[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

@Navya No, it's clearly mentioned that Deuskar wrote in Maharashtra. So even if the use of the term 'Desh' didn't refer to India as a nation, it is alluded in the article that the termmight  have been used w.r.t Maharashtra and not Bengal.

Most of the coaching institutes have gone haywire when it comes to passages in CSAT. Even for the most obvious ones they've given absurd answers. :/

@Rakhmabai I have marked A.

@Rakhmabai Please don't rely on CL answer keys. Even I got panicky when I checked. I cross-checked their previous Csat answerkeys (2018 and 2019) with the UPSC answer key. They mostly get 5-6 RCs wrong.

For, Asset allocation- have marked B( though now I believe that the answer is A)
FDI-B
Dam: D

Didn't attempt the question on gas based economy.

I don't understand the fuss about the question on preamble.

SC can (and does) use it while interpreting the constitution. Isn't it?

Several laws have been made in concurrence with the preamble.

@logan Even by that logic, Maharashtra is the place of origin. (His ancestors also belonged to Maharashtra)

@logan I believe it is neither. He wrote in general about the economic exploitation of India by the Britishers.

@Rakhmabai This is my take on the question regarding Economic freedom:

I think statement 1 becomes too far stretched an assumption with the use of the word 'invariably'.

2nd statement: No where the passage alludes that educationensureseconomic freedom.

3rd seems fair.

I might be wrong but this is how I reasoned.

@gjsai the 3rd option says " Applications that depend on basic features of blockchain can be developed without anybody's permission".

How's this wrong?

Also, the mere fact that Deuskar was related to both Bengal and Maharashtra, makes it hard to believe that the term was used specifically for Bengal.

Nowhere in the constitution it is mentioned that the parliament necessarily needs to meet for a certain minimum number of days. It keeps on varying.

@Aurang_mirasudar But the article is from 2018.

@Aurang_mirasudar My contention was based on the WEF article you shared which mentions that AI has already been authoring poems, generating movie trailers (i.e. in 2018).

Also, I no longer see the point debating this question. Let UPSC decide.

Peace. :)

@Equalizer I am quite sure that the criteria for Transgenders is limited to Delhi. It is on the NALSA FAQ page.

@rafael I come from Arts background. This was my second attempt. First was 2018(didn't appear for 2019). In 2018 I attempted around 51-52 questions. This year I could attempt only 44.

I'm heavily reliant on RCs in CSAT. But it took me around 1.5 hours to make sense of all the passages. This also cost me few of the other simpler questions which I had to leave.
I ultimately ended up attempting all the RC questions barring 1 and was really lucky in getting only 3-4 wrong.Rest, I was skimming through the paper to get to the simplest ones and score.
Math questions, most of it didn't look solvable to me,therefore didnt attempt.
This served as a good lesson for me. Not going to rely solely on RCs in future.
