Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.
This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.
No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Hello friends the past 3-4 days have been bad to say the least. I’ve been feeling extremely unmotivated and have barely been able to even clock my hours on YPT. I don’t know why I’m struggling, but I know it cannot go on like this. So I will self reflect a bit and hopefully find some sort of solution. I’m not keeping any targets today but I’ll let you know what I managed to finish by the end of the day.
So I managed to do one test of 8 questions, study for it, do daily C/A, and do 3 topics of economy… which is 4 more things than I did in the past few days. I did think about why I’ve been so unmotivated, turns out I’m just tired and lazy… and this is unfortunately the rebellion against getting back in the groove… much like that part of you that just wants to stay in the warm blankets and not get out, even though you know you have a shit load of work to do, the irresponsible side that just wants to say “screw it”. Well, turns out sometimes you’ve got to be the bad cop to yourself, and it’s tough being one, but there’s no way around it. “Child me” has been indulged for long enough, now its time to get the “adult me” into the game.

*Done climatology
*Not started studying oceanography.

Targets for 10/11/2021 will be
*complete Oceanography
*Done oceanography but 3 subtopics left
11/11/21 targets will be
*Oceanography leftovers+Biogeography(2 days)

Oooof, give me a break. Before the result of prelims, I was talking to my college friends about how uncertain prelims is, just one thought about a statement and you're on the wrong side of the border and how mains is the sure test of your hard work you've done till now. Now it all sounds so funny xD have I put in any hard work till now?

@Purplesunbird hahah I think the same and thats why I have blocked every channel that shows the bakar bakar of these toppers.. nobody has the guts to be honest and say that prelims is based on a lot of luck factor and I got lucky “that day”. My father is himself a civil servant and he says “ civil services toh lottery hai “.
If I get into the list, I will scream about how lucky I was in prelims..

Can anyone compare Rau's mains compass and vision mains 365 on basis of RoI and given the time constraint?
Rau's Mains Compass is easier to read. Also things are better explained.
Vision Mains 365 has better content density and higher coverage. But it takes a lot of time.
If your basics are good, go for vision but do it selectively + make short notes. If you lack time, study Rau's and supplement those topics with data/examples from Vision for those topics. And skip the remaining filler topics in Vision.
The thumb rule is do only those things which you can revise minimum 3-4 times before exam and actually recall in the exam. The rest (especially facts and data) are a waste of time.

Completed my C/A and editorials and managed to get through half my economy targets, which is great because i had set unrealistically high targets for myself and I’m glad I chased them. Mummy bread still got it in her, folks! Ill finally be going to bed satisfied after a really long time
