@vikhcu2073 isko doosri tarah se dekhe to jb gen  category (irrespective of religion) k economically weaker section ka ye haal h to SC, ST aur OBC k sections ka kya hoga kyuki waha to reservation largely hereditary type ho chuka h..... Wahi 4-5% family aur unke hi generations.....

The whole reservation issue is complex, politically motivated(now a days) and debatable..... But one thing is very clear-----

1--- As a poor dalit, obc, tribal student is unable to match a upper caste rich student then he/she is equally unable to compete with a rich person of his/her community too.....

2---Generalisation is anti equality..... Thinking all uper caste people as rich, privileged etc is wrong and considering all SC, ST's as marginalised is also wrong.

I think, a well educated man like equality, progress of nation etc BUT how it will possible if a poor reserved class person remain poor as their own community members eating their share(many candidates got selected in reserved categories for 5/6 posts as they have such level in competitive exams.....

Jis intention k sath reservation policy aayi thi wo fulfill honi chahiye poori.....

@God yes, u r correct....... But the point is that there exists a caste hierarchy in reserved categories too..... There are certain tribes whose members gets nearly 50-60% ST seats in exam like UPSC and there are others who r still living in forests...... It is the difference.....
Second, I don't think that many of the castes under OBC's faces discrimination.... Some are so much influential (empire in past) and have land, political power at their disposal......
What is required is REFORM in the system to give the due to those who still are at lowest rungs....

@God discrimination is still there amoung lower castes....... How to deal with them????  The creamy layer concept that too with₹  4/5 lakh  income annually and not 8-9 lakh should be there for all reserved category.......
Poor is poor and discrimination is there for upper castes poor too(generally by their brethern and less by others).... That's why 10% was given from 50% open seats...... The only so called sufferer here are GENERAL MALE CANDIDATES..... as there is reservation for women, divyang, dependent of freedom fighter etc........

@God yes, u r right......but economic backwardness is a cause for social and educational backwardnesa..... And at present time when CLASS system is spreading its root EW sections are at receiving end.....
At last, all of us know(at least at personal level) that RESERVATION has become a political tool to gain brownie points...... Otherwise castes whose members have ruled in hindi heartland as CM's shouldn't consider as backward till now....... I like to see every needy getting it's share for the progress of our nation.

@Patootie just tell me one thing..... How many children of manual scavengers(lowest strata) have u ever seen in govt Institute and govt jobs at officer level....but whenever reservation debate starts, posters of these manual scavengers are presented by those who r enjoying the cream at their costs.....it hurts the most........ What we want is REFORMS that too with honest intention of upliftment and not political purpose.......

@Thanos_ main thing is that the class of poor and marginalized section of SC, ST, MBC's are not on forum or other such areas..... They are still struggling in hinterland, in urban slums etc..... And there had been  court cases in the past in courts by such poors against rich candidates selected under reserved category....
