The issue at hand is not normal at all. In my case, I stay inside a Govt. Colony which is a containment zone. After 14 day sealing, another person contracted and we got sealed again. I am not allowed to go outside, come what may.
Plus, just saw the news that Chhattisgarh state govt has cancelled it's class 10 and 12 board exams. The others like Telangana and Tamil Nadu, who have decided to hold the exams, are battling PILs in High Courts. Its not only executive's call. Judiciary will get involved eventually. Maybe, it will take a more rational call.
@SA If you get time, do watch "Virus". Its a 2019 Malayalam Movie based on how the scientists and administration handled Nipah outbreak. The country needs both generalist administrators filled with empathy and specialist researchers.
Moreover, very very few among IITians choose their respective domains. Most line up for MBAs, investment banking, consultancy jobs. Hardly 5% of my IIT batchmates are actually inventing things. Rest all are managing things just like other generalists.

@Sadhika
Agree! While we may expect the Govt to behave in an ideal way, it generally doesn't. Classic example is Maharashtra Govt. filing PIL against UGC, while itself going ahead with MPSC exams.
Also, it is the Executive which is expected have direct ears of the masses. Once it has taken or sticks to its call, I doubt if Judiciary will completely change that. At max, they will advise to follow SOPs dilligently.
All said and done, I just have one Question to UPSC that why it did not increase the numbers of cities conducting Prelims. That was completely feasible and would have demonstrated an honest intent on their part. While other testing agencies increased their centres, UPSC (supposedly the most efficient) did not. If I were the PIL petitioner, I would have asked just this single question, again and again and again!
@Thanos_ so true!
I read somewhere in Hindi "मनस्थिति बदलें तो परिस्थिति बदले"
Whatever may be the external conditions, if we are pumped up from inside, we will be good.
On the contrary, even a small speck of self-doubt can push us into a downward spiral in moments. So, very important to watch what we allow the mind to think, especially in these crucial moments.
@SergioRamos that is partially true.
All EC / CECs before T.N.Seshan would have also thought the same. But then, he came and proved that bureaucracy is not that powerless. :-)
