[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Moderate guessing based on best commercial vaccine dates, infectiousness(lingering possibilities of deaths), political administrative risks, prelims to be from anywhere b/w September-November with reduced mains time of 2.5-3 months.

Just a guess.

The Hindu-Niti Aayog member Mr Paul showed media some analysis estimating that corona cases will end by May 16.

Maybe inspired by this analysis, UPSC will decide on May 20.

Govt and UPSC are optimistic on a whole new level.

@Subramanyam I have experimented with similar sleep issues.
When i want to change my sleep schedule(like shift sleep from day to night) i break sleep- sleep halfway and wake up to get sleep next day on time.
For paper day, try to take everything easy(low stress) in last week
Last day don't study or minimum study, have good food of ur choice ( or sweets) , meditate(helps sleep) . Hope some of it works.

@logan privacy is A (mistypes as C.) child malnutrition B
rest is what i have typed..gone through all in depth
85% - author gives FPO formation, off farm emploment and giving importance to public n pbt investment in last paragraph...but crux is inclusiveness
dam - only before onset of monsoon (eliminates D)

liberalisation - social sector, redefine role of states both given for first part.... second part if D as author is vary of integrating with world economy and skeptical about role of liberalisation in poverty elimination ...

@Aurang_mirasudar  I just highlighted some more part(paradigm shift not relevant)
If author has taken assumptions from entire article( verbatim as seen in all other articles eg- dam safety flood control), then this statement is verbatim given in article too.
Eg- Dam safety- 'flood control underestimated' cannot be thought from para given but paper setter has taken options from rest of the article verbatim.

@Percival Shankar has given answer as T bills only
which should be correct 'if it is issued by'
Vision also quoted same source. Not able to find any other good source.

@rafael Will IBC code definition will apply to household loan also or to only corporate loans.

@Biradar are u reading desher katha
Please give the link

@Biradar There are actually 2 definitions of NFD on internet. One ' debt owed by non financial institutions ' ,other ' debt issued by non financial institutions'.
If we go by 'owed by', T bills have to be eliminated as t bills are mostly owed by financial institutions eg SCB. No one has eliminated t bills.
Other definition 'issued by' gives answer t bills only.

@Biradar It's in bengali
Do u have a translated version

5.9k views

Not trying to impose anything on anybody,

But i second that desh refers to place of origin here ie regionally not composite bharatvarsha.

Desher Katha was in bengali talking majorly about bengal economic explotation, influencing bengalis in swadeshi movement. Though he was born in maharashtra, he was raised in bengal.

Next lines talk about how understanding of nation was inflected by jati and region(place of origin) in different places. But this is not context of 3rd statement.

Deusker used desh to refer to place of origin(region)- in book ie Bengal.

Since Q is directly lifted from here, it could be only logical interpretation

4.5k views
@Carpediem So either maharashtra or bengal

But book is in bengali oriented for bengal region, influencing bengal swadeshi movement and minds.

In the book, context of desh cannot be maharashtra, it could only be bengal.

Tagore was critique of notion of nation as composite Bharatvarsha. He was not critique of Desher Katha

He himself gived importance to his region is his writings.

@Carpediem Idk about his book since it is in bengali and i cannot read it.
But if Q is lifted from Ishita Banerjee, then this is what is inferred IMO.

@chelseaboy I believe examiner didn't read actual Desher Katha. Final answer just depends on Ishita Banerjee only. I want her email ID. She can only be final interpreter of her words.

5.4k views
@rafael Absolutely yes. But nation refers to place of origin(in geographic social linguistic cultural sense) in Deusker's book. Re read previous 3 lines.
Ishita Banerjee Chapter is how concept of nation developed from regional to Bharatvarsha from early struggle to later periods

Only discussing each other's interpretation.

@chelseaboyJust wanted to arrive at a better conclusion.
I will not be discussing further  in these sarcastic terms. Peace.

@rafael Yes i checked flow of para again.
Desh refers to Bharatvarsha by Deusker. Tagore reference is regional.
My bad.

6.2k views
@Navya  I myself lost 2.66 here. But after reading those paras multiple times, it's clear that deusker referred desh(nation) as whole India. But in different regions this understanding of nation was inflected(confused) with local region(eg bengal) and jati (this point is truly not in context of upsc question so not relevant). Tagore was against this nationalism, preferred regionlism.

@raviruhal2016231 I also marked senior citizen. Also googled Nalsa senior citizen scheme.
But has any coaching given it correct. Does it have any hope?

@Equalizer mizoram has general ceiling of 25000 rs

4.1k views
@Equalizer In rest of the states  there is no category listed of transgender,  so merged with general then their celing should also be 1lakh.
How come we arrive at any definitive answer? answer should be only from these 2.
free legal aid is not asked, a user here pointed out that some legal services are provided to all senior citizen like hearing aid with no ceiling.

@Equalizer they have only mentioned general

@Equalizer mizoram only general category given

4.8k views
@Carpediem so answer can only be 1 if delhi is equated with India

4.8k views

Haryana also gives free legal services to all transgender besides all senior citizen.

Assuming in states where separate income limits for transgender and senior citizen not given, they are all given aid with no ceiling.

Then transgender option is correct bez that is maximum ceiling limit in any state.

General ceiling of 1 lac is wrong in mizoram, dadra nagar haveli, lakshadeep but Upsc will not consider these minor variation.

Then 1 & 2 are correct as given in keys. Or Q should be discarded which Upsc won't do likely.

Sorry guys.

I take back whatever I discussed on Deusker.

One should go with what one is able to comprehend from this or one's better conscience.

As last year many majority opinions proved wrong, one should not waste their month bez of 1-2 disputed Q or their discussions here. After all we are all aspirants not professors.

Most probably u are asking to deduce Preamble question.

Article 14,20-28 are also applicable to foreigners if am not wrong.

But SC has permitted reasonable classification under article 14 which saved CAA.

Preamble u already know.
