Thing us Plassey to partition has touched the topic only cursorily, whereas upsc is demanding in depth knowledge of everything and anything, i wont say that the said book is conclusive about this.

@AureliusM any major difference between shankar and forum key besides rukhmabai?

There's very little variation between standard keys this time;forums, toppers, shankar, baba etc

Guys most of the people who are posting are getting 100+. Can it be inferred that most serious people did well and paper was not that difficult? Or is it that people who getting less are not posting .

I am getting 92-98. And this  is really delicate situation

Haven't you  heard the idom "nothing to write home about". people who are getting 105 have string propensity to mentiin it. The said propensity decreases drasticially when score is around 100, and it's quite afrustrating situation for people around 95. So no "most serious people" aren't getting great marks.

Lots of debate going aroun AI, I knew that ai has written songs and even just a while back ips officer bothra who is quite famous on Twitter had shared an article written completely by AI on Guardian. Still i eliminated options containg "2" because if one has been fan of premchand, chekhov, amitav ghosh etc instead of chetan bhagat et al or  if one listen to the songs written by sahir, gulzar, pradeep etc instead of the ones sung by badshah/honey singh then he would know that "presently" it's not possible for ai to do these things in "meaningful or effective" manner. However, this being highly subjective, ultimately depends upon upsc's discretion.

Yes .
I debated a lot about 5 or 6 question on forum last year. Nobody took me right.
For ex -
1. Ramsar me second statement... I marked that wrong.
2. LA to loksabha .. I marked that right.
and many others.

These two nobody given as right .. no key etc.
and this is not first time. My personal experience is that .. In complex looking statement.. UPSC takes Layman view as answer.
2016 .. Mine from key 102 .. UPSC marksheet 112
2017. 98 by keys .. UPSC 107
2018 .. by keys 102 to 105 .. UPSC. 112(Gave forest as bonus that year).
2019 by keys 96 to 102 .. Marks 110.

Its huge for me always.

Has upsc released 2019 marks?

@azam_imame434 In this paper scoring above 110+ is very tough, it can be either tukka or very strong luck. Last year I scored 114, now this year I am in the zone of 92-100. Many first timer tend to be liberal while counting their core, and actual core are generally 10-15 mark lower than they claim.  I have done it in my first attempt. Even if I have had avoided 2 silly mistake which I did, I couldn't cross 105+, that' a drop of 7-10 marks . And veteran generally do not tend to inflate their score. Cut off won't go beyond 98. It can even fall to 90-92.

This time it is my lowest score. Lastly it was 112, 107 , 112 .  I usually do not do tukka and only sound guessing. Usually have good accuracy and ... use to attempt lesser questions. This it seems .. it backfired. I  am cursing myself now that I could have bubbled 10 more atleast ... kam se kam kuch tukke mere bhi chal hi jaate sayad.

See, you two people are scoring lesser than previous years, still if you are adamant for getting negative thoights, you will only remember those people who are scoring well and not the ones whonare scoring lower. Bhai tukka maarne waale 70s me bhi pahunche hai aur 110-20s me bhi

Tukka se bahut fayda nahi hota hai bro. Tukka Marne walon ne investment in agriculture me bhi all mara hai, same with that conjugate vaccine question, biofuel. A few people can benefit from tukka but tukka cut off badha dega not possible

Agree. Actually that's what i was saying.

@Biradar in that case everyone will get marks who has attempted or no one will get marks ?

It does not matter in the competition in either cases ..  One who has marked correct and added to his marks ll loose big as no more advantage .

I think all those who attempted get marks. That's how it works. Those who skipped don't get marks

I think almost everyone who's scoring above 90 must have got this q right. So this question deletion won't effect much the cut off.

I have doubts in 3-4 questions

1) factors affecting rice price --In my opinion Government trading should not b there as There is no such thing(FCI do not have any profit loss account, MSP is not trading, APEDA is  involved in basmati but  not direct trade but promotion of export etc)

2)non financial debt waala question I have marked Treasury bills only(it purely depends on what UPSC wants to ask so pure luck factor here ,lets see)

3) Growth rate in rural employment has decreased (in my opinion this isn't correct as post liberalization growth in employment has been seen across india(india is still 70-80% rural and without rural job growth overall job growth isn't possible, jobs shifted from agri to non agri)

4) Minister waala question I have marked 1 only though it seems it is wrong

5)There is no minimum no of days parliament is required to meet in a year(All coaching rely on IE article and no other sources) ---Atleast twice in a year itself mean MPs will have to come 2 days???

Completely agreeing with you on rural economy, almost completely on minimum parliament and partially on rice and non financial debt.

Same goes for chemical fertilizers, there is only one fertilizer that is urea which is administered by government, rest others like nitrogen, pottasium, phosphorus and other micro nutrient fertilizers are retail market driven, you can go on Amazon and check there prices vary from retailer to retailer.

Yes i was in great dilemma only because of this, and went fir the wrong option as per the keys, meanwhile people who didn't know that marked the right answer as per keys, it seems the bliss provided by the ignorance is being rewarded by upsc in past few prelims,
