People who were making vids to burn test series didn’t get in, while people who did ngp got in.  Maybe forum can make a vid about it 🌚

Whoever it may be, whatever be their agenda, it still hurts when one doesn’t make it to the list. So the gracious thing to do would be to empathise with them as well without sly remarks on them. 🙃

Hi Forum,

Civil Services Examination 2023 results were declared yesterday. It is an eventful day. After years of toiling hard in a regimented routine, in the end, it comes down to getting ‘1 result found’ against one’s name in the ‘not-so-holy’ pdf! Imagine a moment so brief, so ephemeral, that you could sit down, and all the years you’ve put in could unravel in front of you in barely a few seconds. The what-might-happen scenarios make us so anxious and worn out that we don’t feel like doing anything except waiting for the ‘not-so-holy’ pdf.

In my tryst with the UPSC CSE (4 years long), I had this scary experience a lot of times. Before each result day, I would look at the screen, switching tabs across telegram groups and discussion forums. Your mind starts to race, and you face trouble focusing. To top it all off, a vast network of relatives and so-called friends is waiting to devour you! You’re in a web of relationships that are both supportive and oppressive, sometimes moving from one to the other almost seamlessly. In this background, you’re fighting an internal war yet never wanting to give up. You don’t know what awaits you.

You might be selected for your desired service!

You might be rejected!

You might be selected, but not for your preferred service.

Barring the first case, people remain sad if they happen to fall in other cases, and their fight continues. The ones who get selected enjoy momentary happiness. Still, soon enough, the nostalgia of success disappears swiftly as the narrative moves into an account of a person’s new goal- to be successful again, to be an IAS!

Mark Twain once said,“ The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.”The meaning of life keeps changing from person to person because of emotional, material, and spiritual fluctuations throughout our lives. What was once dear to you may not be as dear now. So, it is essential to not link one’s happiness to a momentary spurt of success in the CSE. I am not here to argue against the merits of writing the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Having appeared in the exam four times already, I’d be a hypocrite if I did that. It is essential to be aspirational and seek glory. That has been the very premise on which human civilization has evolved. But, what is also more important and less emphasised is not losing sight of what we’ve already become. To cut it short, I’m here to remind you that you’re lovely!

You cleared the Prelims against so many odds. You cleared the Mains against so many odds. Remember the day when you gave your first thought to this exam. Today, you made it through what you thought you wouldn’t before. So, you’ll make it through this time, too. One breath at a time!

In the hullabaloo of measuring success from measurable outcomes, we become too harsh on ourselves. We tend to forget the work we have put in to reach where we are. At times, it is equally essential to de-link success with measurable outcomes. It is important to cherish our hard work. That’s how you rejuvenate yourself and get ready, for your internal battle is not yet over! Draw inspiration from none other than yourself.Too many people think the grass is greener somewhere else, but it is green where you water it! So, let’s look backwards, but live forwards!

Yours Truly,

AzadHindFauz

Hello everyone,I've been quietly observing this platform for the past three years, and I'm thrilled to share that I've secured a rank of 392 this time around. I'm deeply grateful to this community, ForumIAS, and Ayush sir for their invaluable support. Enrolling in the MGP course three times has truly enhanced my answers and contributed to my success. Thank you to all the members for your constant support.

Hi Rashmirathi,

I hope you are doing well.

Just wanted to share something. 2023 was my third attempt at the prelims, having failed to qualify in the previous two. I joined the SFG course before SFG 2023.

After failing twice, I was completely demotivated by the prelims in 2023. But then I started taking the SFG 2023 tests. On the third or fourth day, while going through the SFG rank list, I stumbled upon your name. I was happy to find that someone I knew from the forum community, a sincere candidate, was also giving SFG 2023.

After that day, your marks in SFG became benchmark marks for me. Every evening, after checking my marks, I would always check yours to gauge my preparation level. And if I got a few marks more than you, I felt incredibly happy (But it only happened two or three times in the whole SFG course 😃😃).

Your consistency in the SFG course, with above-average scores in almost all the tests, kept me motivated to work hard. I did not skip a single test of both L1 and L2.

And lastly, I cleared the prelims in 2023 for the first time in my third attempt. However, I couldn't qualify for the mains.

Today, in geography test, I thought of checking if you were also appearing this time. And yes, you are.

Your consistency and hard work have inspired me a lot.

May your hard work be acknowledged with a well-deserved rank.

Yessss! Let us start one more time.

I have missed  mains cut off by 4 marks (737). But one good thing which happened with me was that I could correctly predict reason of not qualifying and  worked  upon my essay and optional paper 2 after Dec results itself. Now I'm thoda confident of my essay skill which I was not in my previous mains.

We can do this, let us try again.

@Neyawn Sir would you like to comment on how Forum has uploading toppers copies with dates hidden. How low can you fall for such marketing? You just want to prove by hook or crook that the selected candidate has given MGP before he got selected. It deprives student from actually judging the copy and improving upon it. Can't imagine I would see this from Forum where you always talk about transparency.

Just saw this comment and thread today. I think we have hired some people from coaching background who are trying to help forum.@farejul can you look into this and correct it?

It is a needless task if someone is doing it to help forum! That is not the kind of help forum needs!

I apologize to all members for the inconvenience caused. I am responsible for this. I have not instructed anybody to remove the date. I will personally review each copy to ensure that the original dates are reinstated. Additionally, I will make an effort to ensure that the copies closest to the exam date are made available.

@Patience 99 bhai,

i was part of the direct guidance. but the way he keeps saying - ye koi nahi batayega, no one will tell yu this... these things were creating a lot of fomo..

also bhai, i have been with forum for sometime with awfg, sfg - when u r supporting his baseless allegation, and justifying his guidance,, u are comparing apple with orange, as he dsnt chk yur copy , bt gives guidance... that anyway aman sir in forum is giving.. so whn satyam jain is saying no evaluator will tell bcz he dsnt know -- he is wrng.. it isnt posble for evalutor to do wrk of mentor... he is giving oral gyan and saying no evaluator will "write"... wht non-sense.. IMO he is the biggest creator of fomo than most coachings he is targetting... jst to set his post upsc career..

People who were making vids to burn test series didn’t get in, while people who did ngp got in.  Maybe forum can make a vid about it 🌚

I participated in Satyam Jain's guidance program. I do not know why there's hatred against him. I found his insights into the flaws of coaching institute evaluation systems valuable. After all, these flaws are widely acknowledged.

Following Forum's program (SFG) in 2022 and 2023, combined with rigorous analysis of previous years' question papers (PYQs), my General Studies (GS) score jumped from 48 in 2021 to 96 in 2022.

However, in 2022, I joined another program (MGP). After the initial tests, I found the evaluator's remarks less helpful. So, I developed my own strategy: taking MGP tests weekly and then double-evaluating them later to identify knowledge gaps.

Therefore, DM bhai), it's not wrong to bring these issues to light.

Additionally, after pre-2023, Satyam Jain's direct guidance, along with support from other experienced mentors on his platform, significantly improved my performance, especially in Ethics and GS-1.

My point is, forming an opinion without firsthand experience can be misleading.
