CSE 2021: Plan / Strategy / Daily Routine

Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.

This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.

No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Moderator Update: This thread has crossed 1 million views and has thousands of comments slowing down the website. We are closing this and moving to the next thread

Good morning friends! Targets for 06/07:

1. News

2. Ankification

3. Optional subunits 1-7

Thank you@The Mechanic (I hope you have a great week too) and@whatonly (so happy to be back)!

Terrible day. I honestly don't know what went wrong. It was going so well, and then I just started watching a new series because I needed a short break after lunch and just couldn't stop watching after that. This can't keep happening. I clearly don't have enough self control so I can't go watching tv shows or movies in my breaks or on my break days anymore. Did only two optional subunits. Same targets rolling over to tomorrow.

If everyone's talking about malayali, can be just talk a bit about their food. Not want to disturb the momentum of thread but all the malayali's out there on this platform@LetsGetThisBread and patootie, I love the food from your part of world. I can't tell how much, but if I have to describes , I would say I have reached to a point where I want to marry ONLY a malayali guy!

My tryst with kerala cuisine started with sadhya from times of onam. I fell absolutely in love with that. And now, I have made my north indian kitchen into a south indian kitchen, with my mother being forced to cook all the recipes I see online.

I just love your food andddd the smell of your houses which is extremely different(visited a friends house, I don't know what was that but kya khusbhu thi) . I wish kerala hi cadre mile.

A big big time foodie signing off!

Wow! That's the first time I'm seeing a non- Malayali acknowledge Kerala food. Usually people just club all of South India together. Thank you for distinguishing!!

If you are in Delhi, there are Malayali restaurants in almost every part of the city. You can have your heart's fill here.

As for food, Onam Sadhya is a different level. For people not aware, a small-sized sadhya contains rice and 20+ side dishes (all vegetarian). Some of the famous ones (like at Christ University Bangalore) have 200+ dishes. IN ONE MEAL! That always blows my mind!

My favourite dish though is Malabar Porotta. It's like paratha but not quite a paratha. You can have it with any curry (veg korma, sambhar or usually a non-vegetarian dish). As I sit typing this, my mind is drooling :P

I'm pretty sure my dreams are gonna be about food now. Or a nightmare of a giant Porotta monster attacking me :P

Are you from Kerala? I don't live in delhi, but I live in South, 200 km from kerala. SO would visit the heaven itself for food.

Mine is aviyal anytime!

My parents are from Kerala, although I've spent my entire life in Delhi (except for the occasional visits). You're about 3000km closer to Kerala than I am. :P

Avial is also the name of one of my favourite bands.  :D

@Celeborn Does Christ university organise food fest or wht?I missed it😒Btw we r hijacking grp main purpose 🙃

This happened a couple of years ago on Onam when my friends were studying there. They shared photos and videos. That's how I came to know. I'm guessing either some department or some student's society organised it. Btw, you studied there?

Most of the targets for the day are done ( except GS-3-topic -8 )  would try to do it tomorrow early in the morning

@LetsGetThisBread its like “Gajar ka halwa” of north India

@ozymandias  hope you find them interesting

Good night comrades have sweet dreams- signing off for today

I can't think of anything like that right now. Is it some form of Payasam or something? Although that's quite unlikely.

Comrades- Have a great day

Coconut is a very elusive description, given that our very blood is made out of coconut oil. :)

My nickname was/is Coconut among certain friends - because every food item I brought in my tiffin had coconut in it :P

Hey friend, don’t beat yourself up over this minor slip up. Tomorrow (which is today) will be even better. I also watch videos during my short breaks, but I make sure that they aren’t series/movies, those are reserved for my longer evening breaks. I tend to earmark YouTube videos in the morning before I sit to study itself, no longer than 15 minutes at max to give myself a short break in between sessions. It has helped to bring down my binge-ability a lot.

Having said that maybe your “slip up” was your brain trying to tell you it needed a rest, treat it as such and forge on. Get this bread, you got it!

It’s a brand new morning, there’s a new packet of bread at home, coincidence? I think not. Targets for 7.7.21:

GS- security notes

Sept 2020 C/A revision

Daily C/A

CSAT

Write with left and right hand

That’s all for the day folks.

P.S people who have/had short hair, how do you look halfway decent? I have no clue what to do with my hair, it is just growing up like a jungli child. I look like Virat Kohli from his early cricketing days, minus the cricketing skills. The only cricket I know lives behind my bookshelf.

My mother absolutely forbids “aajkal ke boys wala haircut” but I see this shall be inspiration for my renewed attempts at supplication. Also I like how you are realistic about what I should expect at the end XD

Assuming that you want to grow your hair lengthy again, putting forward some effective tips for growth which I have tried and would suggest you to try as well:-

  1. Go to barber for a hair trim every month. This will prevent the growth of hair in a haphazard manner and will let your hair grow in a organised way. Trimming hair at regular intervals let the hair grow faster as it removes the split ends which make hair look messier. Here, just make sure that you get the trimming done by the same barber only or else every time you change your barber, you might end up having a new/different hairstyle.
  2. Try oiling your hair and scalp as much as possible. Suggested time would be the time just before going to bed for sleep. Do a good amount of champi(circular motions) so that your scalp soaks the oil well. Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner when you wake up. One good thing about short hair is that usage of shampoo would be minimal as shampoo too damages hair to an extent. You can do this on a daily basis or 3-4 times a week.
  3. You can try applying some natural extracts like onion juice or paste of fenugreek seeds(methi dana), phuck mama earth and other beauty products. You can grate some onions, squeeze out its juice, massage your scalp and hair with the juice, let it dry for a few hours then wash it away with shampoo and conditioner. You can also soak some fenugreek seeds in water for a night, drain out that water, put it in a spray bottle, and sprinkle/apply it on your hair on a daily basis. The remaining soaked methidanas can be grinded in a mixer, turned into a paste and applied as hair mask. These natural ingredients will do no harm to your hair and will also help in your hair growth. Though onion juice would smell real bad, but it actually is good for hair.

For looks you can’t do much about it. What you can do is you can start wearing a cap. That would be a good thing to do as I also wear a 🧢 as currently I am also keeping short hair. I do look good in short hair though I don’t like keeping short hair but have to in summers, thanks to global warming eh!

Try doing the above mentioned things and I’m sure within next 6 to 8 months your hair will be long enough to sport a pony tail or even a bun. In my case, this time period is enough to transit from short hair to medium length hair, hair growing long enough to make a pony tail( like the one SRK has in the movie Happy New Year, barring the blonde streak).

P.S- I ain’t no Jawed Habib or any such hair specialist. All this is coming from a dude who likes to keep long hair. Cheers!

Was able to finish all targets except CA magazine. I slacked off and wasted time somewhere else late into the night. Need to minimise the rollover damage today and finish all the targets! With Calculus, maths has taken me back to JEE prep days where time flew by while we studied the subject. Hope this trend continues!

@THE_MECHANIC Thanks for your kind words, all the best to you too :D

Saving this for later. My mother regrets me shaving my head and she will try absolutely anything to make my hair grow out again. Thanks for this
