[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Meri alag hi samasya ho gayi hai. Answersheet me count koya tha to 79 bubbles the, aur question paper me 83 dikh rahe. Samajh me nahi aa raha ki sahi wale miss huwe hain ya galat wale? Aur naye calculation se marks me ab aur variation ta gayi. Ab 91-102 ghoom raha marks. Khararnak anxiety hai, considering it’s my last attempt.

I am already 31. Was in a well paying job. Quit kiya in 2018, to dedicate more time to preparation, after successive close failures in prelims. Score 114 in prelims last year. Couldn’t clear mains.

And this year again, I am stuck at God knows where.

Have rejected good job offers from

abroad last year for preparation. 

And when I quit my job, and took this course, people close to me abandoned me, including my fiance.

I have paid a huge price for this journey, and cannot recall when I slept for 6 hours last time. 

And after all this, UPSC throws this lottery selection system paper.

I question all rhe wisdoms now like “Hardwork pays off”, “Sacrifices pay off”, and “Upsc sets paper for selecting civil servants”.

I lost 4 years, a job, family life, fiance, self confidence, socially vibrant life, and trust in the system.

I will do something good for sure, but the dream of be the part of policy making, and implementation is at God’s mercy now.

Sorry, I made it a sad story. But there is a reason for it.

Those who are reading it, must know that this exam is not just about hardwork, but about strong luck factor too. When all things are in place, then only you will get through. It’s our duty to work hard, but that alone won’t get you through. There are things beyond that too. Much like Nepolean. He was not just brilliant, but extremely lucky too, and he always made sure he chose his commanders who were invariably lucky people. 

Anyways fingers crossed.

UPSC can do anything. 

Seeing my last year prelims marks, it's 14 marks more than Shankar keys.

This year, I am hinging between 92-102. Hopes high now!

PS: Mains ke marks na puchhna. Hindi, Essay aur Ethics ke alawa kahi 100 v cross nahi hua

Might be the case, but none of the keys were taking me beyond 108, but as per my instincts, I was getting 114.

This year, instincts say 100.

For CSAT, there is not point going with coaching keys. Noone can tell answers for passages. UPSC only passes the verdict.

Same. History optional. Abysmally low marks in GS1,2,3.
Good marks in Essay, ethics!
Optional marks too were shocker.

I have only 2 improvement strategy.

Improve handwriting, and pray for luck.

It's a number game, and in mains, we are not being judged based on our knowledge, but our presentation and human factor of the evaluator.

abd no point discussion. Because, whatever UPSC provides as the key, it cannot be questioned even if it is false.

So, agains time to move forward. My only desire here is that hardwork should be rewarded accordingly.

Nahi, abhi v doubtful nahi hai. West Texas Intermediate nahi bola yaha par.

Bhai, mera to last attempt hai. Technically 5th considering my age. But maine to pichhle 2 prelims se kam hi mark kiya. Only because main 3rd round jaa hi nahi paaya.

Na bhai. Transgender nahi hoga. Senior citizen is speicifcally mentioned on NALSA website. But both Trans and Senior citizens are eligible depending on states.
So ek v poora sahi option nahi tha,
But I went with 1, 4 because I read the keyword senior citizens specifically somewhere.

If you are following the thread, at least 7-8 questions have been marked as doubtful.

But considering you get 96.7, chances of clearing is high.

Bhai chances kaafi high hain, because CSAT me tough raha aur gs v, to cut off 98 se niche hi jaega.
It can even fall to 92.
I am not an expert, but as per me, not just the toughness of paper, but the shock factor also forces cut off up and down. This paper was a shock on account of toughness, composition, and length. 

I personally feel people above 90 should study(though I am also a victim of anxiety). Upsc keys can swing the marks by 15 in either direction. 

So ideally agar anxiety issues hain aur padhai nahi ho rahi, to wahi karo jo main kar raha.

Ethics padho. Kuchh nahi to philosphers ki ideology. Usse generic subjects se door rahoge to tension nahi hogi, aur GS4 v prepare ho jaega.

Bilkul sahi baar. Mera last attempt. Aur ideally iske pahle to pata chal hi jaata tha ki hoga ya nahi because answers right hain ya wrong pata hota tha. Iss baar consensus hui nahi hai answers par. isiliye to doubt ho raha hai. Personally for me, CSAT me check v nahi kiya keys. Usme definitely main clear hu. But gs ke marks 92-104 ghoom rahe. Last year 102-116 ghoom rahe the, so I knew in any case I was safe, I got 115.7.
Is saal gut feeling says ki 100 ke aaspaas aaega,.
But this year is full of uncertainties, jaha itnse saal paper dene ke baad me mera dimag v shock factor ka victim ho raha tha. Aur aisa kaafi logo ke saath hua hoga. So wo angle hi thoda dicey hai.

Go to any institution with good placement record.
After IIT, NIT,IIIT, more or less every institutes are same.
