Ah the Interview kids.

I am of the opinion that your interview / personality test is something that is very likely to start without much prior notice. Maybe a week.

So for the interview, keep reading two newspapers.

Between Prelims and Mains, I would clearly say decide to focus for fifteen days on one and work on it.

Don't prepare for both prelims and mains ( and interview ) . You lose focus , you achieve nothing,  and at the end of the day you will make little progress.

You can choose to study for for prelims for like 15 days without getting into Mains. Or vice versa. But don't pick up too many things. In the end try to finish something or close something. It's not focus if you are doing too many things. In trying to do too many things you end up doing nothing.

thus the message is clear-

if one has doubt regarding clearing prelims.... be a monomaniac for it until you are sure of clearing it.....one thing at a time

@Neyawn Sir I am getting 100-120 in forum stimulator and vajiram Test (full length )should I focus on mains a bit sir? What should me way forward I am really clueless sir.

Take up a block of 15-20 days and finish off something. That is a good score as long as it is an honest score.

On a lighter note, if someone who has no idea of Civils preparation and visits this forum, this article or this thread - he will be discouraged to see the stuff people have to go through !

@Neyawn helpful article. Thanks

But some people are confused about whether they are in category 1 or category 2 (according to the article)

If they have got average of above rank 40 in SFG and cleared cutoff in 3 simulator and missed in other 3 by some margin. Which category they should count themselves 1 or 2 ? (Or listen to their antar atma )

You are in strike range. You may divest some energy for Mains Preparation. But don't do all 4 papers. Try to pick up one or two papers and focus on them. Not try to do everything.

At some point, you will have to take a decision and stick to that decision. And focus energies on that to the point that the decision works.

@Neyawn Thanks for your advice. A light in the darkness.

So then moving ahead with a strategy of 70:30 (70 % time to Prelims  and 30% time to mains.) But only after simulators are over.

Sir/ma'am how would I know I fall in 1st 2nd or 3rd catagory

Acc to My prelims test series stat I consistently fall in 90-105 range irrespective of the platform (vision , forum, insights etc)

With this level of performance which catagory would I be in

Q1) Have you cleared Prelims before ?

Q2) This is your which attempt at Civils?
