My point is that, the word lethal is quite common in pollution terminology. And hence need not be seen as an extreme statement.

carbon monoxide is used in as reactant hence it doesn't release in lethal quantities hence d is incorrect this is what majority of coaching say but I'm not sure i also marked D :(

Same here. I feel that it’s D because, the word “ may “ in the statement talks about the possibility of such a thing. It’s a sensible statement. I don’t know what UPSC is going to give.
