[ Official ] How was the Prelims 2021 paper?

I am new to this platform. Saw many veterans in comment sections. What can be the expected cut off for IFoS? Any idea, guess...

@sleeplessnights89 110 this time, when CS will be 720 approx. In 2019, there were 90 seats and CS had some 900 seats. At that time the respective cut off were 116 and 98. But in 2020 when CS seats decreased by some 100, the cut off of CS also decreased to 92.5. In 2021 again the expected cut off is on the lines of 2020.
Just gave you all the data to predict it. :D

So, could we make a consensus on the answer of Ayyangar committee question?

@shashi_rane786589 I think either B or C. As I saw an official document mentioning exact statement 2 lines. So leftfaithinmyself is actually right.

I find a broad consensus in the answers of all major coaching for much controversial questions "made up on forum". Like right to city, EPFO casual labour, state defination, Chenab, Synthetic media, Mitrocondrial disease, fedreralism features, British Parliament comparision and even Magnetite particles.

Dispute lies for copper, pressure cooker which are open to interpretation.

Looks like somewhere most of us are dragged in a cycle of wishful thinking, over thinking and insecuri

@monisha27 State - A
Mitocondria - C
Virus - Bacteria and Fungi (Virus is not included)

I have not marked these answers in OMR. But most coaching have consensus over these answers.

Not debating .. but i sincerely think we are overthinking w.r.t the Virus question. NCERT mein diya hain ki Virus can't grow in synthetic medium toh i think UPSC will stick by it.

PS - I have marked D too. I desperately want u to be right too.

Yea true. Even I marked D but the answer as per experts is not D. Virus is not considered to be cultured in synthetic media.

@prachimalik1121311 I have seen your posts on this question before as well. May be the answer is D (all of the above). But as far as answer keys are concerned, almost all of them are united with Bacteria and Fungi as answer, excluding Virus.

There might be research going on, the interpretation of synthetic media for UPSC, coachings and researchers might vary. I dont know much about this topic.

Though I have marked D and I will be happy if they count virus (D as answer). For marks calculation I am considering it negative for now.

because upsc cutoffs don't go that low, in 2020 few questions were elusive like batman. 2021 was bright and clear paper as broad daylight. so i am afraid about cutoff crossing 100 for obc if that happens it'll be real pain. may shree ram and bholenath save everyone and bring cutoff to below 90

masteroptimist tum toh pessimist nikle XD

Haha... You read his comment "illiterate people". To agree and disagree is own thing. To call them illiterate is other. 😂
