@Aka227 45 should be a good attempt and marks anywhere between 70-80 is decent one. However, one should only attempt the questions which are either 100% sure or 50:50. It's better if u don't attempt the question u know nothing about.

PS: This is what i feel!!!

Answer key aaj k test ka dekh k to aaj aisa laga maano humne kuch padha hi nhi h, Polity ka kuch aata hi nhi h apne ko. Itne kamaal k interpretations draw kiye h, SALUTE. Agr UPSC ne bhi aise interpretations chaalu kr diye, to ho gye barbad sab k sab.

Utterly disappointed!!!!

@Caterpillar01 Two Questions... Q.1 & Q.3

Q.1- it was directly taken from CSE 2021 prelims. I agree that UPSC took second statement as wrong that High court doesn't have REVIEW power but there have been various judgments in which it is clearly stated that High court has a Reviewing power. Just because UPSC took one interpretation that doesn't mean that it has to be right everytime. It was a very very Controversial Question.
(PS: This question got me & my Friend out of Mains List)

Q.3 has fourth statement, WRIT cannot be implemented by lower judiciary. Well the statement clearly writes "CAN" meaning a Possibility. So in future if  parliament by law gives this right to a lower court then it can implement and it will have the authority to implement. Therefore there is always a Possibility.
But the statement didn't mention "AT PRESENT /RIGHT NOW" hence considering it wrong altogether isn't Logical i feel. Even the  explanation says that At Present, parliament hasn't done anything in this respect. Also nowhere it's mentioned that NEVER LOWER JUDICIARY CAN ISSUE WRITS(it depends on PARLIAMENT).

Therefore, I have 2 Submissions:
- Do not give CONTROVERSIAL QUESTIONS in SFG.
- If wider interpretation is being promoted than make it for all & if narrow interpretation is being looked for, again make it for all these types of Question.

What is happening rn is I am unable to decide if I have to look for bigger picture or stay limited to the given Text(for Example Fundamental Duties wala Question where SECULARISM was included and I marked it wrong because of Narrow Interpretation).

I AM REALLY CONFUSED WHAT TO LOOK FOR.

can somebody tell me... 42nd Amendment Act added 5 subjects to concurrent list. They were

1. Weights and Measurements(ENTRY 33A)

2. Administration of Justice(ENTRY 11A)

3. Forest(ENTRY 17A)

4. Protection of Wildlife and Birds(ENTRY 17B)

5. EDUCATION.(ENTRY 25)

But at the same time when I was going through them, I saw POPULATION CONTROL and FAMILY PLANNING was added too by 42nd Amendment Act. It has been mentioned nowhere that it was added from STATE LIST. Its ENTRY 20A. Can somebody clarify if 20A was added too from State List???? Why its 20A and Education 25(without A, as it was also added)

@IamWarrior I think u didn't understand my Question bruhh... I am not asking if it was added or transferred. I am specifically asking about ENTRY 20A- Population control and Family Planning and ENTRY 25-Education. Everywhere it's written that 5 Subjects were transferred from STATE List to CONCURRENT List by 42nd Amendment Act, but if ENTRY 25 was transferred from STATE to CONCURRENT, why its not 25A and if Population Control was transferred then why its nowhere been mentioned?

@AtLightspeed On a serious note.... do not take the solutions of SFG tests to be 1000% correct. Take it with a pinch of salt. I had the same doubt, also, I have been getting disappointed by the answer key and the interpretations offered in Answer key. Now I simply don’t care about my marks or my Rank or the answer explanation for that matter. Read LAXMIKANTH, keep things which are doubtful in loop and note things down. Give priority to LAXMIKANT 1st and if there’s nothing available there, try to google about it and even if again u find nothing, go with SFG Explanation.

Thank You

@Antihero It depends... if u cover NCERT, then 4-5 hours.. and if u go by standard book(if referring any) then, 2-3 hours but if u go by ur notes(if made for earlier attempts) then hardly an hour.

@Antihero What I feel... concepts should be primary target. Once, u understand the concept, other things start to get relatable. I can understand what u mean by going line to line, actually this takes a lot of time and u might find every line as important. I think one should always have Prelims PYQs when reading the NCERT/Standard Book. It gives a fair idea as if what is important and what is not. Using PYQs while reading will take down time substantially. Try it, it helped me, hope u find it useful too.

Initially I felt as if m the only one who is having issues with Answers and Explnations with SFG, but now when other people are pointing out, it is an indication for the team making Question Paper and Solutions to up their game. This time I am very much disappointed by the Explanations and interpretations. Hope coming tests will be better!!!

@Aditya_Mishra As I said... Explanations of SFG are outright Amazing and it has no relation with real facts or credible information. Everywhere 1st vernacular newspaper given is SAMACHAR DARPAN by Serampore Missionary but according FORUM IAS SFG Explanation, its KESARI... As I have mentioned earlier too, search on google, try to match it with NCERT or SPECTRUM, when no answer is available, go for SFG Explanation in the last

@Aditya_Mishra Agreed, they denied GoI Act 1935, but GoI Act 1919 was even more controversial and more disagreement was there. So, GoI Act 1935 is what Wavell Plan suggested. Logically too, GoI Act 1919 is very old compared to GoI Act 1935. So, u should ignore GoI Act 1919.
