Cut off ka kya bhav hai???
16.2k views
@Equalizer  It is very much possible. I am myself an AI programmer.
What you need is just meta  Data tags , Neural logic and Plumbing code and .. wham. Even I can make such an application proof of concept in one month. No big deal.

But, How can you transfer Electrons wave in air? wireless transmission of electricity... It was one of Tesla's experiments. But, Till now No Theory of electrical science, magnetics, or say physics exists for such a successful transfer. .... And we all know it.

Also, Ipad wireless charging is due to Electo magnetic induction... when you put two sheets joined and pass the emf ..induced. No big deal done by apple. Because ... Faraday law of emf exists since years.  That is charging without wire. ... not exactly wireless. Because ... In general parley,. wireless word actually refers .. transfer in something like air as medium.

And ... UPSC thinks general .. in common language.
2019 Key is out... It had min 6 different answer from all keys. importantly, 7 different from shankar and 11 different from Vajiram. So, Keys dekhna hi bakwas hai.
also , Mine score in 2019 by various keys was 98 ... but by upsc keys is 110 though i ducked in paper 2.  In 2018 , My keys score was 97 actual score 112. In 2017 ... Actual score .. 102 .. real 108.
The common thing is - How upsc interprets. UPSC does not go Technically nazi for statement asked in question. They take common view and general perspective as answer for sentence. ... and I always followed the same. All coaching key go technical and cut out.
For ex - Last year ... *Can LA use the rules of Lokasabha.. * - Ye statement UPSC key me true hai. I marked it as true... Thinking that ki kahi likha nahi hai but koi rok bhi nahi raha ..  kar lo yaar speaker ki marji ... speaker jo kare. ... also .. as convention ... use hota hi hai. There is no technical proof of it.
On the same lines , I would say ... Two statements wil be correct.
1. Constitution defines judicial review....
2. A person eligible to vote ... made minister for 6 months... !!

So jaa ke pado. And Cut off will be 95+-2 for general.  yaar last year se paper easy nahi tha. Sabne 80 or 85 nahi kiya hai. Aur log marks bhi bada bada ke batate hai Forum p wahi aate hai jinka jyada achaa hua yaa jyada bura hua hai.
But actually .. Jo Concentration of people banta tha .. Last year 95 to 105 p sabse jyada log the ...!!
Is baar abbi tak sabse jyada log sab kaat ke clear clear 90 -95 me hai clear cut... Vo cut off band m hai. So, Cut off Is range me hoga. No wonder 90 se 1 yaa 2 no neeche bhi jaaye. Because ... last year bhi everyone like 100 s neeche kaise jaa sakta hai. To bhai number hi to hai. UPSC ka written rule to nahi hai. .. Jaisa performance vaisa cutoff.. 90 ke neeche bhi jaaye to jaane do .. Sajjan ko takleef kya hai bhai !!
Bur still to be fare 95+-2.

That is why .. You have to take broader view of questions... UPSC make general statement as question. They are no more grammer nazi.

That's people fault .. they go technical.

Last year ka ek aur example :

wtland ke law hamare yaha ramsar pe bane hai kind of .. ramsar ka second statement.
I marked it worng. UPSC key me same. ... all coaching key taken it as correct.
Why i marked wrong - Ramsar provides but not so binding ... National sovereignty window se bahar fekna padega fir. Govt total copy paste nahi karte .. ramsar se aligned jarur hote hai.

So.. General and broad view is answer for all such dubious questions.

I learnt from my mistakes. I solved maths for 10 days from 11th sept to 20th sept. It cost me a bit in paper 1 .. but paper 2 my full maths is right ..wham.
in paper 1.. I am able to save my ass though.
Last year i did almost 35 pessages and 10 maths . Maths bhi galat aur pessage ka to vishwas hi karna foolishness ho gayi hai aaj kal.

Same story.
I was in USA in 2015 .. Minnesota .. Pearson me.
left job gave 2016 .. reached interview .. no avail failed in finals.
Gave 2017 .. but failed pre.
Again joined job in 2017 sept... Gave 2018 by preparing alongside and gave interview again .. but wham .. not selected .
in 2019.. UPSc love not faded... Left job again after final result in april 2019. July ..Failed 2019 pre.
Again joined job in 2019 Oct but is baar sab paisa khatam ho gaya .. Abhi bhi karz me dooba hu.
Now prepared alongside job for 2020 since then. ... and here we are a very random cliche paper.
Managed to save paper 1 with 95 marks clear cut after removing all ambiguities. Paper 2 is not a duck ..performed well.
Mera saala odd even chal raha hai UPSC me.. First attempt se either interview 16 and 18 or either pre fail 17 and 19 . And is baar 2020 hai.... big hopes.
Also, I really fear prelims exam. Bahut bura exam hai preliminaries. Mains ka itna hai.. I can even give mains tomorrow without fear(not saying will perform equally well.. but i am very comfortable with mains even i love that format) .
Also , I am saying ... My judgement and years of experience and meeting all kinds of aspirants says cut off will be 95+-2 . because... we all study same things. We all make mistakes. For ex - If i have 4 question right and 4 wrong ... you have 4 other right and 4 other wrong. So .. By zero sum game... aap apna correct kar lo yaa mai apne ... The marks will remain almost same with net addition or minus of 3 to 4 marks. That is why all this discussion is bullshit.

@KratosOfPUBG Indeed .. Hard working people dont take risk. All hard working are below 100 or say 105 .. Lower limit 90.
All tukka baaj ... D maar ke aaye .. 85 to 95 attempt kar ke ... and see.. 110 or 115. !!
Wilderness in Hell.

Last year UPSC key se 9 question different the shankar ke.
Sankar was never right.

Except 2 question... Jatin verma is very right this time. Watch her answer and explained videos. You will not agree more.

Problem with shankar is - we dont know why shankar saying that is the answer.
But, JV atleast giving his side of facts and research that why he think this option is true.

All keys with Just ABCD is tough to trust. If somebody is giving key with explanation ... You are in better position to trust the answer key.

Snakar's game was over after  2017.... The same was... the way vajiram failed to evolve !!

Truth is ... When u became wise ... You dont take uninvited risk. You want to make sure your hard work should not get wasted in your self created wilderness of Tukkas.
I stopped marking after marking 78 questions. I thought ... I took too much risk . Even .. I have 3 to 4 question solved with tukkas in my kitty to mark ... but did not did that.
However,  I think.. I did wise because ... My accuracy is good and I never marked 80 plus with almost 60 correct . But , This time ... Keys bruaght me down to 53 to 54 correct and score around 95.

So, I think.. Jab mera 5 to 8 marks gira hai to baaki seriously hard working students ka bhi gira hoga ... because ... No  serious student take such huge risk if he want to get selected in same attempt. .. So

That is why yaar 5 to 10 marks most of serious students k kam hue hi hai.
And .. I dont want to say anything about few superhumans and Tukkebaaj among us.

@Tyler Durden This exam has destroyed lot of careers and life than it has made, in hope of cracking it in next attempt or preparing it full time. If you have age, establish yourself first professionally and then take calculated risk so that you can comfortably fall back amd return to workforce. After two years of serious preparation full time you only need CA to study. I see people deliberately sitting unemployed after graduation just to crack this. After some failures it brings confidence breakdown, you hit the glass ceiling of preparation, become anxious and just think of getting any job. There is also a fantasy associated with people of cracking it in first attempt, I read a comment of user yesterday who cried continuously during break not because exam went bad but that user wanted to give mains in first attempt and won't be able to. Thinking about clearing it in one go is good but too much romanticism with it breaks you down. I blame youtube channels promoting this nonsense. Besides lot of people now only give exam to get highlight after cracking it, the standards of popularity set but Dina Tabi amd likewise people on social media has brainwashed people. Very few people give this exam to make a good career primarily, most of them are in blind race.

True.

14.2k views
It depends... What percentage of controversial questions you have in your kitty. I have 6 question.
I have not counted them and even deducted .67 too. My clean marks are 95.
After all , I will fall positive. even 2 questions get correction... I am a 100 +.
Now see vice versa, People dont count clean marks.. They make presumption and assumption to inflate their scores... which lead to wrong cut off predictions as well. So, vice vers ...If someone has 6 controversial question ... and 2 goes wrong he is 5.57 less. .. Below 90.
Now , Adam smith ka invisible hand chalega ... sab equilibrium me aayega .. aur cutoff fir 95 se 90 pe aa jaayega.

I took all as correct. Because .. Investment is what creates assets. Even in India , We give subsidies to create assets.
There are always two things in case of expenses... Capital or revenue (running a business) .

Subsidies we give have been utilized for creating caputal assets too many a times. MSP is subsidy ... But .. ensures income to farmers. Now , From point of view of government ... It also lead to better return for farmers so that he can invest.

I was just unsure about MSP ... but all other for me sounds correct. But there was no option for all others only in answers given. So , I marked all.

Now , Let me tell one more thing .. Last year gas emitted in wood burning wala question yaad hai - Usme ozone tha .. Kisi ne nahi liya usko correct coaching me . UPSC official key 2019 me all correct diya hai.

So , I am hopeful with this.

For India sri lanka ,

That statement is right.

Trade Performance

Bilateral trade between India and Sri Lanka has increased by around 9 times between 2000-01 and 2018-19. Total trade between the two countries was US$ 6.2 billion in 2018-19, out of which India’s exports to Sri Lanka were US$ 4.7billion and imports were US$ 1.5 billion. Although India has always had a trade surplus with Sri Lanka, the gas has widened since 2008-09

Asking random questions from anywhere .. Just make you feel sad even you worked hard.

I never felt anything for any exam ... for my score which have fair stickness towards syllabus recommended. I think UPSC can go deep within the syllabus prescribed than throwing randomness.

What about emergency articles than as they mandate parliament to meet twice in a year as due to 6 months clause.
Also .. what about election must be conducted in 6 months clause.

I believe .. Instead of reading each article in isolation as coaching wallah do. This is not so. Evem Supreme court read and connect two or three articles bring a balanced output. Because, In law .. There could not be two truths.
If it is not mandatory for parliament to sit twice , How election in 6 month clause and emergency clause will operate.

So, Yes .. I indeed ... You If we read EC la 6 month election waala clause , Budget clause and emergency clause - Constitution by reference provide that parliament must meet so and so forth.

Kal ko koi PIL kare SC me is baat par ... Do you think SC ignore associative reading of other related articles related to parliament sittings as required for ordinance passing and all other works.

The question

constitution defines

what is wrong with first statement .

Is being grammar nazi ... and taking strict meaning of word *defines* as some sort of a proper definition to be given????

Q23. Consider the following statements

  1. The constitution of India defines its basic structure in terms of federalism, secularism, fundamental rights and democracy
  2. The constitution of India provides for the ‘judicial review’ to safeguard the citizen’s liberties and to preserve the ideals on which the constitution is based....

what i mean to say is - Define has various synonyms ... and it is usually taken synonyms to as GIVEN.   Also .. Court recognized and identified and keep this doctrine evolving. Even court later  in few judgement s gave meaning to what is could be like .. and that too even vague. Also, The court just found doctrine not defined or .. they recognized as they discovered.

My take is - By general reading First statement is correct enough because ... If you just focus on word *defines* ... then only it is wrong .... Otherwise it is a perfectly correct and fluid statement written by someone setting paper !!

That's why - I took it as right. what are your views on it.

My argument in support :

According to the Constitution, Parliament and the state legislatures in India have the power to make laws within their respective jurisdictions. This power is not absolute in nature. The Constitution vests in the judiciary, the power to adjudicate upon the constitutional validity of all laws. If a law made by Parliament or the state legislatures violates any provision of the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the power to declare such a law invalid or ultra vires. This check notwithstanding, the founding fathers wanted the Constitution to be an adaptable document rather than a rigid framework for governance. Hence Parliament was invested with the power to amend the Constitution. Article 368 of the Constitution gives the impression that Parliament's amending powers are absolute and encompass all parts of the document. But the Supreme Court has acted as a brake to the legislative enthusiasm of Parliament ever since independence. With the intention of preserving the original ideals envisioned by the constitution-makers, the apex court pronounced that Parliament could not distort, damage or alter the basic features of the Constitution under the pretext of amending it. The phrase 'basic structure' itself cannot be found in the Constitution. The Supreme Court recognised this concept for the first time in the historic Kesavananda Bharati case in 1973. Ever since the Supreme Court has been the interpreter of the Constitution and the arbiter of all amendments made by Parliament !!

Dont worry. Have hope till you have all clean 90 plus. Agar bada chada ke 100 bhi bol rahe ho to bekaar.

My clean marks after factoring out all of controversial questions is 92.
I attempted only 76 question. ... I could have attempted more ... but .. I stopped myself deliberately from doing that. I sit idle for last 10 minutes. But No wild tukka.
Mine clean correct is 53. rest 6 questions are debatable.  and 16 wrongs. I did not to tukkas but .. most of time use sound logic which i used in 15 or 20 question and then stopped.

Hard work stopped me from taking undue risk and wandering in to wilderness. I do not ... Well .. Tukkabaji will win or wise choices people will. That is left for destiny after 40 days now.

But ... Tukka culture is so bad. ... and UPSC is increasing opportunity for tukka culture by throwing chaos as paper.

You can have melatonin. It is OTC. .. Melatonin is sleep harmone. It can bring  you easy sleep. Take it two hour before atleast of your scheduled sleep time.

Also , If you want herb - You can use Ashwagamdha ... That os a sedative.

I have prepared since last of my years with a full time software programming job... which makes to stay everything to get them happen on time in 24 hour cycle. I use both of these intermittently.

But, If you are just preparing .. You do not need to do both. You just practice since start of your prep.. like 2 months before... follow a proper schedule. Do not squeeze yourself at night.
This time .. My schedule was  I wake up as early as 3 AM and study till 11 AM... of course with breaks.

Then 12 to 8 .. office work

then food and sleep.
I stopped doing anything after 12 morning ..other than office work. And .. If anyday.. I was not able to do study in morning... I never broke my schedule though. If i have missed today's study ... I did not squeeze myself at night. I keep that fire alive for next morning. After all we have just 24 hour. Ee should not break our cycle. Because... It will break the natural clock of body controlled by circadian rhythm. ... and .. If you have once lost that ... it is difficult to regain.
Also, When you change your schedule of sleep and getting up every second day.. Your body gets confused and your circadian rhythm fails to understand when to release sleep harmones. ... Body fail to understand when u actually have to sleep and need rest. So .. Following a schedule is better. I did one more improvisation this year. I solved CsAT for 2 to 3 hours in afternoon after lunch. It accommodated me to solve maths in drowsy mood as well. Body is a great system.. very flexible amd adaptable.. Convert it what yoy want to be. Be regular and be desciplined in 24 hr regime. However, You can take medicine only as exception .. if your routine has broken due to skme exigencies.

why cant you plan to study and practice it as well since January just 2 hour a day for two months. You will simply qualify. Putting blame on upsc for what is required and expected from aspirants is not a solution. Khud se mat karo required and jab consequences ho to paper hi hata do.
I failed in paper 2 twice just because .. I thought I am phantom .. but .. I changed my ways and I came in my aukaaat ..  and solved CSAT 2 this year quite a few times .. and qualified with a dignified score in paper 2.

@Equalizer  same here .. Giving since 2015. It was the weirdest .. and toughest too.
why it is toughest ?
Do not judge it by how deep things have been asked. There are few different things to make it toughest.
1. Few Very very simple questions...  and then suddenly a wiered tough question.
2. You have to know Data about data to solve honestly. (Tukkas ka chal jaana maatra ek Sanyog hai - Workarounds are merely a coincidence of luck and bad logic)
3. lengthy statements.
4. More stuff asked in every question. ( for ex - 4 convention in 1 question ... 3 places in matching option etc ) .
5. In few of questions .. Two completely different topics statement is given with no correlation among statements..  both statements are isolated. So .. They converted .. each question in to two or three questions.
6. The real exam pressure and the race to finish quick with bombs placed like in a landmines ... You can lose your confidence anytime if you hit 3 or 4 tough questions without any solution  in a row. .. etc.  Not everybody is yogi vivekanand. We are in a bloody war where we have landmines fixed(randomness of topics now a days) .
6. more and more ... You can add.

But .. Those are topmost things.

After a lot of googleing ... I found this concept in one of Forbes article.. specifically written.

i.e.
US nonfinancial debt rose 3.5 times faster than GDP last year. (Nonfinancial debt is the sum of household debt, business debt, federal debt, and state and local government debt.)

Here is link -

The statement means Open market operations of FCI ok.  FCI do that work on behalf of govt in OMS for price stabilization and also to provide grains for bulk suppliers and FPC and state agencies too. This year, After Corona .. NGOs were also allowed in OMS to purchase.

Wireless Transmission electricity answer was wrong as always said. .. and I supported earlier theories of tesla and all that it is only in research phase and  in labs of power sector companies this time.

The question asked -At present level of

So at present level .. Wireless transmission is in very nascent stage. Recently , In August 2020 (may be upsc preparing question paper at that time)

New Zealand startup announced a demonstration to show that they have achieved it in lab and want to demo the concept.

I searched and it is all over the Internet. The below link I am posting from IEEE publishing window itself which published this development on 20 aug 2020.

Emrod’s laboratory prototype currently operates indoors at a distance of just 2 meters. Work is under way to build a 40-meter demonstration system, but it, too, will be indoors where conditions can be easily managed. Sometime next year though Emrod plans a field test at a still-to-be-determined grid-connected facility operated by Powerco, New Zealand’s second largest utility with around 1.1 million customers.

https://spectrum.ieee.org/energywise/energy/the-smarter-grid/emrod-chases-the-dream-of-utilityscale-wireless-power-transmission

So - There should not be iota of doubt -At present level of tech , Wireless electricity transmission is not feasible... It is actually still in demonstration stage by various companies.

Also - Wireless charging is different concept - It uses near field magnetic induction as a transfer mechanism to supply very tiny induced emf. It is not what wireless transmission is.

Transmission -This term specifically used in power sector to supply bulk of electricity power (high potential) to reasonably long or medium distances.

So , I do not know .. why people making it right. Its basics of physics yaar that we have all studied in class 12.

That is true actually. But you k ow Electo magnetic waves ... Dual nature of particleand De brogile hypothesis.

Point is - You can stream or beam the electrons like beam. No issue.
But problem is .. Eletron train not only have electric field but also magnetic field(12th basics). The fieldstrength  are proportional to  mass of ion and drift velocity and thus potential created(voltage).

So, You can not beam electeons for 11000 volatge line right now.. and not even for 220 V home electricity.

Hazarde are too much. (Remember that 11KV line board .. DANGER with skull - The reason is magnetic field around wire pull you up towards wire and ... You do not need physical touch but you just need to part of electric field around conductor to get electrolucated )

Do you want a short stories App.
I working on AI since 3 years as software programmer.
I can give you that app to you   within  1 month. It is not only possible there are so many tools to do that.
Bigdata+ AI= Shorr stories.

Also ,  We are making Proctored exams to be human less... The project has been launched by Pearson USA now . You dont need human invigilation ... Just fee cameras and sensors and .. Live video frame perception and voice interception (noise sampling technique) ... and it is done.

Because .. You do not use AI.. that does not mean.. It is not in market.

Google .. Short stories app by AI .. or music apps by AI. There are so many startups in US and banagalore doing it and some of that already did that at good level.

Problem with UPSC aspirants .. They are disconnected from how far the world is moving and how quickly. We are more entrenched in tracking SC cases, Govt policies or Economic stats ... Most of aspirants never track latest dovt in sciences or business. Reason is - Reading compilation and ... Even if people read news papers ... They filter such news ki ye nahi aayega. Reliance facebook agreement are iska upsc se lena dena nahi ... But FDi question isi pe hai. Reliance ka vo arm jisme Facebook ne imvest kiya vo non listed hai... FDi ..wham ?
and .. Lot of such questions this year which are not from so called core academic news. ... but from general spice news and they derived concepts from their and asked in exam.
What I mean to say ... Devision of newspaper ki aap das min me pahle tick kar lo kaun sa news padna hai .. and then aur kuch dekhna bhi nahi
.
 This is the prevailing you.
But, UPSC attacked this view as well. The questions are from events instead of some academically aligned news in newspapers.

Hope you have got me.

Short stories is very simple to do in AI. Python have a very strong framework to create Deep fake programs and  Everybody is doing deep fakes. Machine learning amd robotic process automation  is thing of past now. Startups are implementing Deep learning now.

@rafael How AI can make it more efficient .. Can you explain ...

Indeed wireless transmission is real. There is just one organization which made it to demo stage. And AI is particularly unrelated to it. Secondly, AI just do automation by applying human intelligence. The basic principle of AI ..that what AI provides is in contradiction with this.

Also - It has been written Big Data ... Then .. Yes .. Big data can make it happen.. Because it will helo in scooping large amount of research data and finding patterns. etc....
Let us discuss science here..

Bongiyaan chodna band karo.

Give me 2 reasons that how can make it efficient

and what efficient means here. How can you make a thing efficient for which you have no proper tech.

Aise to mai bolunga ... Tokamak ban gaya hai .. Nuclear fusion is possible to be commercialzed. AI can make nuclear fusion more efficient .. we will make nuclear fusion plant soon. Had hai yaar.

13.7k views

I have already answered that.

Not possible at present level of AI... Even in future level of AI. Because ... The problem of wireless transfer of electrons at transmission level need some electric hardware devices ... and elctrical things. yaar itna to common sens laga lo.. Why stretching toooooo far.

AI has nothing to do with it directly.

13.2k views

Yes .. Learning

You need to provide metadata .  which has to be created through multiple sources and algorithms. Big data is required at back end .. to create such data framing and scooping ... and AI engine will work over the data created over that.
AI engine will have neural networking algorithm to bring cognizance.

Hope you got it. anything more ??

13.2k views

Deep fake and Deep learning are actually related .. If you want true user experience ..  A ssume a  person real looking ...on some screen ...and narrating the story.  The image of person is generated by AI ... For ex somebody's mom. You have provided metadata for that to backend. The AI algorithm will create a deep fake on it .. and even you will see that person's all activities on screen like it has recorded.. but that is deep fake.

Big data  is not only a statistics tool. Statistics is just very small component of big data tech. Big data is way way larger than in capabilities than stats. The actual thing abo big data is working on a heap  of data grams(think of as a garbage pile)  and analysis of data .. to join other kind of profiled data and .. and some user inputs .. and brings you a required data.
Big data is not just one tech. There are minimum 5 to 10 layers of different techs involved in big data.

Dont ask me to go more technical now.. Mai yahi kar rahi hu itne saal se.. Meri roji roti hai ye. UPSC us side business.

But, If some body read. .. Legal effect = Justifiability ... Then A is answer..

@gauravbrly409 I am not saying that my answer is correct but I can give you reason for why I feel D is more suited than A. C is not possible because SC has categorically said that Preamble is not justifiable. So no law can by struck down because it violates any of the provision of the Preamble 'only'. It is due to this 'only' that I feel D is better than A because D says that although it does not have an independent legal effect, it can be used to interpret other provisions of the constitution. You can watch Nextias faculty's polity discussion of Pre 2020. He has explained this decently.

Legal effect, ka kya matlab nikale, it could be about taking inference (judicial) from it. Since supreme court declared it as part of the constitution. It is as good any other part of constitution.

Supreme Court can declare any law void if it violates that part of basic structure of preamble. So it has legal affect. But question is what is meaning of legal effect.

It makes C right. They specially made heading for legal effects. Kya upsc google kar ke paper babaya h kya.

preamble is an introductory and expressionary statement in a document that explains the document's purpose and underlying philosophy. When applied to the opening paragraphs of a statute, it may recite historical facts pertinent to the subject of the statute. It is distinct from the long title or enacting formula of a law.

Any inputs ??

13.6k views

For preamble question, D is correct. Suppose, govt enacted a law to given effect to DPSP or any other provision, and if there is a case in SC regarding some ambiguity, then SC can use Preamble as a guide to give judgement.

Here SC will use Preamble + DPSP or Preamble + (any other part of Constitution). Thus legal effect of preamble only holds if it is used in combination to some other part.

Govt.  cannot enact a law to give effect to provision of Preamble alone, neither can SC declare a law void if it only goes against preamble. Therefore, Preamble has no legal effect of its own,

But when used in combination with any other part, it has legal effect.

what about Article 368. Preamble alone is enough to create legal effect. Even Any amendment is against spirit of Preamble but not any other part..... that will be struck down.

Your take on it now .. Add your inputs.

If that's the case only C - T Bill is the right answer.

Drishti ias ke video mein polity vala question 6 months, sir ne sahi se explain kiya hai... Dekh lo... Unhone yeh bhi kaha hai ki upsc never goes so much complex jitna hum log sochte rehte hein word by word, essence poocha hai upsc ne and he said answer A is correct... Though mine is wronng... But i second him whatever he said

Last year  question :
1. Legislative assembly may follow rules of loksabha.  -  true as per official 2019 key.

There are so many things in 2019 key ... My marks for 2019 has increased almost 10 by those keys ..whereas all coachings have said NO to the options which i thought as best correct. Coachings go too technical in general for polity. It is not so.
I will not wonder if  next year   -  constitution  "defines"  basic structure ....  -  will be true in 2020 official key.   You know why -  "defines"  technically means .. a document must have crude and explicit definition for said thing.  But - If you read or use define word in general parley  -Defines is simply like ... pertains to. for ex  : I say -  Honesty defines you. ... or Say ... You defines the whole group.  What does this mean?
I mean to say - the way UPSC frames question - It does not intends to frame lexically word by word.

I am open to bet for 2020 key for two statements :

1.  A person.. can vote ... eligible to be minister.  >>True.
>>yes in essence  -  nothing stops a person to be a minister ... now people are emphasizing VOTE =18 years. I found that absurd logic or  say too much logic. The statement is factually true in practical scenarios.

2. Constitutiondefines* basic structure*in terms of*   --- etc etc. >>True.
>>Reason being -  It has not said or asked constitution has provided an explicit definition or not. It just said - Constitution has definedin terms of--   True >>Indeed , The Basic structure recognized by SC has these elements. and that defines basic structure.
>>People are just over emphasizing the word"defines"  while ignoring "in terms of". People just deducing that - No constituion has not defined so ..statement is false.
But - statement actually not asking whether it isdefined in constition as a crude definition or not. The question asks - what are the features of basic structure actually?
and indeed yes.   "constitution defines basic structure in terms of  ..........etc"
>>also , If this statement is like "Constitution defines basic structure."!!  -- Here, The statement assert - whether there is explicit defntn of basic structure given or not.its False.

But- In our statement in question -  The meaning of defines is not  "contains explicitly" but just simply "contains implicitly" and emphasis is on "in terms of".

Thanks for reading  it.

@vision2020we all know it sir, It depends what statement actually wants to ask, IT is about decoding the question behind statemnt. and Statement not asking whether it ahs been explicitly defined. They just used the word defines in general sense.

@gauravbrly409 naa naa bhai... U r going too extreme now, first is totally false. Constitution have not defined... And they intentiaonlly made such statement, even the essence is on defines word

Then factually , LA can use rules of loksabha .. is false as per facts. But, 2019 key given it is as true.  the statemnt has word "can".. and it makes sense as speaker has full descretion for it. and .. There is nowhere written that Loksabha rules cant be used in LA>
Thanks .

It sounds like that. however, such vague words used by upsc in previous years too and i concluded they are used mostly to convey general sense than a lexigraphic type checking. Going by the same logics why is Indian bureaucracy is limited to policy implementations only. It provides political stability (in broader sense) and works for economic development.

public policy is the umbrella term and it includes everything ranging from economic policy to social policy to providing polity stability. All other 3 statements are true but ..  functions defined under other ABC  are actually part of core work of public policy for which the bureaucracy exists. The question is tricky. i put 4 by this logic. Being a pub ad student, Public policy is the essence and reason for creation and existence of bureaucracy and - Public policy contains everything. Also, The word in "In Indian context"  is the trap - If you put A or B or C, Bureaucracy has all other functions too in other two statements. ... then .. how will you rank which function is of prime importance and others are secondary... Prima facie --- seems C is true. I was about to mark C, But, Thought - D is inclusive of all ABC. So, I have gone for D. Also, D is the basic work of Bureaucracy  all over the world and not only particular to India. Also, The basic work of public policy making, monitoring, evalution and inceremtal chnages takes care of everything as stated in A,B, C. So , I put D itself as answer.

you can differ from me. But, I believe D is most appropriate among all... Though C has  the strong feel of being right answer .. and A and B ranks low than C if we see the practical importance of bureux in india.

@PercivalYes, statement 1 is definitely right because
1) Thequestion of age i.e 25 Years is only applicable for membership of the State legislatureandnot for being a Minister in a state(if he is appointed as minister without being member of state legislature)
2) Till the time a person is duly elected to state legislature as its Member,he can continue as Minister at leastfor6 months.
The question of his qualification/ disqualification by virtue of his age(<25 years) will only arise when he will fill election/ nomination papers for the membership of state legislature

The article 85 , I think it nowhere states as -  So, If you simple rely on that  -  Statement is ditto copied and true.
Also, the qualifications of minsiters are nowhere stated. So, A 18 year old person can be minister for 6 months. But, he cant be member of LA .. as he does not fulfills 25 year age criteria.. he has to give up ministership than.
Deduction >>An 18 year person with voting rights can be a minister for 6 months only because any person can be a minister for 6 months without being member of house. The 25 year age criterian comes only in picture when you want to be member of house .. so .. you 18 year old can happy go to be a minister but beyond that -  you have to member of house which you cant be .. so cant continue beyond 6 months in any case.

But, If read it along with RPA and all , Then.. It makes all wrong. But, For this statement .. we do not even need to bring RPA. RPA does not states anything about minsters qualification or disqual. at all. Bringing RPa is unnecessary.

in upsc i can develop my logical guesses,is exam me bhi i applied some logical guesses and derived the ans,but andh tukka marke ans laanayeh completely us din aapki kisma kaisi hai uspe depend karta hai

seniors plz suggest how to prepare others psc exam and others exam dedicatedly with uspc, jisne qualaified kia ho plz reply....bpsc december me hai

@Sherkhan1428 @Patootie @SergioRamos

Really can't comment much about that bhai. I hate State pcs exams, simply because they have questions like,

" Gandhi ji ke chashme ka number kya hai "

A ) 1.00022 B) 1.00023 C) 1.00024 D) tum se na ho paayega rehney do

UPSC still gives you the scope for reasoning. State PCS have minimal scope for that and hence i dont get the philosophy behind those exams.

MY suggestion: Your mind right now is bruised and you are hurt a little. Allow it to recover.  Let nature take over and allow yourself to heal. If you still have chances to qualify, so be it. Cling on to it and prepare for the next 40 odd days. It will still be a win win at the end of 40 days , even if you don't qualify because you will have momentum and you can carry it into 2021.

Do not take such life altering decisions at this time because you will most likely choose an option which isn't the answer. Make what you will of that advice. But i hope you end up taking an informed decision. Cheer up and bounce back 1000 times harder. My prayers for your well being.

I will better die before answering such absurdity. Yaar, Students ke saath ye state boards kuch bhi majaak karte hai.

iss baar ka prelims toh luck factor pe bht jyada aa gya hai..2-3 tukke jyada/kam lage aur u r in/out..

@gauravbrly409 bhai kya haal hai..i hope u remember me..digital signature pe upsc sala 3 only hi diya ans:)..usi ki wajah se bahar ho gya sala mai last time..

Even now i think 3 only is wrong ans.

But kya kare, upsc ne keh dia right hai matlab right hai.

Yaar mera har baar 10 marks bad ke aata hai market keys se.
In 2018 , i was even privileged to get forest mains due to this.

Mai kai baar bolta hu .. UPSC talks in general language because they have to maintain equity and equaility of difficulty level.  UPSC sirf delhi coaching se trend aspirants ke liye yaa IIT and premier institutes ke liye exam nahi banati .. They create exam and questions in such a manner that everybody will have equal chance to fight in hall. And , They do this by talking in general sense !!   Wahi sahi nikalte hai answers.
But, koi naa.. Period. Is bar to bas mera 92 bana hai all clean and cut .. lowest ever. Good news is - Paper 2 me i only attempted maths and almost all are correct(Lesson learned from 2019)
But, Koi naa  Bholenaath sab dekh rahe hai  :)

@jordan_belfortCoaching centres and Mock test series condition us to think in a certain way, which causes us to make silly mistakes and Blunders in Prelims.
That is why Read standard textbooks, with NCERT's as base. They will orient aspirants to think/understand the topics in a certain way, which UPSC wants to evaluate through exams.

YE jo jugglery of words hai na "only" pe ye karo ,,, all pe ye nahi hoga .... science me D maaro ...... etc etc. YE sab coaching gyaan hi hai. OR test series are framed in such manner.
UPSC previous years ko exam se pahle log solve kare not to gain advantage but  ... to get adapted with UPSC language... That will help too much in eliminating the dubious catchphrase in UPSC questions.

@gauravbrly409 Very unfair to a Hindi Medium friend of mine. Does UPSC have to be that cruel? And with all due respect to the mighty institution..that casual about translation?

Not only to hindi medium .. but to all vernacular people. The thing is - English version is the only correct version and vernacular version is just subordinate to it. Your frnd is from hindi states... what if - such things happened in other vernacular translations ??
It should be taken care of properly.

So my score is 89.33 from vision taking the preamble and financial debt question wrong. I had told myself if it I dont clear its okay, I did everythng I could and maybe this is not for me. Life has greener pastures elsewhere

But yesterday  i discovered I had solved one question right, and in hurry (coz it was an easy question) marked wrong option. Means I solved 1,2 are right, and 3 is wrong, but maked 123 in answer. Blunder. 2.66 gone.

Now the guilt is sinking in. Maybe without marking mistake I would see hope right now. Not even considering those questions that I thought I could  maha tukka-guess their as answer and mark but ended up not attempting due to the huge risk. Unlike my mock performances, I become risk averse during exam. Always. Since 2017.

This was my 4th prelims. Every exam before I panicked n couldnt solve easy questions in exam. And this time I didnt panic, yet made similar mistakes. Was having meltdowns every day since last 1 month, would either shout at somone, or cry. Staying at home, unemployed-unmarried-total failure is not easy. I had good job, was one of thes best in my office, smart intelligent, had an mba call, left it all for this exam.

This year I was at home(before was in Delhi since my colg-job everythng was in delhi before, had been staying there since so long). Could often hear parents  telling neighbours "iska work from home hai, thats y at home", or telling other family members on fone how I sit in home all day, old and fat and unemployed. Its hard for parents to see their children like this, they have expectations.I broke down everyday when I heard this, cried for sm time, n started studying  again. I did everything  I could. But its not enough. This is not for me.  So it ends for me now.

Havent filled up CAT.will fill up whatever forms come out now.have to painfully do mba n listen to parents saying how i kicked mba before. Already heard relatives se how i kicked a good job before. Anyways. Itna minutely  khud ko dissect kr lia h is exam se, totally unnecessary.  Exam do. Hona h hojaega. Nahi hona ho, nahi hoga. Itna dimag nahi khrb krna h apna.

Ps. Can somone plz tell me how to delete account here? I just cant seem to find the delete option..

Do you believe.. I marked -  Constitutional govt as   option b.   Location of laddhakh  wala wrong ... even I have full map in my mind ek ek finger psangpo ki dimaag me chapi hai.
But, Over excitement and little hurry cost me 5.56 marks. I was even sad in hall after doing this shit .. but .. Thats ok. We must learn to forgive ourselves .. after all .. we are humans  ... isnt it.

true, ncerts are simple and direct unlike coaching compilations. And sometimes too much interpretation lead us to wrong answers, upsc just wants simple interpretation. I did a few questions wrong this time just by overthinking and interpreting it too far.

This year .. they will bring new product in market . NCERT course for dummies  and NCERT test series.

Join our special NCERT crash course module.

Sarcasm is -  Pay money and get stuff. People dont even bother to read and take notes outof as simple thing as NCERT by themselves. It scares me.

I would like to share what I understand from the term basic structure. Every written constitution has a basic structure comprising of certain features. The SC gave the DOCTRINE of basic structure and did not define the basic structure. It simply said that the constitution can be amended in such a way so that its basic structure is not altered.

In my opinion, the question was trying to ask what is the basic structure of the written constitution of India rather than who defines or decides it.

Anyways, final answer will be decided by UPSC. Just sharing my understanding of basic structure. Please see the text from NCERT too.

So , What is your take on it. Mine was - Statement is right. True.

SC recognized the BS. BS pahle se tha bhai.  SC never used word "defined". In most of judgement i have read  with my little brain, I have always heard the word recognized or identified .. but not defined per se.

SC ne discovery kiya banaya nahi .

i answered MPLAD 3&4 just because the reason Mrunal provided. For me the word "maust be used for durable assets".
In my district, MLADS has been used for even grants to poor people for medical bills by MPs. So , Its not "must be durable" asset. Also, MRUNAL provided documentary evidence for it. I had doubted the statement 3  but thought may be the rules have been chnaged(assumption).

Statement 2 is of course correct and 4 as well ... but 1 is wrong as is 3 as per current rules. But , if one is wrong optionACD are wrong.

Precarious position ...  The word MUST BE is a rider.  1 could be plainly right is "MUST BE " not there.

What I feel , Professors se question mangaane ke baad ... kam se kam ek liguist se verify karwa lena chahiye upsc ki .. ko jo likha hai uska matlab hai jo poochna chaah raha hai professors.
P.S. - Professors usually have poor and workable english except few.

Thanks.

@Harmony true. Many of my juniors in my organization gave the pre casually. They did full tukkebaazi and I find 2-3 of them scoring really good. Science ke questions me all d marna hai. This only seems to be the mantra.

And we fools tried to evaluate every option on its merit and ended up screwing the answers. Khair, no regrets. Whatever happens happens for good.
UPSC ho na ho, my only goal for the next one month is to inculcated the following virtue in my life

Especially for paper 1 every year (just for laughs)

after checking answer keys of different institutes (me): okay so 3-4 answers vary which might be doubtful

after visiting forumias (me):all 100 are doubtful! :joy::sweat_smile::joy:

I am assuming at least 20 to be doubtful.

However, In my attempted questions kitty , only 6 or 7 are doubtful.

I have already deducted .67 for all doubtful abd landed up at clean score of 92.

I think its comforting isnt it???

Bhai take coaching for maths and reasoning...it will benefit lot...khud se discipline nahi ata....do everyday 1 hour for few months....

You are not alone. You have guts to qualify any kind of paper 1. That is gud news.

Bad news- Dont be lazy next time. Dont think you have super human ability to do paper 2 without any practice at all. ( i lost 2017 and 2019 in paoer2 .. learnt the lesson... this time practiced paper 2 religiously .. and got dignified score ... almost all maths correct .. attempted only 5 or 6 passages. Even my all passage go wrong .. I m still above 70)

So, Move on ... Learn about paper 2 practice and get yourself qualified. It is better to accept the mistake due to your delinquency and make the things in next attempt. Acceptance of mistakes is better than remorse for the things we did bad by ourselves.

Thanks.

For the MPLAD Scheme, theguidelinesfocus on the creation of durable community assets like roads, school buildings etc.

Recommendations for non-durable assetscan be madeonly under limited circumstances.

Consider some of the observations made by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India:

Expenditure incurred by the executing agencies being less than the amount booked.

Utilisation of funds between 49 to 90% of the booked amount.

The scheme envisages that works under the scheme should be limited to asset creation, but 78% of the                      works recommended were for improvement of existing assets.

Statement 1 said 'must' but the guideline of creating durable assets was flouted more often than not.

I marked statement 1 wrong because I vaguely remembered an MP giving ex gratia to a person killed in an accident. But I found no such news on googling.

So Which option you marked if you took statement 1 as wrong ... Indeed 3 and 4 isnt it ?

Can anybody help regarding the following-

Q. Which part of the constitution of India declares ideal of welfare state ? For this question, all answer keys have provided answer as DPSP.

I marked it as preamble thinking that preamble is a declaration mentioning social, economic justice, equality without explaining in detail. But DPSP is not just declaration rather it explains in detail what welfare state actually is.

Question only talks abt part which declares. I think preamble declares  ideal which reflect welfare state whereas  DPSP is part where welfare state is not just declared, it is mentioned that too in great detail.

Does anybody else also think the same way.

Also, there is another question related to separation of executive and judiciary, the answer of which is DPSP. So, there was also thinking in my mind , will upsc give same answer i.e. DPSP for two questions in the same paper.

Yaar ab aise sabka kuch na kuch galat hai fir.

You throw a stone on a question ... By the same deductions based logic ..  Other guy will say some others are wrong.

I think .. whatever marks we have right now ... 3 or 4 questions may go right while same could go wrong simultaneously. Out current score will be either +3 or so or minus. So, It will be tough to debate and come to conclusion and interpret what UPSC exactly means by such questions.

We did whatever best we thought and interpreted and studied.

Let it be so now .. and study 40 days. If not selected... Itna saal se aisi taisi kara rahe hai 40 days aur sahi ...

That's only wise thing from my little brain i could suggest.

Yes .
I debated a lot about 5 or 6 question on forum last year. Nobody took me right.
For ex -
1. Ramsar me second statement... I marked that wrong.
2. LA to loksabha .. I marked that right.
and many others.

These two nobody given as right .. no key etc.
and this is not first time. My personal experience is that .. In complex looking statement.. UPSC takes Layman view as answer.
2016 .. Mine from key 102 .. UPSC marksheet 112
2017. 98 by keys .. UPSC 107
2018 .. by keys 102 to 105 .. UPSC. 112(Gave forest as bonus that year).
2019 by keys 96 to 102 .. Marks 110.

Its huge for me always.

Ab toh nothing can be done about the paper, so shouldn’t worry and remain positive.

That depends... You just need not to worry much. Just study.

My score also dropped this year to 92 to 98 mx. Cant help it. Gud thing is I saved paper 2.  So .. I am OK with whatever i am getting in Paper .. Rest is God's  doing.

In 2017 and 2019 . .. I destroyed my paper 2 .. and Paper 2 took revenge by spoiling my two years.

One of my friends also gave the pre casually, he is not even a civil services aspirant nor he is planning to prepare for this exam in future. And he hasn't even seen the cover of laxmikant or spectrum or studied anything for this exam, so to speak. He gave the exam just to get the feel of it and for fun. After the exam I asked him how much you are getting, he said 70 marks after attempting close to 100 questions. I asked him how did he do it. He said by common sense, logic, and blind guesses. So it's true, it is possible to get good score by tukke baaji also especially in this paper coz current affairs portion was drastically reduced this time, it is difficult to guess in current affairs questions if you haven't studied them. The scope of tukkebaji and guessmastergiri is more in general science type of questions, biology, AI n Bio tech type of questions.

Aye Aye sir.

I know it.

I qualified Pre in 2015 .. just by two months shallow study.

That lead me to leaving my job .. in 2016 .. Though I gave two interviews since then. But ,The reality is Pre dont matter no matter how you qualify. Final selection is what matters. And Final selection is very close competition after mains exam. Too competitive.. bcoz I lost 2018 final list just by 12 marks.. spoiled my interview badly.. Tukkas cant make or take  anybody so far. I am myself an experiment of that.

@SergioRamos Hey preparing facts for 30 mins. I like that idea. Could you give a source too? :)

I personally think ..

The exam is now Objective mains. I mean .. Study for mains thoroughly and practice for pre on that basis. Paper is going towards more conceptual type than factual type .. It require more common sense and Calmness to solve paper than a mad rush to finish two rounds. I realized this in 2020.

Better one should prepare thoroughly for mains and just practice the pre things MCQ and questions to build aptitude to solve Objective questions from mains type topics which are being asked now in objective form. For ex - 4 statements per question .. Its too much .. If we prepare pre in regular rattafication way .. we will tend to do tukka in half of those.

An 18 year old can be minister for 6 months only. To sum up.

However, If you like to dig up ... If you somewhere find any specific criteria/qualification for being a minister .. then it will become untrue. I do not know any such.

Acha .. Also .. as far as 6 months wala article is concerned... It has not specified any criteria for being a  minister at first hand ... It just provides .. He cant continue to be minister after 6 months without being member of house.

@Aurang_mirasudar AI is D no.matter what, you can even google Songs made by AI

Q.18) With the present state of development, Artificial Intelligence can effectively do which of the following?

  1. Bring down electricity consumption in industrial units
  2. Create meaningful short stories and songs
  3. Disease diagnosis
  4. Text-to-speech conversion
  5. Wireless transmission of electrical energy

Select the correct answer using the code given below:

(a) 1,2,3 and 5 only

(b) 1,3, and 4 only

(c) 2,4,and 5 only

(d) 1,2,3,4 and 5

Justlook at the question. 5 is absolutely wrong. Even If i consider .. 2 as right. It is not part of options. So .. You remove 5 .. B is the only option left.

So, B is answer. 5 is absolutely wrong and 2nd is just a contingency of 5 as there is no other option to pick.

Simple hai .  The moment you remove.. You have correct option to choose.

I have watched a clip from some news channel during triple talak bill on Rakhmabai. The Rakhmabai case has ancedote almost same. But, During exam, I was not able to recall exact implication of that and left the question.
Also, - For vidhwanshak book, i figured out by reverse psychology it is not gandhi and ambedkar and phule and zeroed on option 1 .. but left it as well... I got huge temptations to mark A but being safe avoided the question.

Also for desher katha , I was aware about .. what is desher katha and also that it is related to old bengal movements .. but .. not sure about options. The name "kar" is marathi name .. so confused more .. and safely left it.

ultimately.. what else i could have done .. because I do not have any sound reasoning to do these other than wild guesses.

@kartikeybhatt171778  yes there are AI songs, but the issue isAI doesn't generate the whole meaningful song by itself. Artist has to actively intervene, rearrange, and give shape to the incoherently and disjointedly uttered words given by AI. It is given innews article interviewing artist "Taryn Southern"who madefamous songs like "Break free" in the album "I am AI".
Note:Music(just sound) is different from songs(with lyrics)
Also, I think UPSC intentionally made the Q with certain terms("present state", "effectively", "meaningful"), which leads to the elimination of 2,5 statements.

This is what I am saying.
For 5th let me inform you -  The thoery for wireless transmission of electricity proposed and demonstrated by tesla first time in one of his experiment. since that time to now subject is under reasearch phase only. The first DEMO now for this is happening in newzealand by startup EMROD  in august 2020. Note, Only demonstration .. they are far away from making it vaiable to market.

I believe august is the time when Paper was under development and .. someone picked up this gaga event and put it in one of option.  and "At present level"   --- It may be possible ... but question is not using word possible but .. what can be done or in practice if you say.

and option 2 and 5 if removed completes the  scenario.

@gauravbrly409    Not only question mentions at present level but it also mentions effectively, I dont thing based on research paper answer will be D, most likely UPSC will go with option B.

Probkem kya hai na.. log pahle tukka maar ke aate hai .. fir google se answer theek karne ki koshish karte hai. and fir yaha par evidence dete hai.
No offence to anybody and including myself - If we have googled all such things before exams ...  The things could have been different.

and option 5 -  ko jab physics hi ab tak marketize nahi kar paayi to AI usme kaun sa naya aayam laga degi !!

@kartikeybhatt171778 Is question related to machine learning or artificial intelligence?  I haven't find anything on web which says AI at present is used in wireless transmission of electrical energy and can "effectively" make stories songs
Same is the case with blockchain question. Answer doesn't seem D) because some applications do require permission as per niti ayog report.

The permission is required for transactions. It is not about you need authoirties permission. The blockchain structure is a decentralized ladger.. where adding new transaction which is represented by a new block .. needs to be passed and in agreement by all the parties involved. New block can not be added without asking for permission of other stakeholders involved in the blockchain. so, Without permission of all stakeholders and coming up with a common agreement which defines the authenticity for new block ... you cant develop a block chain application.  Remember, blockchain is a decentralized ledger shared among all the stakeholders involved. Each stakeholder has to authenticate the newly added block... and block once added it is read only and the ledger is also read only.. which makes it temper proof and secure.

Hope now it will be clear that -  Creating blockchain application .. you need to get permission from many stakeholders which are involved in the creation and maintenance of software based on blockchain.

@Challenger_Deep bhut bhut badhai..my fate doesnt hang on this question anyways..i just said what i thought while answering...that wireless charging is very common so why couldnt AI do it..anyways good for you and others if this.one gets correct 😁😁😁... Wireless charging and wireless transfer of electricity are two different things actully.

Wireless charging is low emf transfer based concept and can serve not more than 1 or 2v. .. it is used in reading RFI tags and low volatage communication devices.

However, wireless transmission of electricity is different term .. andtransmission  in power sector - denotes something more.

If you trust institutes... I gave up all my logic and learning then.

Institutes are good for static(even I doubt that too) but in Current Affairs they are similar like us. ... No difference.

Thanks.

@prachimalik1121311 problem with institutes' keys: No one is justifying 5th statement, In 2nd statement:Vajiramcited example of "Sunspring" story which is not"meaningful" andVision IAScited example of "I am AI"Album which is created with help of AI(not by AI).
My take: All institutes aretaking "all of the above" for granted in Sci & techQs, and are not even bothering to look one step deeper to check what they are citing is right or wrong.

I am curious to know evidence of option 5 ... 2nd is just contingency !!

Lots of debate going aroun AI, I knew that ai has written songs and even just a while back ips officer bothra who is quite famous on Twitter had shared an article written completely by AI on Guardian. Still i eliminated options containg "2" because if one has been fan of premchand, chekhov, amitav ghosh etc instead of chetan bhagat et al or  if one listen to the songs written by sahir, gulzar, pradeep etc instead of the ones sung by badshah/honey singh then he would know that "presently" it's not possible for ai to do these things in "meaningful or effective" manner. However, this being highly subjective, ultimately depends upon upsc's discretion.

Indeed you are right. even if you google right now ... like AI song generator, AI poetry etc. The basics demos are available.
But, everybody is ignoring the fact that - option 5 is there.. People do not have evidence to make it.

Has upsc released 2019 marks?

Official key has been released .. you can check and count for yourself.

@gauravbrly409 it can be another digital signature type of question
Nobody is giving a solid logic for choosing the last option.Everywhere it is clearly mentioned that these are immutable

Immutablity is the state of blockchain data after addition. but you cant add a block of new tranx without permission of others. They are forgetting that every block in chain can only be added by the permission of all the stakeholders in the blockchain ledger.  That is the keyfeature of Blockchain.

@gauravbrly409 no its not absolutely wrong, and considering the trend, upsc will take it D. look all other sciebce questions, people argued a lot for biomass in 2019, but upsc took D as correct

That is the only reason people marked it D. It's science question upsc will go with D.

yaar ye kya hai ..science ques - upsc will go with D. Sahi  hai yaar !!

Ok bhai .. Tumhi hi sahi ho.

By the way , I am interested to know who is providing tech for wireless transmission of electricity. Tell me few  companies who have launched it in to market successfully????
Evidence naam ki bhi koi cheej hoti hai sir.
UPSC took gases right because .. Secondary pollutants me vo nikalti hai.
But, Here in this .. No distant relationship of Wireless transmission and AI thing. UPSC dont stretch too far to make D correct. Ok.
And .. Dont rub  science ka D hi hota hai logic on my nose. If you have..... Please provide some crude or even partial evidence to say statement 5 right.

For 2019 gas wala , There was partial evidence to prove that could be released. Ok.
Hope .. Logic still not have died  against tukka baaji !!

Even if there was an option AI can bring dead people to life, they would still have marked it all. Afterall it's science question.

In that case.. Now i am thinking .. Why I am still alive !!

I doubt the answers provided by almost all the institutes of the question about minimum number of days the Parliament is required to meet.

The constitution does mention that there should'nt be more than 6 months gap between each session, and that does imply that minimum number should be 2. Idk why anybody is not discussing about this.

Article 85(1) of the Constitution empowers the President tosummon each House of Parliament to meet at such time and placeas he thinks fit, but six months shall not intervene between itslast sitting in one Session and the date appointed for its firstsitting in the next Session. [Notwithstanding outer limit laid downin article 85, the Parliament may have to be called before 31 Marchin order to pass at least a Vote on Account to carry on theadministration as no money can be withdrawn from theConsolidated Fund of India except under appropriation madeby law passed in accordance with article 114(3). Besides, articles352(4 &8), article 356(3) and article 360(2)(c) lay down certaintime limits for summoning the Houses of Parliament.] ThePresident exercises the power to summon the Houses on therecommendation of the Prime Minister or the Cabinet.Normally, three Sessions, namely the Budget, Monsoon andWinter Sessions, are held in a calendar year. The question ofhaving more or less fixed dates for the commencement of thethree Sessions was considered by the General Purpose Committeeof the Lok Sabha at their sitting held on 22 April, 1955, and theyrecommended the following time-table for the three Sessions:

I hope it answers your question.

Q.41) With reference to the history of India, consider the following pairs:

  1. Aurang
In-charge of treasury of the State
    2. BanianIndian agent of the East India Company
     3. MirasidarDesignated revenue payer to the State

Which of the pairs given above is/are correctly matched ?

(a)    1 and 2 only

(b)   2 and 3 only

(c)    3 only

(d)   1, 2 and 3

I have marked 3 only.

I remembered that - Gomestas are actually official agents of company. However, Baninans act as mediator for EIC to setup thier business and carry out trade and all such facilitation.

My understanding is below. Please let if I am wrong.

A contemporary described  the banianas an individual, “By  whom  the  English  gentlemen  in  general conduct all their business. He is interpreter, head book-keeper, head secretary, head broker, the supplier of cash and cash-keeper, and in general also secret-keeper.”The term was used widely in Bengal to designate the native who managed the money concerns of the European and sometimes served him as an interpreter. In plain term, he was a commission agent for the Europeans traders.

Thegomasthaswere Indian agents of the British East India Company, who signed bonds with the local weavers and artisans to deliver goods to the Company. They also fixed the prices of the goods.

Even if we Consider last year's preparation level of students ----

1--The tough question paper will lead to atleast 1 mistake under pressure by a general student. This will result in reducing an avg of 2.67 marks.

2--to save negatives many of us reduced their attempted questions. (At least 1 mark difference)

3-- corona crises, less prep due to closure of coachings, library etc, last attempt candidates(within age limit ) preferred skipping this attempt etc etc factor(not seen before) .... 1 question reduced(-2.67)...

So cut off will be around 98-2.67-2.67-1=91.66

Also, even if upsc provides the paper in Persian language some of the candidates will still score 110+:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: so don't loose hope nearly 10,000 will write mains and cut off will be below 93/94.

Take a bow for last point .. Paper in persian ans still 110 . .. Some  guys have uncanny ability to fix things up.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights wale question me the answer should be A. 1 and 2 only. Fundamental duties do not reflect UNDHR principles as such

This was very complex. UNDHR is just a set of principles and ... actually in consonance with all 3.

I doubted the FD part but there are certain UDHR which correlate to FD. But, I am not vouching for it as well strongly.

I marked All 3 correct. There are only partial reasons to include FD.

It could be or could not be. Not sure. Only UPSC knows.

@azam_imame434 In this paper scoring above 110+ is very tough, it can be either tukka or very strong luck. Last year I scored 114, now this year I am in the zone of 92-100. Many first timer tend to be liberal while counting their core, and actual core are generally 10-15 mark lower than they claim.  I have done it in my first attempt. Even if I have had avoided 2 silly mistake which I did, I couldn't cross 105+, that' a drop of 7-10 marks . And veteran generally do not tend to inflate their score. Cut off won't go beyond 98. It can even fall to 90-92.

This time it is my lowest score. Lastly it was 112, 107 , 112 .  I usually do not do tukka and only sound guessing. Usually have good accuracy and ... use to attempt lesser questions. This it seems .. it backfired. I  am cursing myself now that I could have bubbled 10 more atleast ... kam se kam kuch tukke mere bhi chal hi jaate sayad.

@jagteshwar_sohal25614 but a specified portion has to be spent on sc/st...this option is right

After thinking lot ... MPLAD me ... carried away wala statement chod ke .. all are correct. MPLAD primarily ..  Durable asset ke liye hai(though people do other things). But, Option me 1 hatane me .. 3 and 4 only bachta hai. 3 And 4 only to totally galat hai. If you look at options.

1 is contingently correct. SC St and 10% wala sahi hai .. lapsable wala galat hai . So bacha kya options me . 1 3 4 .. I think.

statement 1 is correct just because no other options to tick. .. and partially correct to hai 1 vaise bhi.

What else can I do?

As home loans always taken from financial institutions......so just eliminate it nd get the answer......

Credit card could be the confusing if 2 nd 3 would have been as option but no option so credit card in general taken as bank credit card....

I just wanted to share this plz dont argue if u think u r right with 123

So you mean .. Only 3 T bill is right answer !

Lemme tell you.

I applied same logic as you told .. and I opted gor T bills.

Also .. 1 2 3 can never be answere... Because the nature of above two and nature of T bill as instrument is different. So, I thought T bill is only one which is pertaining to this.

Now all questions are moderate to difficult... A person familiar with subjects can only answer... Every time around 10 marks come from this sitters

.. Now this 10 marks is not easily available to everyone...  Out of my huge experience this time cutoff will go down.. But I don't know how much..

At least by 5 marks

@beginn371316 yes bro, there is confusion because of civilian word. But i think upsc will go with D. I myself has marked B. This question like many others is vaguely worded. Rural employment growth has increased since 1991. There was a report of ILO regarding rural economy India employment status which showed data from 1991 to 2003 which clearly showed that rural employment increased by 1 percent per year and non farm sector in particular in rural economy increased by more than 1 percent during that period. You can google the report and check.

There is no other most appropriate answer.

and the word written in *british civilians*. The school was to train british officers only. So ,It makes sense for only D. All other options are quite distant.

No permission is required for block chain is 100% settled thing (Because few days back I read in TH that telangana or AP government used block chain technology in LAND RECORDS, SO obviously it don't require any permission to develope such programings/algos). Crypto currency is just an application/part of block chain technology not the block chain itself.

Even I did 1 and 3.  But , The word *basic features only* giving me nightmares now. The answer seems only 1.  3 seems incorrect unless you are doing blockchain dovt in collaboration withother stakeholders.

I gave two interviews in 2018 and 2016. Getting 90 to 95 only. The thing with old timers is avoiding penalties... and that reduced the no of questions attempted.. and most of the senior guys take calculated risk so most of old people in my touch have score in 90 to 105 bracket.

This is the lowest I have ever got in paper 1.

Also , I believe most of people who have attempted more may have 5 to 6 questions in controversy ... and assume 50% have some other options and 50% have some other for same question. Ultimately one of 50% will lose. So, By law of averages , The cut off will remain around 95 or so. Cutoff oe impact to nahi aayega.. But personally kuch log kaa katne ka chance jarur hai.

Hope god helps everyone.

Is the judicial review question’s answer B ?

I took basic structure as correct. I focussed more on *in terms of* .. and statement seems correct in general reading.

Now , Upsc knows only. Deducted 2.67 for this also already.

@beginn371316 bhai, constitution clearly provides for judicial review! wo toh basic structure hain. SC invented Basic structure but kept things in constitution in basic structure only not the outside things of constitution. So basic structure in invented by SC not in Constitution. Judicial Review is in constitution and SC shields or protects it by keeping it in basic structure. simple as that.

Judicial review is also not explicitly written if we go by law of verbatims.

Constitution *provides* ... Yes it provides.

Constitution defines ... Sounds dubious now.

Is anyone in touch with experienced students who cleared mains last year ..how much do they r getting ...I have seen many friends that due to hesitation they r not admitting ki they r scoring below 90 marks .... I may not b true but aisa lag rha hai ki ek sannata hai sabke Man mein .. suddenly everyone is saying ki exam June mei hi hai waise bhi 2021 Ka so let s see

One rank holder getting 130, other rank holder 92, one who gave interview getting 104, other two giving interview in 80s. However sample is non representative.

It is quite obvious. I am not surprised.

Paper was like...

Najar hati ..Durghatna ghati !!

So .. Most of log ki najar Hati hai and now we are feeling pain. There are only few who may be able to spot beyond the gimmicks in questions.

Not only this one ... You may find few other questions which you may have done wrong due to just dubious use of english in questions.

However, I cant vouch .. but will be surprised if basic structure wala will go correct.

Cut off 100% Same hi rahega 97-98! almost same as last year.

because tukke baaji mein overall luck always remains same in any field. Its law of conservation of energy. balances always just like in 2018-19.

Individual luck may vary but on a whole overall luck will be same.

Law of Conservation of cutoff.

Article 32 debates as per book "cornerstone of nation by godwin Austin "clearly mentions Ambedkar views on inclusion of judicial review as per USA and in article 13 and Article 32 there is a concept of judicial review ....in the constitution there is provision of judicial review but it's the supreme court which has time and again elaborated this and made judicial review as basic structure of constitution...however basic structure concept is not given originally in constitution and hence second  is correct

The word PROVIDES makes all that correct.

The word DEFINES makes all first wrong. Hitherto, It would be PROVIDES for statement 1 .. that may also be correct then. The word DEFINE is now difficult to DEFINE now.

@Equalizer Gandhi Irwin Delete nahi karega. I don't think so. Every year something happens with translation.
Preamble is very much debatable. A or D. I marked C :D But A ka chances jyaada hain.
If it's a part of constitution and if it is not justiciable strictly and as mentioned in Laxmikanth - Then It should be A. baaki coaching waala v sahi reason de nahi paa rahe hain.

SC kya bola bhai? Kaha bola only dependent on others hi hain nahi toh koi legal effect nahi bolke? Its all speculation. but lets see.
If its a part why it shouldnot have any legal effect if any one deletes somepart without affecting basic structure? means no body can approach court if something happens to preamble only?
If u apply rules stricly then its A. non justificiable.

If Gandhi irwin is not deleted everyone would be awarded marks. It's the same thing.

In preamble question IMO legality is not synonyms with justiciability, it can be used by the court to decide constitutionality of legislation. This is what I understood. Rest upsc is boss.

If legal effect is not synonyms with Justiciability ... Then .. Option C is most appropriate.

Otherwise .. I go for D.

No. Outside other part it has no legality. Only when some part of the constitution is given effect mainly DPSP, preamble comes into play.

Apan ko vishwas nahi ho raha ki itne saal isme bi confusion hi rah gaya !!

@Equalizer I strongly feel that it cannot be D.
They have just given option D to confuse just like in AI (Wireless).
Its a more over blunt question. Preamble is either a part or not. its a part. done
Preamble does have legal effect or not. It doesnt have or it does have. done and dusted.
No more diplomatic answers. SC never said anything about it. It interprets constitution taking preamble context but when it comes to legal effect. there are only two options. it does or doesn't. there is no diplomatic answer.
I guess answer will be A.

@gauravbrly409 I think this kind of reasoning is not a valid reasoning. A person in order to be appointed a minister should have qualifications of a member of the concerned legislature. It’s the job of the Governor to see this while while administering oath. By your logic, even a child, or animal can be made a minister, which surely can’t be. Constitution should be read in its entirety, not in bits and pieces. Answer of this question should be D.

Couldn't disagree with you though. And  .. i m not the constitution expert also.

Guys, I’m someone who always cleared prelims (5), and also mains(5), and 3 time’s recommended by USPC (currently in Service). I’ve never seen so much confusion and disorder after a UPSC prelims, except a couple of questions here and there. I think we should get over this asap. Best wishes!!

I second your word. Though not recommended but faced interview twice. I too have same observations.

Paper seem to be easy at home .. like isme to kuch bhi nahi tha. But .. In exam hall, It was like machine gun firing the bullets and  you are just taking cover here and there by some correct markings, some good guessing by peripheral knowledge , some tukkas and some wild guesses at end. Some simple questions (seemingly simple at home) were messed up my many people during exam hall pressure. So,. I think most of people are. in the raange of 105 to 90 and cut off will be somewhere around 90 to 95.

Thanks.

Agreed ....there was a time ( when gs 1 of prelims was less important and people used to qualify pre with csat) when static portion was given a lot of importance because to write good answers you are required  to be rock solid with static knowledge. Then ,came 2016 prelims paper .A complete current affairs oriented paper .From there on coachings made a paradigm shift in their approach .Every Tom ,Dick ,Harry scheme of government has become a topic of detailed discussion. Craze of current affairs has reached to a level that in the last couple of months of preparation (before the exam )students read only current affairs and government schemes .Basic books like NCERT ,spectrum and Lakshmikant are not even touched .Coachings having realised this demand and are busy pumping in more and more current affairs.Meanwhile ,focus on developing good static content and updating it with time is ignored .

And .. I am really sick of .. Lot of institutes who proliferated under the disguise of teachIng Current Affairs .. become a ful fledged IAS academy... teaching everything up to interview .. and with questionable intents.

Results were

>98    4 percent

96-98  45 percent

94-96  45 percent

<94    6 percent

There has been a lot of discussion on answers and now discussion on cutoff should also end .All the best for mains to everyone clearing prelims.

You should ask them if that includes the gandhi irwin thing. Am getting a feeling that it will be deleted

Even if it will be deleted or retained .. does not make much difference .

Obviously it won't. But on deletion the cutoff will be 2 or more marks less. Why so? Coz this is a question that most have done correctly. It was prolly "the easiest" or one of the easiest 5 questions in the paper. So you get my point? If there were 25 easy questions, now it becomes 24, with one of the easiest gone.

I got your point.

The blame should be equally shouldered by irresponsible megalomaniacs who once they see themselves in the list will take money from such institutes to sell "hacks" in the name of crash course and be inspiring junta to do more mocks religiously in their pep talks.

If the only selling pitch the coachings have is to show those 20 25 questions (that anyone could have done reading laxmikanth, and even after that giving wrong answers, as in preamble and minister one) then they should hang their heads in shame.

The ROI of doing mocks is tbh pretty poor. Rather do PYQ to get feel of such things like marking D in snt.

Same goes for mains. You are the content differential. Everyone will write mains 365. But go the extra mile and get better content. It does get rewarded. Not so much in gs, but in essays and optional, its the game changer.

Lastly. And very importantly. The whole fear regarding prelims is much less for IFOS bunch. I mean a guy preparing for ifos almost always has a 8 10 mark edge over a civilguy. Upsc since 2017 has very very sincerely made a paper where at least some questions will give ifos people privilege. Things just took a nasty bend this year. The fact that a civil guy has to know nasty little known facts about forests, and ecology, which aren't even gonna be anywhere in his domain, is pretty much laughable.

Also, if you think next year se hum agri ka booklet padhke jaenge, wait before UPSC makes some SEBI/RBIesque paper 😂🤣

Actually...

As far as I know from all questions and my preparation

1. Except few question (almost 15) all question can be answered from static studies of regular books+NCERT.

2. Regular reading of newspaper is more important ... though monthly magazine and compilation has its purpose. But , The questions were asked in such manner which require like ... If somebody is reading newspaper and living with exam .. could be answered very easily.

3. We did not expected paper like this... So, Performance gone down. That's the only reason. Nothing is out of resources though except few.

But, It can never be said that the regular holistic way of studying only regular books , newspaper and one of good magazine is not sufficient to attempt 80 to 90 questions in this exam. The regular holistic mode of preparation is remain what is required.

Also, Repeating guys(some freshers too if they got free money) fall more in to trap of 3 minute study shops and 10 min unacademy videos . But, In totality, Things remains same ... Holistic study and thorough understanding of syllabus and current events is crux . Compilations lost value because UPSC pre is again going analytical like old days ... and left its flavour of asking pointed current(as from 2011 to 2016 to 18) . For ex - During preparation ... People do not debate on concepts now a days(that is post prelim work)☺️, Before that , We believe whatever we have read we have clear concepts.. But actually .. even on simple polity things .. we are not able to drive single absolute answer for few questions.

Just my personal opinion.

Just an opinion

Read this-- "Automated storytelling is a process involving the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to create written stories. Although automated storytelling isfar away from being able to construct genuinely creativeand insightful novels, the process has been steadily improving to handle basic applications."

https://www.google.com/amp/s/searchenterpriseai.techtarget.com/definition/automated-storytelling%3famp=1

The article  is from 2019.Not very old.

I think a lot of people  r confusing  with AI
Music and AI song.It is easy to create AI generated  music but difficult  to create song

In the AI question-it asked meaningful  short stories  and songs.

2016 Daddy's  car  a song by AI It says

The songs also still require professional mixing and mastering, as the Flow Machines software doesn't yet have the capability to produce that itself.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.www.complex.com/music/2016/09/artificial-intelligence-new-song-daddys-car

The latest AI music generator  is Jukebox

Launched in 2020

https://www.google.com/amp/s/thenextweb.com/neural/2020/04/30/this-ai-creates-entire-songs-complete-with-music-lyrics-and-vocals/amp/

But after reading  it I found-It lacks the prowess to follow basic music structure. You’ll notice there aren’t any repeating hooks or lyrical bridges.Unfortunately, you can’t get Jukebox to generate new music just yet.

Tension mat lo. Do statement wrong hai .. meaningful story and wireless transmission.

Chill and enjoy. Mains ka pado.

Hello wonderful people writing my hurt out!!

First attempt @21  Upsc 2018 pre failed !!

Second attempt @22 Upsc pre 2019 failed!!

Third attempt @24 due to delay in exam Upsc GS -102 Shankar IAS , Csat 52 failed !!

Don't know what to being a history graduate from tier 3 university of UP and being the eldest son it is becoming more and more problematic .My short temper father have  lost faith in me that I can do anything .

Living in Patel Nagar(Delhi ) and asking money from him is make my self respect worthless and he just get irritated  while talking to me .

Kuch samajh  nhi aa RHA hai such mai ..

My mother is on medication and being independent is only to way to support her because my father is obsessed about he don't care about my mother .

Bus csat mai  3 times fail hua phir bhi nhi seekha  galti SE apni ..isbaar  ho jaata  agar csat hota to...

Mains ko tyri achi this but now o don't know what to do .

Gave uppcs  but that paper was third class too many facts !!

I am.mentally disturbed and it is taking toll on my health .

It is simple... when you are f**ed professionally and personally... Then..

Start with professional life first .. Fixing profesional life is easy .. Get some job as per your current level of skills. Little money goes a long way in fixing personal life. We do not have much control over personal life of ours and also loved one around us. So .. Trying to fix personal  life lead you nowhere .

I did it twice... One of my friend a fellow aspirant... become physics teacher and left to tamilnadu. Few of aspirants I knew joined as part time tutors and then graduated to be part of some coaching institute of UPSC. If you cant do anything... Teach kids for 3 or 4 hours .. make money and Prepare again. Everyone's parents in middle class have limited money... and can afford two or 3 year max in delhi. After that , Aspirants look for themselves to atleast partially meet thier expenses. You are not special .. dont cry. Your parents gave you 3 years .. that is what they can afford. Now onus on you... Be reasonable and earn money. (sorry for being hard and rude on you. but this is what life is .. if you. belong to lower middle or middle class ).

Open your eyes and look .. Money solves lot of problems.. Go and earn  it and prepare alongside!!

Answer is right. It is 1 foot

7.5 - 3.25*2= 1

like put 7.5 first.

mark 3.25 once .. then again mark 3.25 ... .. you measure and reduced 6.5 now from 7.5 stick. Less is 1 foot.

So, 1 foot

yes. Answer is D. You cant figure out which is largest. because .. you are still not sure If S Eq R or S lt R.

@Upright  They are overthinking in this question..answer should be C.
If P Q R and S are only members
R is greater then P and Q and S is not largest, so what left R is largest..

Not overthinking. Question said - Can you figure out larger one among all.

Ans is not clearly. because :

1. R n S both could be Largest.

2. R is only largest but if S is lesser than R(which is not given in S1 n S2)

Answer is 0.25 foot.

Wo jo 1foot Nikala h usse 3.25 waale rod me 3 baar me  3 feet tak naap sakte h. Remaining .25 would be the smallest bit.

@Knt get a good job again and start your life. Even if my juniors come and visit me to ask for my advice I tell them not to attempt this exam. I was in the same boat once, by god's grace something else came along the way and I was able to get out.

PS unnecessary advice

You  can even use my approach. Get a job after college... Work for 2 or 3 years. Get experience and job learning. Side by side try reading syllabus .

Then once you are sure for any year  that you want to attempt full time.. leave job and plan well.. and save money from job and give a year to crack it.(left job in 2016 to  2017 )

but if something bad happens (reached interview in 16 and failed in prelims 2017) Join job again .. 1 year gap is considerable in market.. you will again get gud job and little hike in package. Then .. prepare again along side job .. and  .. Use weekend and leaves in very planned manner and give exam... There is 3 months notice period ... plan well in advance .( I resigned before pre 2018 .. took leave of 15 days before pre 2018 and qualified.. and notice period of mine came to end in August 2018 ... Got 1 month for revision and reorganization.  gave both forest and upsc mains and interview for 2018- 2019.. But, Just after forest mains in 2018 dec... I immediately joined job again ... and gave interview along with job ... but not got final selection )

Then .. in april .. left job for 2019 pre  again .. but messed up paper 2 .. failed. Then, Joined job again and with almost 50% hike in package .

Started preparing for pre 2020 along with job then. Took 15 days leave before prelims for final revision. Planned well in advance for pre 2020. It worked finally this year.

I am still in job will take 15 day leave again just before mains. I am devoting every single minute I get for exam preparation except job hours. Also, Good money helps you a lot. Job environment helps you to interact with people and release your pressure from mind.

For me - I was failed whenever I quite job  and I qualified exam along with job. I realized that when you feel you have got lot of time.. we tend to be lazy and careless ... and somewhere indesciplined. Job makes you disciplined .. because you have less time .. you focus more on finishing targets as quickly as possible . You get money ..You can arrange a little better lifestyle and facilities and feel happy in mind.

Hopping in hopping out from Job for 6 months or a year for exam is verry much feasible.

In my 2018 interview , The first question for me was

*Gaurav, You have got excellence award this year.. what you did please tell us .

Also, There was so many questions related to my job they asked  in interview. That provided me a new channel to showcase my personality and skills other than upsc syllabus.

My benefits :

1. My father is retired .. I am single earner in my family. I get gud money to maintain myself and my parents and family and do all expenses related to exam as well. (savings is important dont throw all money in bar and pubs on weekend)

2. A kind of security.. That I will not end up bad.. after all if nothing atleast earning well and make something out of it.

3. I study very peacefully without worries.

4. Parents dont interfere much in my life because .. I am doing my stuff with my money .. so .. I got leverage of all decision making related to exam ..and all.

After college ... My personal opinion is - Either join job for 2 year and then prepare and leave job for 2 attempt.  Or .. Prepare well for 2 years give two attempts and join a gud job .. and then give attempts only when u feel u r ready.. Dont waste attempts and life by giving attempts every year .. It will mess you up and .. God forbid .. If you turn unlucky in all 4 or 5 attempts.. You will feel like a loser in life.. Then... You have to do lot pf emotional labour to counter your bad psyche first.

So , Money matters and job matters.  Blend it with exam preparation... Hop in and out of job as per your level of preparation !!

Thanks.

@KratosOfPUBG This is the last time I m replying  about  AI now.Again Song creation is correct but meaningful  effectively  NO.

https://www.eyerys.com/articles/news/jukebox-ai-can-create-entire-songs-complete-lyrics-and-vocals

"People also can’t get Jukebox to generate new music just yet, and it takes about nine hours for the AI to render a single minute of music. This essentially puts any large-scale interactive uses out of reach for the time being.

While Jukebox represents a step forward in musical quality, coherence, length of audio sample, and ability to condition on artist, genre, and lyrics, there is a significant limitation to what it can and cannot do."

FOR UR INFORMATION  JUKEBOX OPEN AI DOESN'T  CREATE  OWN  LYRICS.IT ONLY CREATES  MUSIC.DONT READ  HEADLINES ONLY.

And now the audio team of OpenAI has introduced a new machine learning model known as Jukebox that generates music while singing in the raw audio domain. This AI model is fed with genre, artist, and lyrics as input to generate new music samples that are produced from scratch. "

https://analyticsindiamag.com/now-you-can-generate-music-from-scratch-with-openais-neural-net-model/

OpenAI introduces Jukebox, a new AI model that generates genre-specific music

What is the debate for ?

It is well settled that two statements like wireless transmission and meaningful stories are too much far fetched too be correct at present state of AI.

So, Both the statements are out.   The remaining ones are correct only.

Last year I was not getting 66 marks in CSAT even from a single key but I cleared CSAT...so if u r on border line pls dont worry abt it u will get good marks by UPSC key in CSAT..but papr 1 score will definitely vary last year in ppr 1 I was getting 98 from shankar, 93 from vision but according to upsc see the result

60.67 in paper 2 2019 ... Prelims.

Wrath of attempting all the( around 30-32 RCs) last year.

This year just did 7 or 8 RC only .. rest all I did was  quants only. Saved my ass in advance.

15.7k views
@Aurang_mirasudar Sir I attempted only quant and am getting 85 according to vision key do you think it's safe ?

I have got the circle and  also the stick question correct here

Two things :

1. Dont you know .. you requireapprox67 marks only in paper 2.

2. Dont you know - If you did only maths .. and getting 85 .. Your marks will not vary et al. You are simply above the bar.

By asking this question ... Are you safe ... I doubt the ingenuity and intention of your question.

Why are you rubbing salt on others wound by asking something which a fool can predict .. and you sounds no fool as you did all maths correct. It simply means ... You deliberately askin this DUSRO KE MAJE LENE KE LIYE.

Bro .. Its not gud... You did better.. keep it to yourself be happy... but dont insinuate others who somewhat not getting better marks due to any reason. Have some comredieare for fellow aspirants.

Thanks.

More unfortunate is we tell our parents probably we would clear by seeing the predictions that 85+ start preparing ..And then at the same time we end up hurting ourselves and our parents

Then would get few calls ohh you didn't clear you were scoring good ohh you were a bright folk in school and college days and still stuck like this.So called friends ask cleared ?and when replied no they just block or don't reply

Havent studied from the date gave prelims checking this key that key this video that video better to score good and relaxe

If your frnds ... block you when u say no .

Then believe me .. You have no frnds. .. they are just the people who claim to be frnd or u thought u r frnd.

A frnd in need is frnd indeed.. and if it is otherwise .. than that person can he anything but not FRND.

@prachimalik1121311 Worst is that we never understand what consequences this stress would have on our health already living in highly polluted environment.
What chronic disease may hit us in near future nobody knows if we keep hurting ourselves like this

Just take failure as part of life. World is imperfect and so we are. Kabhi kabhi sab sahi nahi hota hai. Be pragmatic and .. Focus on next and forget the result.

Mera bhi nahi hua .. 2019 and 2020 .  Paid lot of cost, left job twice in last 5 years ... handled lot of financial, personal and familial problems and all .......  but things didnt worked out. ... so what ... ab hai to hai. I Cant go back in past and change the stuff that .. I could have done this or that etc etc.  Few mistakes were made ... few of the time luck just crashed on edge of selection by merely 9 marks in 2018 finals. .. Ab kya kare !!

The only way is the .... way forward.  Shed the burden of not coming in list and move to next attempt(only 7 months away) or anything next you may decide.

14.3k views

I’ll share some words about my failure this time. And will be open about the mistakes I made. Hope it helps. So that no one does these.

1: attempted less(79). To be safe one needs 110 taki prelims se mains tak is siyape me na pade.

2: I’ve made mistakes the punishment for which would have been death sentence in medieval ages. (Welfare state, Bangladesh trade, parliament form of govt, I thought exec is resp to LS and not parliament, Marx Gandhi )

3: my attitude while giving the pre. After sometime around 1:30 mins, I m like theek hai. I get a bit casual. There is a change in my posture, the way I sit is no more erect.

4: my attitude while giving test series is not right. jab koi question nai ata I’m like “ye waise bhi nai puchega”. That’s wrong.

5: I stress too much. Agar koi Question bana nai to seedha material change karne ka khayal ata h.

6: last last me dheela pad jana.

7: Maine Abhi tak “Indian constitution at work” nai padhi. sane for society books. Didn’t read seriously. Good part is I made proper notes of old ncerts of even ancient medieval now. Those qs were all correct.

as you can see, my issue is mostly attitude which is what is checked.

so I won’t blame coaching, people, peers, or sources. It’s me.

Thank you. Had to vent out. It was hard work of a proper year(this attempt).

same here.

I too have made some so silly mistakes that the

*punishment should be of  media6val ages.*

14.1k views

Most important is that to have the inner strength to standup again

Your utility will diminish once people start seeing you not clearing few exams (will not call them failures )(because we tried )

Second successive prelims failure of mine and cried a lot after it

My parents said we don't want this exam what we want is you and probably not like this

Will pick up all my effort to give it a try again

Mai to ye sab 3 saal se jhel rahe hu.

. It does not effect me anymore at all. Apan ko ghanta farak nahi padta ki kaun kya bol raha hai hamare haare me.

We own our failures  today, we own our mistakes too... and may be someday when .. we will be successful in our endeavor... We will not own our success ... but donate the credit to parents , family, well wishers , frnds, critics, bad mouth guys ... etc etc and long list.

@gauravbrly409 seriously man . It’s tough to digest failure jab aap bachkaani harkat
karke aate ho. I can’t even blame luck here. What luck is all deliberately going and fudging it all up. It’s a tough pill to digest

So flogging kare kya apni AI Flogging robot vana ke.

I think - The best way to forgive ourselves and take a resolve tp not to repeat ATLEAST such silly things again.

Trust me I have made everything else more important than myself

Last year due to stress and all got diagnosed with a disease with no cure and is almost chronic in nature .Penned down this few days back while suffering over more than one year

Kudos to you.

13.9k views
@gauravbrly409 I crib about me (which is natural cuz I mess up, one thing I’m good at thank god),, but you missed the bus by 9 marks. That must be something.. respect. You’ll be there soon enough.

Missing the bus has a reason ... Luck has no role . But ..All we have to accept is others definitely did better than me.  I always following this line since my childhood when i do not get where I wanted to be. The reality is always - others did better job me. My competitors act as source of inspiration to me to push hard next time and be a better version of yourself what I was earlier.

P.S. - I was not even the better version of myself what I was in 2018 and 2016 and so on.. Those days was like fire .. I not even writing mains of upsc even forests too and even interviews.

But life changed.. Lot of personal and family issues happened.... priorities shifted and I became the worse version of myself than I was. A decay happened in my knowledge and zeal as well. The more years goes on .. the more decay happens .. Cracks come up in us.

I think its time to wrap up and start a fresh.. to he a better version of myself again just once and for all because I have my last attempt left only. Kal result aane ke baad hi mood ban gaya tha mera ... Result did not hurt me .. but evem made me to introspect. I have gone in reverse in knowledge and grit and agency. So, Last attempt is about time to turm the tide.

I am still following the same schedule.. doing every test or note making or optional and all as I have planned for 2020 mains. I am changing no plans. The continuity of efforts and study will be there. No refreshments required ... no cribbing either. All I had to do is study , practice , dont make silly mistakes and shoot well.

2. never completed home work. too boring.

3. Never bothered about rank 1 in class.

evem I use to mock class toppers with some mock questions.

4. Got rusticated in engineering college with some boys gang fights in hostel.

Punish nahi. That's wrong way.

Mathews in bible - *Everybody is worth saving*

Also Godfather part 3 - when Al Pacino visited vatican and confronts bishop - Asks - I have killed my brother for vanity. Could I be saved ?

Bishop said same - *Everybody worth saving. God can forgive all*

So, Bro.. Forgive yourself.. bring peace in your life and start afresh.

Ek dialogue yaad aaya - Jack sparrow ka

*badnaam ho to kya naam na hoga*

So , Mai to bach jaata hu .. Logo ko pata hai ye to hai aisa college se but my academic records and all speaks of distinction.. and people doubt - Isne kaise kar liya ... .. and I love that shock on face of people !!

Also - What I believe .. Apne desh me jo bachpan se machine bana ke bhagaya jaata hai na us se young age me bahut problems aati hai.

What i mean by above is - The society is double mouthed snake .. may be 100 mouths. *Tum society , relatives and parents(demanding type wale) ko kabhi satisfy nahi kar sakte.  Tum aaj acha karoge .. vo kal kuch naya khoj laayege tumhe judge karne ko. They will find new ways to judge always. So .. My take is - Fuck them all and live with whatever you are ... Believe in yourself .. your experience, learning, your good virtues and make your life and people around better. Forget society and everyone .. You or me owe nothing to them ... not a dime.

Society ko dasna hi dasna hi hai tumko .. tum chahe president of india ban jaao.

@Capedcrusader1 i am in was getting 104 from vision. with AI D rukmabai 2 and 3 minister D judicial review D Biochar and CNT D Biofuel D T bill 3 only. So at most 2 or 3 among these would be wrong rest are fine. and i think Biofuel and T bill are the wrong ones here rest are fine

Vision 104.67

All same except minister which I marked A and which is wrong as per vision.

Didn't attempt biofuel so doesn't matter.

Dost aap karloge. Just don’t call yourself those things... society has a way of making anyone who does not conform, or wants to do things even a slightest bit differently, things like besharam. And if they keep saying it enough they lead you to believe it too, and then conveniently saying things like moti skin absolves them of any responsibility. Moti skin aisa kuch nahi hota. Everybody feels hurt the same way. I’m toh pretty much your standard conformist - the opposite of everything you said - so I am not in much of a position to say something, but still wanted to after reading your comment. All the best to you and take care :) when you finally crack this it’ll be one hell of a story.

Bro...

My father who is class B govt servant  taught me since childhood only 1 thing

,.योग्यता और नैतिकता ही स्थान दिलाती है |

and .. I just followed both. He raised me rational enough .. kepr my mind away from dogmas and even taught me how to fight dogmas. He was a different breed... District topper  and in state merit list of highschool in those days of the 60s when the village dont even have electricity and there are no books to afford. I lived with a living inspiration .. as my father.

So, I am a very awkward kid but .. I believe i have never hurt anybody though.

if you ask doubt to that nice guy in classroom, he will ask to read his bulky book of IR.

Even he force the GS batch to buy his book in very first class, which has no use in GS paper. Highly commercialized and frustrated with Govt and shubhra ranjan.

Even His internal security classes also not much relevant to Mains. Had to prepare by self.

Thank god , there was Iqbal singh sir, who taught mains relevant IR.

I read his book and found that book  gud enough. I mixed his book with my newspaper clippings and vision IR . .  and developed my own IR notes. That worked well for me.
