latter began haranguing and claiming equality for all — “Where are your claws?" ( Will Durant - Story of Philosophy ). I would recommend reading the book if you have time. And who are we kidding - you do have time this year.
  6. Do refer to wikipedia for all topics and pick up things from the first paragraph, It has also helped people score better.

I did ping Saloni , who has secured some under 30 rank last year, since she was my MGP + CA student in her last attempt, but I was not able to get a good answer out of her. She did offer me to connect to a batchmate of hers who got 319 marks with a rank in 120s,  but I could not follow up on that. Will try to reach out to him, or if he is reading this, if he can offer some pointers, it will be great!

One more thing, do not involve Paper 1 in answering Paper 2. I mean people who have put lot of Ramanuja and Shankara ( Sovereign State is like the Brahma of Shankara is OK, but its a slippery slope from there ) Avoid.
