Mann hi ni kar raha. Itna mann karta hai to come back on Forum but this is not 2020 anymore. My friends@whatonly ,@AzadHindFauz @sjerngal  and many others are already selected and I am still slogging. I come here and I feel defeated. Isiliye, mann ni karta aane ka yahan.

Uljhanein badhti gayi, mai jhelta raha...

Waqt ne maidan me utara, mai khelta raha...

Log kehne lage tu pagal ho jayega, mai sunta raha...

Logo ki baato ko man me dabaye, apne sapne bunta raha...

Lekin kaise batau mai in logo ko, jab waqt badlega to mai nahi mera vishwas badlega...

Fir ye pagal in logo ko nahi, pura itihaas badlega!!!!

Keep slogging, bro. Your time will come!

Very motivational sir, waiting for that day too🙏

1,2 done. 3 not done (which comes as a surprise because newspaper was the only thing I was doing regularly all these days.)

For today, 20.07.22-

1. Eco- Mrunal Pillar 1- 60 pages

2. Optional- pyqs 2016-19

3. Newspaper- of yesterday and today

Good day!

1- did 30 pages, 2- not done, 3- done. Overall average day. Productivity is low for days when I've just started.

For today, 21.07.22-

1. Complete Mrunal Pillar 1A w current updation

2. Optional- Huck Finn pyqs 2016-19

3. Newspaper

Good luck friends :)

Was about to finish the first target when I dropped out, not to touch my books again for the whole day. Woke up early today and did some work. Now the status is: 1,3- done; 2-not done(again!)

I want to set my sleep cycle aright, so mentioning only two targets, that I can easily complete before 11.

1. Optional- all remaining pyqs + test ques.

2. Newspaper.

Good day, guys!

Did only newspaper.

Productivity is low, procrastination high. My screen time is an easy 6-8 hours everyday. One particular day it was more than 9.

So, I have decided to quit my smartphone. Have realised I won't be able to overcome my addiction to my phone until I physically distance myself from it. Will shift to my grandmother's Samsung Guru instead. I have tried this strategy before as well, and it worked pretty good for me.

Will stay off this platform and ypt for a while.

Until next time!

A quick update- There has been electric outage since 11 am in my area. So, I have just returned back to my room after waiting for nearly 3 hours and in the process, being drenched in sweat. Have done PSIR portion and will not be able to do GS portion. Hopefully, will do Newspaper and Evening rituals.

Most days are energyless for me. No motivation to do more than what I am doing right now, a simple govt. job.

I lost one of my parent last year and things haven't been on track from then on. Missed 2021 preliminary by 0.66 (ahh!). I feel I am unable to give time to my people but I guess it's because I have nothing interesting to tell them or talk about.

I joined a group C govt. job because of father's worries about my future aur yahan bhi man nahi lag raha. I have always believed that the thing which you do for most part of the day is where you succeed.

8 hours job + 8 hours sleep + 1hour (before + after job) + 2 hours daily chores +  phone calls eat most part of my day. I am left with 2-3 hours. I have a 6 day central govt. job.

I don't know if it is lack of motivation or I seriously don't have time for UPSC anymore.

But everytime I say I don't have time for UPSC it feels like a mini breakup. I don't know if I am lost or it's a phase or I'm down with some kind of depression (sorry if I used that word casually). One thing for sure is I am unable to take UPSC as an exam now. I feel bad and sad.

Any worldly or unworldly gyaan is invited.

what happens is , we dwelve so deep into the anxiety and hopelessness by giving constant attention to it, it takes form of depression gradually, and everythings seems utterly unpleasant.

par actually the truth is that it is a phase, surely a very bad one, but a temporary phase, this is the truth and first of all you have to realise this, that it is temporary and it can change, it will definitely change.

then you decide to cahnge things and start taking action.

aur upar se apne UPSC ka weight le liya hai sar pe, thode time tak usko side rakho, concentrate on your well being , try and get out of this mindset, effort lagao, journal likho, socialise karo, bhale hi resistance aa raha ho par karo.

try to do things that make you feel good, dhire dhire thik hone lagengi chizein. fir upsc ko bhi leana wapas, achhe mindset ke sath taiyari hogi.

Shubh Ratri doston!

A day late and have still missed some portions. This has been of the most unproductive week for me. I have missed deadlines by good enough margin.

Also, since now I have State PCS Prelims on 31st, I will be leaving for home on 29th from Delhi. What I just expect is to write at least one more test of MGP. I initially planned to complete GS 3 before I jumped into college exams, that will eat whole of August. Since that isn't happening now anyhow, I will try doing Environment and DM alongside Geography in September.

Tomorrow is CA day. Struggleof reading May CA of Vision continues.

@LetsGetThisBread Indeed. I absolutely love PS. Also, reading PS reinforces ki Nye aur Stiglitz zinda hai and Shashi Tharoor still talks sense.lol!

Also, Stiglitz did write on Soft Power some days back and Nye be like- Where do I fit in now!

Shubh Ratri doston !

Sir,don't worry. Do what seems doable.

Also, don't be hard on your ownself. This struggle is such that we become sensitive to all the worldly problems, but often insensitive to our personal problems.

Also,take care of your papa.

Best-est of luck, sir !

First of all, I would like to remind you that aap bhi insaan ho so apne aap ko itna harshly judge mat kijiye. You have gone through extremely difficult times recently so it’s ok to feel down in the dumps. I cant even begin to imagine what losing a parent might feel like.

Worldly gyaan: if you still feel like doing UPSC, understand that your study day will be much smaller than the average aspirant’s. So you’ll have to make consistency your strength. Plan those 2-3 hours well and try and do as much as possible. Avoid phone calls as much as possible if they’re unnecessary (itna toh tyaag diye ho life m already, yeh bhi kar paoge). Weekend ka bharpoor istemal kijiye padhai m.

Otherwordly gyaan: You know your situation better than anyone else. So it would be easy for me or for anyone else on this platform to tell you what to do and for you to go “WTF yeh toh bekaar h” (I would do that tbh). If you’re feeling this way about UPSC take a break from one cycle, refresh yourself and then come back, if age is not a factor. And I don’t know if you’ve managed to cope with losing your parent so early but agar woh tough lag raha h toh I would advise going for a few sessions of therapy or at least finding a support group to talk about these issues.

@khabhacheed  not a master ,but what i have realised from my experience is reading The Hindu on daily basis is the best way to prepare for current affairs ( you can make your prelims or mains related notes from it but dont waste too much time like giving 2-3 hrs )
Hope it helps
