Too tensed to check any other key
As CSAT is also borderline: hoping some comprehensions to go my way
got some stupid q wrong in Paper 1
Guess should've attempted some time controlled mocks
And more importantly , the q I got wrong were because of hurry or excitement maybe
certainly not because my concepts failed
feels stupid but I'll list them here
1: Money/finance bill question>clear concept, remember reading money bill in place of finance bill in the first option; don't know why, probable reason>too excited to see easy question
2: geo ka specific heat wala question. knew the answer ticked the wrong statement>both statements were right and followed each other but ticked the other one
3. Missiles question: knew the answer >probably hurry or again excitement
these are the ones i found when checking the insights key
prob there are more
yeah, sad
will analyze in more detail once the result comes out
was my first attempt
gave it everything
some lessons for next attempt
honestly was very happy after giving the 1st paper
next 6 months answer writing ; mains and optional
@jogdand Finally..! Someone with a real understanding of Gyroscopes. I did apply the same logic & marked only 2. But all answer keys are saying otherwise.
yeah
applied same logic
but read somewhere that apple used accelerometer in rotation stuff
so u never know
Regarding the accelerometer question:
1) Theoretically, A gyroscope is sufficient to cause the rotation of the screen of our phones. A gyroscope measures angular velocity.
2) But, with just a gyroscope, we cannot determine how quickly do we need to switch the screen. We also need to measure acceleration for that. To have that flawless rotation of our screen, we need both a gyro and an accelerometer.
3) Most embedded processors have both gyro+accelerometer working together, like gone are the days when we used to use gyro alone. All of our smartphones in today times, come with both gyro+accelerometer together.
So, for us to perfectly make the screen rotate on our smart phones, we need both gyro+accelerometer. So, the answer will be "All three".
The question is very contentious but going by logic Only, one statement is very different than the other 2 statements. To genuinely mark all 3, one would require specialized knowledge, in UPSCs terms.
logic wale hi marenge sare
those who marked s/tech all true probably fared better lol

Nah. I think UPSC has reversed the trend since 2020 when all of the above was not the correct option in science and tech application based questions. I am pretty sure for HFC, Mercury and this one, not all statements are correct.
hope so; but then these have to be classified as extremely diff q
@DrKingSchultz100 Bhai, it should be A. Also, as per classnotes of Vajiram, SC in Maneka Gandhi case held that, it will apply the Principle of Natural Justice and if law is arbitrary and oppressive, it will declare the law as invalid. It said that Article 21 inherently includes the principle of natural justice and thus it succeeded in reading due process of law under Article 21.
ANSWERED it on the same logic of MENAKA GANDHI
Fair applications sound too limiting
Bas yahi bolna chathaa hun ki mai wahi tha jo 2021 ke Pre mei Indus River System wale question par option D satluj bol raha tha...par baaki sab mujhe DM mei nayi nayi cheez bata rahe theay.
Natural justice is a british Concept while Fairness and DPOL is American. Also one thing i have learnt in this Upsc journey is that if you cant find your option directly linked to your question on Google, you cant say that its right.
if you simply google, you will find that Fairness word is associated too many times with Dopl. Show me a link where it is associated with Natural justice.
Yeah jin bhaisahab ney screenshot dala haina MANEKA gandhi wala, usme zara Fairness word bhi check karlein...kitni baar diya hua hai...
Have ticked Natural Justice
counting it as wrong as per insights
but
Fairness is fine but it says fair application of law
I asked myself the same q in exam that what if the law is unfair?
wasn't that what the issue was in Menaka Gandhi case?
That the law has to be fair
And what is the vision ans key on this one?
@quasiwin prelims 2022 ka key nahi aaya na?I don't know why but i have a feeling ki upsc wants to stop this procedure of giving answer key from now...
What is even the use now? what stupid policy from students perspective
apna hi dekh rhe hain ye log
2022 in my opinion was a lil bit easier as compared to 21
this one was bonkers
@Tejasjv unable to upload screenshot:https://refugeesmigrants.un.org/migration-compactRead this: (from official website)Global Compact
The Global Compact for Migration is the first-ever UN global agreement on a common approach to international migration in all its dimensions. The global compact is non-legally binding. It is grounded in values of state sovereignty, responsibility-sharing, non-discrimination, and human rights, and recognizes that a cooperative approach is needed to optimize the overall benefits of migration, while addressing its risks and challenges for individuals and communities in countries of origin, transit and destination.
The global compact comprises 23 objectives for better managing migration at local, national, regional and global levels. The compact:
only talks about management of int migration at diff levels
ticked wrong myself
What was the number of applicants in the cleared-csat category last year? Can anyone help here?
maybe no one knows
as no one really cared as much
this year they went extreme with it
only 17% clearing csat if this 84000 is true
if avg 5 lakh ppl write pre (prob more)
might have significant effect on cutoffs
@Tejasjv but the comment section, someone asked if the results can come tmrw and he said maybe ab yeh kya.
could be anything
but the csat difficulty must have created difficulty for categories where less ppl appear like ews st sc
OBC UR still enough ppl will clear csat
and they might also consider not letting the gs cutoff fall too much
but all speculation
and we'll never really know
zara socho.....
If the cutoff of SC ST category is falling too low........and UPSC decides ki UR me hum 1:12 le lenge.... par SC me 1:10....ye tho discrimination ho gaya na.....
Decisions like this get stuck in legitimate legal troubles...No?If the ratio is constant.....last year se zyada log pre qualify honi chahiye.......If they decrease the ratio overall .., then the gap between UR and SC cutoffs will be the same.
My point is simple...Ye 'insider sources' are doing bullshit using all the frenzy of aspirants. Attention tumhara......revenue unka.
Ratio will be same
they can't change that ofcourse
all I'm saying is that given the difficulty level of csat and the cutoff might be disproportionally lower for these categories
given the gross no of people in these categories being less and well prepared people affected due to csat
just speculation
The ratio of no of ppl selected for mains per seat in diff categories will ofcourse be same
@Ri2raj let's see, I'm still skeptical about this robot guy. If true then yes anyone with 80+ (after assuming all disputed wrong) or 90+ with coaching keys is in.
THE thing is
Its very easy for someone with 85+ from coaching keys to end up on the wrong side
and someone with 80 to get 95
ANswer key cuts both ways
so -10/ +5 might be a good range to expect
And hoping to be on the good side of csat
I wanted to ask those who have cleared this prelims. I can clearly see that attempting on the higher side has worked for many. Do you agree that our attempts should be on higher side given the increased subjectivity in the questions ? Has someone with conservative attempt (Less than 80) cleared here ?
Kindly share your experience if possible

Score-88 (checked from insights only)
Have had the feeling since last 10 days that more attempts might have worked even better
Couldn't attempt the paper properly due to almost no experience of time controlled mocks
which was probably very imp due to this year surprise paper
1-50>34 attempted (should've attempted more here probably)
50-100>38 attempted
had heard some bad stories about this last minute attempt wala stuff
so calmed my nerves and let the paper go
