Civil Services Mains 2020 Results: In or Out ? Way ahead, gratitude and Pain
The Civils Mains result has been declared. This thread is for sharing your grief , joy , mixed feelings - absolutely anything and everything.
We should not doubt people for nothing, specially when somebody is trying to think in larger community intrest.
I am saying this because last year also there was a guy called Krantikari and he was predicting things. People were mocking him, but his predictions were spot on! After that the same people were congratulating him also. I didn't say anything, but I felt bad for that guy.
Shouldnt it be the other way round though on social media? as a thumb rule one shouldnt trust an anonymous handle for nothing. Just saying. Ofcourse mocking isnt appropriate either.

I too felt his info on both counts appears to be a mix of fact and fiction. Its upto us to believe it or discard it as bs. Though i agreed with the logic, the meeting thing seemed bs. Let ppl believe what they want to.

1.5year ke gap ke baad pdna bda muskil lag rha. kitaabon ko dekh ke nausea ho jata, whi ghisi piti underline, highlihted,double highlighted, loose binding, fading color....uff kitna depressing hai ye books...ye notes, upsc, zorona, sab kuch
padayi toh hogi nhi to socha seedhe test likhte hain, website par gye 30k price dekha or socha pyq hi dekh lenge , in tests me se kuch aata to hai nhi upsc mai...or wis wishful thinking ke sath din bhar neend li
My mind is 100% sure that UPSC will be postponed as well as UPPCS. But, my heart cannot be brave enough to push me to start my optional. Maybe it is a genuine fear of what if or it is just my procrastination disguising itself as a cautious approach. As a result, I am doing what I do best,looking busy doing nothing.

I said this because I am presuming that this forum is not the same as the other social media portals which you are talking about. People here are comparatively matured and hence I would believe them on face value 'here only'. If you want to compare donkeys with horses I don't want to say anything on that.
Personally speaking, I don't believe in any insider info. Wheather its this guy or that kaptan which everybody talks about.But still I will appreciate them for what they are doing because
1- They are not getting anything in return by doing all this.
2- They are doing it at considerable risk.
3- It is helping a lot of people here to reduce their anxiety ( to some extent).
And also nobody is forcing anyone to beleive anything. Choice to beleive is a virtue, we all should exercise it.
My comments on insiders was intended to be in larger community intrest. If anyone in person has felt otherwise, I am sorry.

I found it to be a shameless, anxiety inducing, very far from reality, long-form advertising of why coachings are essential to qualify this examination, peppered with a wholly unrealistic image of what one can expect after qualifying this examination.

But there is anxiety I feel, esp. for those from the Hindi heartland. This exam overwhelmingly becomes part of your existence once you start preparing for it. People can't imagine their life without it. And this feeling grows strong as attempts pass by.

I agree with you, bhai. I was very reluctant to watch it since I've never lived in ORN. I ended up watching the first episode recently and the way the show has played with that very real, very deep anxiety is what I consider "shameless". It constantly tries to browbeat the viewer into believing that there's only one path to nirvana (how a selection is portrayed), and that passes through coachings.
It left a very bad taste in my mouth, hence the general dislike for the show.
Ab Interview par se focus hat kar saanso par aa gaya hai, situation hi kuch aisi hai. But waapis koshish karte hai groove me aane ki. 😅

That PYQ book (wizard strategist) suggested by neyawn is not available on Amazon or flipkart. Is there any other alternative where PYQs are categorised topicwise?
You can check out La Excellence compilations. It's available on their telegram channel.
They're categorised into subtopics much better than the Wizard strategist book. Only advantage the Wizard book has is that the answers are on the same page.

La Excellence’s PYQ booklets are worth considering. Not only they have section wise previous questions of all subjects(separate compilation for every subject) but their solutions are holistic too wherein they have not just provided the reason\s that why the correct option is correct but why other 3 options aren’t correct, so I find them very useful.
IMO, Drishti one isn’t too reliable because many wrong options are given as answers which makes reading them time consuming because you know the solution option is wrong then you have to google the official key. La excellence one too has errors but lesser when compared to Drishti one.
You can get the booklets on several Telegram channels which circulate preparation material. If you are interested and aren’t able to find it, share with me your TG ID or Mail ID, I’ll share it with you.
