To all the senior,s or selected candidates.....How is the home cadre decided?? Is it decided by the address we fill in upsc form or by place of birth or by aadhar address or by domicile certificate...??
Till now, the Commission has given full rights to the candidate to declare their Hone State as they deem right and it has not been questioned by the Commission.
So there have been cases of people from say UP or Haryana having stayed for schooling in Delhi and claiming Delhi as home State, so that they can apply as outsider in UP or Haryana ( where getting it as insider may be difficult )
Im recorded history of past 12-13 years that I know , no questions have been raised.
However, you may fill up the home state on the below basis.
- Where you have paternal house
- Where you were born
- Where you had a major part of primary education
- Where you have a domicile certificate.
Try not to deviate too away from the above choices. That is peace of mind after selection.
Also do not dance around telling people if you have deviated a lot from above over home state. If you have some dushman type people and someone takes you to court over it ( batchmate who did not get his home cadre because of you, jealous co aspirants, jilted lover - unless you are one of those! ), you could be in trouble. That will be important for peace of mind till 60 years were you to be inducted and benefitted from your home state choice.
Hope this clarifies your query.
