Planning to start preparation after 4 years of gap 30 year old

Hello Guys,

I was preparing for UPSC CSE in 2015-2016 and due to some family responsibilities i had stop the study and start working but now I am working for MNC and have some time to study. Right now i am 30 year old and have one child.

I am planning to study while working i can easily make 3-4 hours for my study but i know i have to be consistent with the study and consistency is the key for UPSC examination.

I have an idea about examination so i will not spend time on finding books, resources, coaching etc.

if you have any suggestions for me then please let me know guys

Thanks

Similar situation. Preparing with a newborn. Last attempt. My suggestions - since we have limited time, Minimum sources + Maximum Revisions. Also, focus on important static subjects like polity, modern history, environment, 1 source for current, important topics like it, mapping, schemes and revision of static. If you can't make notes, la excellence's ready reckoner for static is good for revision. Don't try to be perfect. Maximize completion of syllabus then revise. Lastly, utilize time well with targeted studies and pomodoro.

Same here, after a gap of 3 years.

My bet, is my own notes (atleast for static portion).  I have already made a list of factoids / superlatives for prelims so it will save time.

For current use any of topicwise compilation (vision or insights). Attempt atleast 29 question everyday. And in last 2 weeks one full length mock (+ analysis) everyday.

Revise current notes twice before prelims. And ensure you revise factoids and superlatives one day before exams (eg SCO HQ in Beijing not Shanghai)

Since you are working, you can follow AIR 54 Sumit Kumar Rai's strategy i.e @IWRA on forum, here!
