Scrolling through over here I saw a discssion thread for every year but didn't find one for the next year.
So, this thread is dedicated to the discssions regarding CSE 2024. Anyone planning to appear for the exam next year can join the discussion.
Looking at the level of paper and kind of questions asked this year, I believe we are going to need a lot of support from each other. Hopefully this thread will grow and help a lot of aspirants, both old and new.
We can do it.

Socio chap 9 last 3 pages (sick of this chapter)
Socio chap 10
Newspaper (22/11 and 23/11)
Studied around 6.5 hrs yesterday, out of which i spent around 5 hours completing a 3 hr lecture in an attempt to make the 'perfect' notes loaded with facts only to realize the futility of this exercise, finally i've realised that its better to have above average content with decent value addn than having perfect but incomplete content.
Can anyone give some insights on Upendra Gaur Sir's sociology course??? (Better alternative suggestions are welcome)
I was his student in 2021, you can rely on him for paper 1, his paper 1 notes are brilliant for concept building, the coverage is good too. Also, you have to be very fast when he is explaining a concept, he doesn't dictate notes, you have to note down whatever he narrates in class.
Paper 2, I haven't revised his notes but the Market sentiment is that his paper 2 coverage/content is sub par.
What did you guys think of the SFG entrance test?
ehh, made me realise how much i need to revise, although some sections like polity, economy, 2-3 questions from history remained my go-to subjects(just like everyone else), however csat math was scary. IMO, people scoring around 56 +/-2 should be in the top 100, because last year people who scored above 57/58 were in the top 50 (Correct me if i'm wrong), however, these are unnecessary speculations, what's important is that, for me the test was a good eyeopener and gave me a good reality check ki abhi bhot mehnat lagegi.. :)
@dravidpujara aaj to match dekhna Banta hai :)
Bhai. Tabse sad hi hu
What resources you are following for sociology?I am new to this optional, need a little guidance regarding booklist etc.
Paper 1
Upendra Gaur sir's notes for thinkers
Sleepy Classes YT free lectures for topic 7 + Missing topics from nitin sangwan (bureaucracy, new social movements)
Nitin Sangwan for Chapter 1,2,3,5,6,8 and 9
Chapter 10 - combined nitin sangwan and Upendra sir's notes
Paper 2
Sunya IAS Paper 2 notes (the book looks extensive and i will rely entirely on these for paper 2)
One must note that no source is ever enough for paper 2, a large portion overlaps with your GS 1 society, you have to sprinkle in some thinkers and theories to differentiate it from a GS answer.
In addition to this, Sociology related CA, value additions from test series and solving PYQs will help you cover your syllabus decently.
