Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.
This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.
No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

What are you people referring for environment. Shankar is standard I believe , but seeing many people talk about other sources . So just wanted to confirm
I'm using Forum Red Book + Current Affairs magazine. In previous attempts I relied on my class notes + current affairs compilation. I was able to answer most questions (since majority were CA related).
Shankar is still the most popular choice. If you've already done it, stick to it + do CA religiously. You'll be safe. Otherwise you can pick any standard source anyone is mentioning.
Targets for Day 13(8th August 2021)
Till 10:30- Complete Locke
Rest of Day- CA Notes Backlog(Little have I realised that it is 5-6 days of backlog already. Hopefully will be able to complete)
Need a good deal of quantified hours to complete these targets. Since there won't be any distractions tomorrow(Olympics are over), hopefully I will be able to do good.
Good Night doston!
@sjerngal Don't be hard on your own self. Stay put. Everything will be fine.

Thanks. Guess i'll stick to Shankar
Going to restart after 3-4 bad days. Going to start small but really need to buckle up now. The good thing about this thread is that it makes you realise quickly when you aren't doing enough.
Targets: 7-8 hours
- SFG Revision - 4 tests
- Vision CA May (1/2)
- Statics & Dynamics PYQs
Only managed to finish the SFG revision and did a little bit of CA. Not going to go into why I couldn't do the rest, but going to finish everything today err tomorrow.
Targets: 8 hours
- SFG Revision (Polity) - 4 Tests
- Vision CA May (1/2)
- Statics & Dynamics PYQs
- Budget & ES Revision
I was so sure I'll be super focused today but a white swan event happened and the rest is history. Did manage to study well until we won the Gold. Tests done, Budget Revision done. Another light day tomorrow and then with Monday we begin our own olympics!
Targets: 7-8 Hours
- SFG Revision (Polity Finish) - 3 Tests
- Finish Vision CA May (2/2)
- Formulate the prelims plan, enough procrastination.
Good morning guys, I realised that I forgot to update last night, but didn’t manage to do much because I had to go out in a rather unplanned manner. Spontaneous trips outside for unavoidable work are a thing of the past now. So I just managed to finish ancient india and Sept C/A. But I’m glad for the one sow day, which allowed me to rest and catch up on sleep :)
Targets for 8.8.21:
Medieval India morning slot
Indian geography
October 2020 C/A
PSIR- slot
CSAT
Daily C/A
That’s it for the day folks!
@sjerngal there are people who’ve said it much better than me here but really its not worth focusing on things like age and commensurate achievements. Some people achieve a lot “physically” by the age of 25 but others aren’t “seen” to be doing much, it doesn’t mean that we aren’t growing. A lot of our growth and evolution is happening internally, so just because we cant see it now against a measurable standard doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. A coconut when it floats in the ocean grows the new sapling inside it till the time it reaches the land. The moment it reaches a shore the shell splits open and there’s a baby tree inside it. Till then the coconut shell keeps it protected from the salt water and other dangers. We are like coconuts, even though it feels like we’re floating endlessly, we are still growing and changing. We are tough and able to weather storms, my friend :)
Good morning Comrades
Could not update yesterday bcz nothing was done ( and for good)
08/08/21-Targets for the day
Newspaper and complete yesterday’s target
A small request for all the lovely people here -plz don’t forget these athletes as olympics is over ,plz watch them in other competitions also and support other sports other than cricket and I ensure you that you will develop a connection with them and when they will compete you will feel that you are competing
Now is the time to shift full attention towards Prelims
Beautifully put @LetsGetThisBread

You said it best. That’s such a great analogy.
I love coconuts, and I guess I’d love to be a coconut too. 🙃

I’m waiting for the final stage in evolution…. Where we all realise that coconuts are superior and become one ourselves
@The Mechanic take care buddy, I was wondering where you went

And@sjerngal Sorry. I wasn't too serious at that time to offer you some advice and gave a little off-track and chilled Sindhu example. I read it in a light manner. I now understand the gravity of the issue.
I hope you're feeling good. And a little rant is good when you have so many to offer you ears and advices.
Sometimes I do think what we have achieved in life, but our journey is very different. We all are growing whether its intellectually, emotionally or in any other manner. We are riding in a bus whose fate we don't know and we can't predict. We are just the passengers , the drivers are many, many things. All things which we don't and we can't control are the drivers - be it our mental state , our evaluators, the question paper or anyone. Still we are holding our breath and just moving with the steering in control of the unknown drivers. This requires immense strength and patience.
Once we emerge our victorious or even don't we will see a lot of change in us. This journey would surely make us more compassionate, perseverant and calm. This journey would change us for the better.
And never think we are not doing anything. We are devoting 8-12 hrs of the 16 hrs we have with our books, sitting at a place, which requires so so much of patience.
I hope you do well.
