Reviewing mistakes of 2024 prelims

How to review one's mistakes in prelims?

This was my 2nd attempt and I'm missing the cutoff by a few marks. Can anyone tell me the parameters of how one should analyze their performance?

Please feel free to write down your mistakes (no judgment). It might help me as well.

Thanks!

analysis of pitfalls:

1. subject wise : hisotry, geography...

2. topic wise : monsoon, parliament, bio technology...

3. nature of question wise : if the question wasfactual (money bill)/conceptualappliedor a Jai Sri Ram/Hail mary.

possilbe way forward :

1. fatual : make fact sheets/ bookmark pages that need to be revised just before the day of exam.

2. conceptual :solvea number of question->revise (class notes/books)->repeat.

3. apllied : analyse PYQs find out how they are playing with words.

4. Hail mary : quanitify the accuracy of yourfast thinking i.e. how manyTUKKAs you are getting correct. (need to solve a number of questions) :then take a call if(and how many) tukkas you cansafely-risk (what an oxymoron :D)

conclusion:

only revising materials wont help, (only solving question wont help either.)

you have topin point what 'YOU' need to revise and read.some portions may need anoverhaul (dont shy away).

A general rule of thumb is (5000 questions) + (no of failed attempts x 1000)

ALL THE BEST
