CSE 2021: Plan / Strategy / Daily Routine

Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.

This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.

No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

@nerdfighter weird habit of not using round off figure where I can decide. :3
More of why is it 10hours, not something random 10hr 9mins
Like my alarm is set at 6:49am

@nerdfighter I'll be studying for Mains till August 15th and then shift back to Prelims mode.

My plan is rather ambitious. I'll be trying to do one complete revision of both my optional and GS but not directly.

My major focus would be on Maths, since it betrayed me in my previous two attempts. :P.
Will do 3 chapters completely plus try to solve last 10 year PYQs.

For GS, I've enrolled in Dipin Sir's CA classes. There are about 10 pending classes which I am doing right now. Then when the classes start again, will continue accordingly.
On the days when I have no classes, I'll spend time going through PYQs. I am doing so to analyse trends, update my notes, plus practice elements of answer writing (won't write answers. Just create basic structure + brainstorm).

For both GS and Maths PYQs, I'm going topic wise so will do a reading of my short notes simultaneously. So hope to get in one revision of both by mid August.

Again this is the best case scenario. Based on previous experiences, even if I get 80% done I'll be happy. So I've sort of made a priority list so that I can do the high priority stuff earlier and not compromise on them.

Maths -- Mechanics ->4 hours 45 mins

CA class ->2 hours 45 mins

Newspaper ->20 mins

Total ->7 hours 50 mins

Today although I studied a good number of hours, most of my time was spent on lesser intensity work like video lectures. Will correct that tomorrow.

Newspaper is done. Now targets-

Ancient Upinder Singh 15 pages- Notes

Medieval IGNOU 1 chap- Notes

Ancient Mapping

Government Schemes

As the great talented, maestro I am, none of the targets were achieved and on top if it, have not been able to sleep properly. Maybe exam stress. So next day automatically goes bust. Now here is the catch, if I sleep again in the noon to cover up for the lost sleep, in the night I cannot sleep and cycle will continue endlessly.

Anyway, the same targets are being rolled over for today.

Stay awake till night & then sleep, even if that makes you feel like shit for a while. Because that cycle is dangerous.

Yes. From today no afternoon naps. I have noticed that if I wake up post 8, the probability of my day going good sharply reduced. I have to sleep early.

@SergioRamos When you wake up (if it's around 7) go outside in the sun. Stare at the sky so that you're looking at the sunlight. Over a period of 3 or 4 days, your circadian rhythm will adjust itself and it'll make it easier to wake up earlier in the morning. On a sunny day, around 2 to 5 minutes is enough, while on a relatively cloudy day you need to spend around 10 to 20 minutes. Artificial light doesn't work, because the amount of lux is low. You can actually check this out if you download some Lux measuring app on your phone and compare artificial light with the sunlight.

Also, none of this is my random gyaan. This is all scientifically backed. Check out Andrew Huberman, a neurobiologist at Stanford, if you want to know more.

Thanks, man. Will surely try this. I used to do this, like going to the terrace. Have stopped for the past 3-4 months. Did not know the scientific reason though. Now its time to restart.
